That's basically what I was trying to get at, except you said it in one line hahaha! I love them because theyre small, and then at the same time, you wonder about paying so much for 2 2" guys or gals.

I don't know if anyone would agree with me or not. As much as I love minimates, I've always felt that they are a bit over priced. I am remembering them being more like 5.99 when they had first come out, then I had stopped collecting them for 5 years--I've bought up a whole bunch in the last 2 months. Either way, I look at it as about $4.25+ per figure as opposed to 2 for the price of one. And then when you're buying a pack that has a hulk or spiderman, you're basically paying $8.50 for the one figure you actually do want. I'm not trying to sound like a hater here or anything, I love these guys, they are my favorite right now! And if the recession creates/allows for more minimates due to those lower costs, then bring them on. Back in 2003-4, I remember them popping up in TRU and Target, then they disappeared and maybe that's how I lost track of them. Just recently, I walked thru TRU and literally stumbled on that new wave with union jack and that brought me back, not thrilled with the 7.99+ but oh well., they are great! Sorry for the rambling, too bad they aren't cheaper due to the recession, or packed in a more cost effective way for the buyer.

Everyone get their dead-horse-beating sticks. I finally just got my horse beating sticks 2 days ago----I finally got some SF minimates, which I had put off for the longest time. And I've obviously known their story for a while now, but now that I actually have them in my hands, I am just so angry that they made P2 doubles instead of just giving us the original lineup ahhhhhh why oh why?! And yes, the darkstalkers are cool, but how the hell do they take priority over guile or ken or blanca, or sagat or any of those, vega woulda been sweeeeet! i know i know its already been said 1000 times+ so I just thought i'd add to the number and add to the pile of dead horses. maybe we can trade all the dead horses in for something at some point?

I would really love some U2 mates. I know this would never happen--I wonder if I would be the only person on this forum interested. But I think if you go back to the early 90s around the Achtung Baby era there could be some awesome Bono's in there. They could make: -The Fly -Mr.Macphisto -The Mirrorball Man The Edge with his purple vest and skull capLarry Mullen Jr and the camo and wife beaterAdam Clayton wearing the denim suit and mowhawk You get the idea...I would die if these ever came out, or someone could do customs.

Is anyone around here from Westchester NY? TRU in White Plains doesn't have them yet it seems. Still plenty of 2 packs from the last wave and a few union jack packs too. I can't believe how fast the Xmen origins stuff went, I didn't think it would be a very popular wave with all the wolverines in every pack. EDIT---Does anyone know if TRU is supposed to get the single packs as well or just the doubles? I don't see the singles as a preorder on their site.

Just thought I'd let ya all know that toys r us in white plains ny has these all stocked up, including a bunch of union jack and wonderman sets. i ended up buyin the wolverine wave eventho i said i wasn't going to, i really wanted the villains, but now i have soooooooo many wolvie's arrg...i really wish they could have put 2 villains in a few 2packs and maybe released 1 or 2 wolvies to go with them that would have been plenty--and where is gambit, and the cool version of deadpool from the end of the movie, why did we get the ryan reynolds version??

I'm not tryin to be a total negative nancy here but, I don't have a huge collection of minimates, I think I have 39 total. But in that total I have 4 wolverines already. I am kind of bummed about this wave, I would love the bad guys but I don't really want or have any use for a whole bunch of wolverine variations. I think I'm going to skip it unless I find the others floating aroudn loose on ebay or something. anybody else here feel the same way? or is everybody happy with more minimates the merrier?

Hi everyone, just thought I'd say hello. I've been reading for a while but have never made any posts, and then I decided to join a few weeks ago. I thought I would share my story with the 'verse. Basically I got into these guys long back when Powerslave had come out. I was at a Sam Goody about a year or so before it went out of business. I saw an Iron Maiden action figure for sale there, I couldn't make out the price, but I thought "well there aren't too many iron maiden figs out there...." so I went up the counterand paid for it, turned out to be $1.99! So after owning him for about a week, I realized he was actually pretty damn cool. So I went back to Sam Goody, and I took all the rest off the shelf---probably like 5 or 6, 2 of which turned out to be Ozzy's. And when I went to the counter, the girl scanned the first one and said "...huh these were supposed to get destroyed, we haven't sold many at all" DESTROYED?!??!? just think of all the original 3" that didn't make... I did some research on the internet, I guess this was around early 2003, and there realyl was not much info about minimates, I learned that there were a few other sets roaming the earth, and I decided I would collect them all, boy what a mistake that idea was hahaha. I bought Crouching Tiger (which was a movie I thought was cool, but I wasn't a huge fan) and I also got the Bruce Lee's (minus immortal dragon which was impossible to find, I ended up with 2 ascension of the dragons, the guy on ebay thought he would trick me I guess). I also got the Rock 'mates set and the Dark Angel--a show I never watched. Then the marvel mates came into play, I was actualyl disappointed they shrank them down to 2." I only bought 3 sets of them and I fell out of the game because I thought they were way overpriced, and I still think they are. I stopped collecting them until about a month ago where I stumbled upon a punisher in my garage. Now I'm sorry I sold my Bruce Lee's and Crouching Tiger's on ebay..rats! Oh well, I will never be a completist or anywhere near that in order to keep things under control, I am now just buying here and there--the ones I really like. I am looking forward to the terminator sets, those look awesome!! and the GB look great too! So thats the end of my long, excrutiatingly detailed, anticlimactic welcome story!
