Despite the boxset being on sale for MONTHS, the day after Christmas when I bought the set the price went up to $20. Needless to say I was pissed, but they refunded my money without so much as a fuss.

That one has actually been sold out for quite some time, sadly. Let us hope that this is a turn around in the way things will be working at Toys R Us.

Speaking of Secret Wars. Kind of off topic, but has always intrigued me: What's the reason for Spider-Woman's "Venom" costume? Did that precede Spider-Man's black costume? Or did she witness Spider-Man's costume during the Wars and copy the design? Never could quite figure that out...

Since I was never able to get ahold of the BttF minimates, I'm just gonna pass on the DeLorean for a lack of collection to support it. However, the Terminator tank is really intriguing to me, and will go along with my Future John Connor nicely. And the Jet looks impressive for a generic, vague thing. Can't wait to see what minimates they come with!

Long Story short: I have an extra Silver Surfer/ Swordsman pack that I'm willing to trade for a Bullseye/Moonstone pack if anybody has got one. Long story long: So it turns out the Del Amo Mall in Torrance has a holiday Toys R Us store, so while shopping for Christmas presents I ran in and to my surprise, found two SS/SM packs and an Old Man Logan/ Old Man Hawkeye pack. There was also a Spider-Woman/Molecule Man pack, but I already had that...

Oh my God, I'd kill for all those... Black Knight? Pyro?! Blob?! Baron Zemo?! Songbird?! Yes please!

Only found a single Extremis Ironman/ Titanium Man two-pack and three leftover X-Force Wolverine/Vault Guard two packs. I'm surprised we had so little, we usually have a ton of leftovers. But sadly that means Wave 5 has hit and sadly, no exclusives.

Looks pretty much like what the IM toys for the first movie predicted it would be. It does look slightly bulkier, and obviously I'll hold all judgement 'til I see the actual movie. But it still looks suitably badass, and I can't wait to get the minimates. I'm personally a big fan of the Moviemates, and this one will be quite killer. Also, how come nobody's really mentioned the new Iron Man armour? I think it looks even better than the first one!

So does anybody know where I can find minimate scale musical instruments? I know the BTTF and Chef Duff minimates had a guitar and bass, but seeing as those are kinda hard to find...

Boomerang?? Oh, DST, make it so! I'd kill for a Boomerang and an official Blizzard minimate. Their designs would translate so well to minimates! Also, old school Thunderbolts would rock!

Blasphemer! However, I just noticed the minimate Jean Grey doesn't have the blue stripes on her legs. Which, oddly enough, is possibly my most favourite part of that costume. Oh, well, nothing a simple dash of paint couldn't fix. Are those pouches on the side of her legs? My memory could be foggy, was this a common part of this specific costume? Idk how many subtle variations it's had...

Just to put things into perspective to everyone saying they'd love to see new characters, not costume duplicates (I'm not trying to be an ass, just simply pointing things out): Infinity Gauntly Boxed Set - 3 new characters (2 villains) Secret Wars Boxed Set - 2 new characters (1 villain) Spider-Man Boxed Set - 1 new villain (2 villains) Wave 28 - 2 new characters (2 villains) Wave 29 - 3 new characters (1 villain) Wave 30 - 5 new characters (3 villains) Wave 31 - 5 new characters (1 villain) Wave 32 - 4 new characters (1 villain) Wave 33 - 4 new characters (4 villains) TRU Exclusives - 3 new characters (2 villains) This isn't even counting the SDCC stuff. That's a total of 32 new characters in the space of about a year (Announcement-wise anyways), with 19 villains. Not bad, I say. I can tolerate one wave of can almost be assured as a sell-out wave of new costumes. (Personal bias aside ) So no worries, everyone clamoring for new faces - DST is more than likely just trying to ensure more money so they continue to produce all these new characters.

They're not jazz hands. They're phoenix pimp slap hands. lol I was looking back and wondered what was bothering me about 90's Jean. It's a great minimate, but she looks a little top heavy because of where her belt is and how it extends across the entire figure. Wouldn't it look better if there was a belt piece that went over the t top of the t-crotch piece like the new x-men belt piece or cyclops belt piece instead? Anyone see what I mean? I agree. It's like the transition between the original Spider-Man and the newer Spider-Man when they moved the bottom of his costume onto the t-crotch. Maybe DST can still change that so she looks more svelte?

Oh, man, this wave just became a must-buy. I grew up with Jim Lee's X-Men, and as such those costumes are the ones I'm most familiar with. Take the newest Psylocke, Gambit, Wolverine, Archangel, Colossus, and my custom Bishop, and add Beast, Rogue, Cyclops, Jean Grey, and the upcoming Storm, and you've got a perfect Jim Lee X-Men team! Now bring on the X-Villains, DST! Omega Red, Mr. Sinister, Blob, Avalanche, Pyro, Toad, new Mystique!

Hmmm... Interesting turn of events. Not sure how I feel about it. A Black Queen isn't exactly a bad minimate. However, JL Jean Grey would have been preferred. I think I'll wait to see the last minimate before passing judgement.

Black Queen NOT the variant? Or maybe a new change in variant distribution? Maybe NO variant? Mostly I'm just trying to deny that we won't get a Jim Lee Jean Grey figure... That's just wrong.

I don't see that as a very likely candidate. He just seems like he'd be outta place. ESPECIALLY with the Black Queen coming with the Hellfire Club goon (At least so far as we can tell so far). I'm still holding out for an X-Men villain. Omega Red, anyone?

By the way, anyone else think that Cyclops seems almost lacking in detail compared to Beast and Rogue, and especially compared to the new uber-detailed Thor and Loki?

Wow. Just wow. That Rogue looks fantastic. Just... Amazing. Now I have very little reason to go and track down the old version of her. That makes me so happy to finally see a 90's X-Men wave! It seems the trend lately is to give us at least 1 villain per wave. Although Wave 24 and Wave 33 went as high as 4 in a single wave. So it seems we can hope for at least 1 X-Villain. Any guesses? My top two hopes are Mr. Sinister and Omega Red. To me, other then Magneto, they're the two most iconic villains from this period. I think those two would look fantastic as Minimates, and would sell well solely due to design. As for the army builder, seeing as those don't look to be stopping soon, I don't think we can necessarily expect an X-Men related goon. The last X-Men wave with Deadpool featured a Skrull for goodness sakes. So while a Hellfire Club goon would be amazing, I don't think it's guaranteed we'll see him or a Brood. So for the last three slots, here's what I'm hoping for: 90's Jean Grey Omega Red/ Mr. Sinister Hellfire Club Goon You know what's gonna be the hard part? Waiting until next summer to actually get these beauties...
