  1. Killer designs! I love Greek mythology, and if I had the resources to do so, I'd make all of these a realization! Sweet! Major props!
  2. I'm going to head to my TRU tomorrow to see if they have any new Minimates in stock. I'm not too hopeful, as they didn't have any T2 minimates, even though they clearly had the space for them labeled before they were to be released. We'll see.
  3. While I'm not really too hip on either of these characters, I still like the designs for both. I think they'll translate well into minimates. DST and AA are keeping this year chugging along. Idk how they're gonna continue, but I guess all the profit they'll make from this year will only fuel the fire! More Inhumans would be great, it's always nice to have more diversity in the Minimate ranks. and a male Captain Marvel is really needed, I'm sure.
  4. Ah, you beat me to the Constrictor! I drew up some control art for him, but haven't gotten around to doing him. Love yours, though. Nice set!
  5. Updated with pictures of all my custom minimates so far.
  6. It's just a blank red block. I'm really pleased with these two sets, though the Wolverine: Origins wave actually pleased me a lot more. Deadpool, no matter how simple he is, is one of the most kick-ass minimates ever. I'm also thoroughly pleased with shirtless Congo wolverine, too.
  7. He DOES appear to have two tiny eyes, though, near the bottom of his face block. I'm a little disappointed that Normans vest is still that nasty green colour. But other than that, I am thoroughly excited! Question - how come the Champions box doesn't have the SDCC logo?
  8. Except the problem I always saw with the DCIH packs were that they seemed grossly overpriced - $25-30 dollars for three tiny, sparsely articulated figures? I mean, if AA and DST could make them reasonably priced, I think most of us here would be up to buying them.
  9. Gotta love the level of professionalism that goes into your customs, Luke. Amazing as always!
  10. They sent me an e-mail two days ago. I shipped out my order that night.
  11. My confirmations from BBTS came in today too, just in time for the Terminator single display case as well! Woo!
  12. It's a shame you don't plan on making anymore Earth-X minimates. Those just look great! A slightly bigger family would look great on your shelf or whatever. But amazing customs!
  13. Possible, yeah. But unlikely. I honestly think it's the only reason anybody would even buy the $130 dollar set. Nobody is gonna plop down and extra $60 for a Slimer bust, or a keychain. You gotta figure that the Minimates are honestly the biggest draw of the set, after the game, of course.
  14. I don't really understand the hate of the Hulk movie minimates. What's really surprising is the hate of the movie - I've never heard anyone express disdain for it. At least not the Edward Norton one. I thought it was a really good movie, definitely leaps and bounds above the Eric Bana one. I actually liked it about as much as I did Iron Man. But those Hulk figures I thought were really good. yes, they're a shade too dark. But I thought of all the Hulks, these ones had the best proportions outside of the original Hulk. That being said, here's my list: Best: Defenders Worst: Professor Favorite: I always had a soft spot for the Jack Kirby Hulk figure.
  15. I think what most people are failing to realize is that NO ONE HAS SAID if these minimates don't get released in THIS specific box set, we'll never see them again. And I quote: The poll is to see which of the four get in the boxset. However, that does not mean they're not going to be made EVER. Don't fret if Molecule Man doesn't make it. DST and AA have been quite good to us over the past couple years, and I don't see this good will ending anytime soon. So don't worry - I, too, would love all of these mates. But if a Spider-Man and Storm in the boxset ups sales and encourages TRU to try this again, then I'm all for waiting a bit to get Molecule and SW Doom.
  16. I just got a package in the mail, containing: White Diamond Select Minimate White Art Asylum Minimate Nightcrawler Minimate Red Dress Six Minimate Unification Spock Zombie Spiderman Zombie Hulk I sent my e-mail at 3:30 PST, if that helps anyone figure out if they're likely to get a package.
  17. What's with all the inversions of expectations? With waves 29 and 30, I was more excited for 29, yet 30 turned out to be the better looking wave. And with this boxset, I was excited about Iron Patriot, and yet Daken and Scorpion turned out to be the better minimates. But still. I'll probably be buying this boxset.
  18. The Catwoman is amazing!! I hope you don't mind that I might steal the recipe. And I'm not a fan of the Star Sapphire design, but the custom is really well done.
  19. Over at Corner Store Comics, they have preorders up for wave 29, alongside pictures of the prototypes. Blank Panthers head looks REALLY small, and the body looks far too big. Moonknights cape doesn't seem to be resting properly on the body. The Hydra Agents body looks too big, as well. Sad thing is, I'm actually EXCITED for X-Force Wolverine. Him and Storm look the best. Strange how that works.
  20. So over at Corner Store Comics, they have preorders up for this wave, and alongside the preorders... There's pictures of the actual prototypes! My want of this wave just went straight up, considering that wave 29 actually looks a little iffy... EDIT:: I just realized there's no prototype for Ultimate Spider-Woman. I wonder why?
  21. Wow. I wonder what it is? If it's more Minimates, DST and Art Asylum officially own my soul.
  22. Ha, sorry about the squat looking minimate. Blame that on my scanner. =/ But yeah, the chest and mask are all hand painted. I don't have a printer that would produce anything close to a decent decal, nor any way to design one, so I went extremely old school and primitive. Thanks for the complements. Cheers!
  23. Well, if it makes you feel any better, Luke, I took the idea from your Sauron figure, so all the credit to you!
  24. Does it use the same code, or is a new one? I think Art Asylum is inSANEly cool for doing things this way. Honestly, even if this wave wasn't one of the most desirable, I think it's still quite cool when a company interacts with their fans this way, and actually keeps an eye on the madness that follows! 25. Thing is Amigo, there's a difference here. The wings on the Vulture and Falcon are not on the back (discounting Ultimate Vulture) but on the arms. So to keep articulation, character accuracy, and important things like that, they have to have arm wings. So to create that may be a pain. My guess? Some kind of arm-band type thing, similar to how Apocalypses wires ran into his gloves. There would be an arm band on the forearm section, with an attached wing segment on it, as well as another on the upper arm section (Possibly) with another attached wing. Simple, doesn't require extensive retooling, and would allow for a maintaining of articulation. The only thing I see wrong with THIS theory is trying to make these out of plastic, seeing as AA have never really used anything thinner than rubber(Or rubber-y stuff). But we'll see when the time comes.
