  1. Okay, here's a test run for you: Very usable, but not a made-for fit.
  2. Urrmm... Well, I wouldn't say the fit perfectly, but it's close enough. The chairs are a bit over-sized and they make the mates look like kids. But then, we're used to that around here!
  3. NERD!!! Now back to talking about toys based on comic book charcters... :o LOL Always a sci-fi nerd first, I am. Then a comics geek.
  4. Shanester belongs firmly in the BSG universe, so he's out. MrPL will always be a Batman minimate to me. Ady is too busy with MMMV. TBT is a plastics pimp. That leaves Fujis... who is Canadian! Perfect, that means we've got Classic Trek coming our way.
  5. Oh-ho! I received my second case of classic cylons today. The first case was #391 or some such lame thing, but check this out: Yeah, that's right! Case #6 :o They don't come much lower than that. Eat your cybernetic hearts out, boys and girls. This means I'm special, right? (Where's that damn dancing daggit when you need it....)
  6. And I will say, if Trek mates bring Jules around more often, then they can't come soon enough!
  7. ^^ And looks whose back when Star Trek mates come out of the cabinet! Guess we know which side JP's toast is buttered on.
  8. Mmmmm.... Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica in the same figure line? I am stoked! So, folks here seem to be pretty sure Trek mates are coming, but are they the big announcement? How does "blown away" apply, unless they're releasing some fifty trek mates this year or something....
  9. Ah, too tall for my tastes, then. I am, after all, a minis collector. heh
  10. Oh good! Danny, how tall are these critters? I read somewhere that they measure a whopping 5". Is that right?
  11. So yeah, I'm picked some up at Target. They had all of series 1 there. I was happy to discover that the shoulders and waists on these characters swivel, something Galactic Heroes are missing. And minivenom, I can't help you much, since I am an adult collector. heh. And my kids, older they are, are so not into toys (*sob*). My guess is that most of the sales of these guys go to adult collectors, or nostalgic adults looking to gift younger children. The cuteness must sell, look at Spider-Man and Friends. The small size does allow a kid to put an army in his backpack. Just some stray thoughts.
  12. Well, I'm keep my list down to two, to balance out the four (or more!) lists. - Capt America. He has always been my role model. - Green Emerald City logomate. I'd love to get the scoop from him on what Jaycen went through to release this exclusive.
  13. hrrmm. My target had the pegs for Marvel MiniMates (yes, pegs), but they were all empty. So either they sold out (which is good news) or they're on their way (which is also good). Here's hoping....
  14. ^^^ But what of the missing classic cylons? hmmmm....
  15. I got a couple of modern Cylons, but a whole case and then some of the classics. Yay! Partly because I figure this is the only time we'll ever see Classic Battlestar Galactica, while the modern Cylons are coming in future waves. Plus, I generally like the classics better, probably because it harkens to my youth.
  16. Yeah, I didn't think these were out yet.... But I'm eagerly anticipating their arrival!
  17. Besides, as we've seen more than once, prototypes are not the final answer.
  18. You know, I've changed my mind. The minis were announced long ago, they came out 2006, they should be ranked with the other 2006 miniMates. And that way, I don't have to remember next year. SO. Voting deadline has been moved back to January 15th, 2007. This gives people a chance to hunt down the Marvel Knights and also lets members who might have been on holiday get a chance to vote. If you want to change a previous vote to include Daredevil or Ghost Rider (and only for that reason), PM me or make a new post here. DO NOT edit your previous post, because I need to know who to subtract points from if they are removed from your ballot.
  19. Yeah, thanks for stirring the pot, Deadpool. If you'r talking the Marvel Knights stuff, while technically 2006, those guys were announced so darn late, we'll just have to roll them over into the 2007 vote a year from now.
  20. As for me, I'm voting: 1. Classic Cylon 2. ECC Logo - green 3. Morrigan Man, it was harder than I expected to pick just three out the crowd...
  21. Now that the East Coasters are getting their cylon miniMates, we can wrap up 2006. Just for the hella, let's do the classic "Best of 2006" shtick, in this case: miniMates! So, vote for your first, second, and third favorite miniMates from 2006. Either here or PM me if you're into secret ballots. I'll assign points and total them to determine which single miniMate was the best of 2006. The deadline is midnight, December 31st, Hawaii time. Update: The voting deadline has been extended to midnight, Jaunary 15th 2007. To refresh your memories, these are the candidates: Logo 'Mates: Bad Apple Comics Red Cross Emerald City Comicon - blue Emerald City Comicon - green Emerald City Comicon - blue, no logo Emerald City Comicon - green, no logo Streetfighter II Series 1: Akuma Chun-Li Demitri M Bison Morrigan Ryu Lilith Streetfighter II exclusives: Akuma (P2 red) Chun-Li (P2 pink) Demitri (P2 light blue) M Bison (P2 grey) Morrigan (P2 black) Ryu (P2 grey) Evil Ryu Shin Akuma Marvel Darktide: Cyclops (New X-Men, angry) Juggernaut (black brows) Magneto (angry) Wolverine (New X-Men, angry) Ultimate Avengers DVD exclusives: Captain America (serious) Iron Man (ringed ankles) Marvel Series 12, New Avengers: Captain America (chainmail) Luke Cage Nick Fury Ronin Sentry Spider-Man (Raft riot) Sentry (imprisoned) Marvel Series 13, Astonishing X-Men: Beast (Astonishing X-Men) Colossus (Astonishing X-Men) Cyclops (Astonishing X-Men) Emma Frost (Astonishing X-Men) Kitty Pryde (Astonishing X-Men) Wolverine (Astonishing X-Men) Colonel Logan (Days of Future Past) Marvel Target rolling stock: Iceman (blue) Professor X (blue suit) Daredevil (Marvel Knights) Ghost Rider (Marvel Knights) DC: Green Lantern (John Stewart) Speed Racer: Speed Racer Racer X Battlestar Galactica Classic Cylons: Cylon Centurian Cylon Centurian (damaged) Cylon Centurian (stealth) Cylon Commander Cylon Commander (damaged) Battlestar Galactica Modern Cylons: Cylon Centurian Cylon Centurian (damaged) Cylon Centurian (cannon) Cylon Centurian (bloody) Cylon Centurian (chrome) Cylon Elf (clean) Cylon Elf (bloody)
  22. Just consider Dockingbay97 to be a version of a retailer. There's no shady business involved. Nice pic, DB, heh. Thanks. And those are teasing words if I ever heard 'em....
  23. That answers my question perfectly, thanks DB. So if I don't mind their bulbous look (yes, that's a word ), I'm sure to be thrilled with them, because I still have a soft spot for the Sci-Fi of my youth. heh And, YES, please do wait for the Cylon Elf to show up -- mixing him in with the batch of regulars would be priceless!
  24. So DB97, what is it about the classics you don't like? Are they somehow inferior to the modern cylons in paint apps? Or is it just the overall design isn't as exciting as the new guys? Nice pics, by-the-way, thanks. We can always count on you for good, clean close-ups.
  25. Oh, the holiday season is going to be torturous, now! [does the Happy Cappy dance!] I'm so sick, I'm perfectly willing to turn over all my vital stats to Ady and DST without hesitation...
