  1. Lurch77! (And I got it before reading the hint ) ... damn, now I've gotta think of a question. I don't know these guys, hate 'em all... mutterfrazllemumble Here we go: Who melted his ADV mate out of the soap? (And melted the mate too!) And he certainly has made the most of his freedom, seen plenty of action. No regrets...
  2. All righty! Tony and Toucan Sam: I'm in. Don't care what else this line produces, unless it's the Count Chocula bunch! However, I would prefer to get the previously announced lines first... Guess that's why he has to follow his nose! heh.
  3. And now we find them in "Minimates of Licenses Past". *sob* It makes it feel so... official. *Cappy pours himself another round.*
  4. Well, it's the availability issue... BUT the reason they're not available is because the masses don't know they exist, thus the retailers don't carry them. Don't you think DST would be thrilled to ship miniMates of any flavor to all comers? Fact is, miniMates are not a household toy yet. Yet. I believe that's why we're seeing mates in DVD boxes, mates associated with cereal or the rumored gas station blind boxes. Once miniMates sell because they're miniMates, not for the line they represent, well, that's the goal. I don't think you can blame the line-up (which was pretty good, I think). It seems that no one besides us addicts really knew what they were and how to get them.
  5. Word! That's always been a dream of mine, it would be just plain cool.
  6. Well... not really. Cubes are 7 cm. But more importantly, their body ratio is different, closer to true humans which means much longer legs. So things like chairs just leave miniMates swinging. Accessories, however, like a coffee mug or laptop can be cheated to fit with our beloved 2" mates.
  7. I'm wondering if they did better in Japan (the Kubricks). If so, is this an attempt by AA to get into the Asian market, ala SF2 miniMates.
  8. While Cerealmates aren't at the top of my wish list (well, really they're not on the list at all), it's an interesting venture for AA to make, another step into mainstream. Shanester, can we really say the Kubricks bombed? They're making a third series of the Kelloggs mascots. *shrug* The extreme design is interesting. I really like the big chest and extended pelvis accessories to add height but still keeping it a 2" mate. Very interesting advances in mate technology, that. Which perhap could be applied to Marvel mates....
  9. yeah, the Cubes stuff is pretty fun and is close enough to add civilian stuff to miniMates. Hadn't noticed the look of that new IT chair, but it has to have been intentional. The IT set and the Coporate Zombies are on my wish list for sure.
  10. I, too, missed these pics, having wandered away on holiday... The good thing is I also missed MMMV going down!
  11. Huh. Well, let me know what you think, either of you. If it's got any merit at all, I'd be willing to track it down.
  12. Very curious. And makes you thank each precious moment you're alive, eh? Any follow-up on what caused this, Ady?
  13. Wheee! Nice stuff, minijeff, very sweet. I particularly liked the costume changes.
  14. Ady, where did that quote come from?
  15. ^^ Don't let the cerealmates stress you out so much, Ady. It'll all be okay, it'll all work out.
  16. Haven't heard of this one. More specfics? I'm trying to justify the muddy McQueen that seems to only be in the Willy's Butte playset.
  17. Well, excepting your taste in superheroes ( ) that is one impressive collection. No wonder your house weathered Katrina -- the storm was afraid to go anywhere near there! Superhero Thimbles: sweet. Who says Marvel will license to any offer that comes along.
  18. Hrmm. Can some one tell me which puzzle piece goes with the Bruce Lee figures?
  19. Fujis, I didn't know you were Canadian. More importantly: from BC! Anyhow, I'll cover you. And thanks for the pictures, JP!
  20. Who the fuck let this guy in? (Nice answer, Lurch. I'll have to remember that...)
  21. So I had a few extra FCBD minimates, some decal paper and an idea. With much patience and hand-holding from Timbo, I got into the swing of the decal thing and was suddenly cranking out new designs -- too much fun! Well, not exactly high-end customizing, compared to the quality work that showcases in this forum. But after their debut in the instant-classic Wizard World Tour over at MinimateHeadquarters, there was much clamoring for a return engagement. Okay, a couple of people wanted a closer look. So here then, are Cappy's Logo Mates, Wave 1: Ivan gets full credit for the "Obey" graphic on the center mate. And what wave wouldn't be complete without a Spider-Man variant: Finally, the Bomber Mate hangs with some new-found ... friends. The Bomber is a Timbo original, not my handiwork. So, any one care to name all seven designs in this wave?
  22. Yes, a big thanks to these guys, and I know they had helpers along the way. In my case, thanks to Donny B! And not just for the Green Lantern, but to all of those who set a certain neighborly atmosphere of support and help in this here forum.
  23. Thanks, Ady. I too have been struggling to keep up without buying every darn DC title. This helps...
  24. "The first 2 SKUs"??? Does this mean we're getting one or two minimate cars in September?
  25. Yep, Timbo, it's Maskless Spider-Man's mouth. I don't remember the eyes being brown, but didn't specifically look, I think they're the appropriate blue. Couldn't say about the eyebrows...
