  1. A worthwhile thought, but all the other ducks are DC characters (and heroes, at that), so I was thinking within those limits.
  2. Well thanks for thinking of me, sir! Still interested in St Pat's duck, but he can wait until Mardi Gras, if that suits you.
  3. Well, the upcoming Wave 33, actually. Between these two waves, the miniverse hasn't seen this many women since BSG! I've quietly had that very thought, it's my secret shame. Dude, she's a block figure and proud of it! And all you Black Queen nay-sayers: give it up you know you'll be buying into it. Maybe not for the characters, but there's some great custom fodder there. I'm really liking the cape they're wearing.
  4. And mine arrived, feet unscathed! Thank you, sir.
  5. Thank you one and all! The best part about sharing my is that it brings Amazign.JL out to post. And a happy one to you, my friend!
  6. Make lots and lots of these, Luke, because you'll be selling lots! Sweetness indeed. Some of my favorite display pieces are the old Mez-Itz stands and these are right up that alley. One question: are the ends squared off so that one could set out a seamless row of them? (Albeit a repeating row...)
  7. Well, 3 just looks like a handful of guys, call it a squad. You need 5 or 6 to get that crowd feel, and they will definitely fill a picture. But maxcarnage's pic points out the relative clause: if the army is going up against a team of heroes, you'll need to definitely out-number the good guys... say 2-1?
  8. And yes Dio, I received one here in Washington a couple days ago for book ordering.
  9. Oh, come on, NR, share! Please? There's so much story in the pictures you take, I'd love to see what you do with prose.
  10. Oh, watcher, don't start me on categorizing, we'll be here for hours. In general, accepted terminologies for the figure you listed would go something like this: Block Figures Kubrick, Lego, Minimates, Playmobil (we'll come back to that one in a sec) Platform Vinyl Dunny, Bellheadz, Qee, Blammoids Qee technically aren't made of vinyl, so sometimes they get logged as block figures, but their nature and intent falls under the platform vinyl category. Pocket Heroes fall in the under-articulated, ugly action figures category. Playmobil is considered by many to be a block figure because they were the first. By popular account, the success of Playmobil led Lego to develop their Minifig. From there, the two giants have been battling it out.
  11. Danny, how well do the cars roll? (I'll keep in mind they're tiny and plastic.)
  12. What he said, but perhaps more politely. For those who profess to love the hunt, I would submit that what they are really enjoying is the completion of the hunt, when the goal is achieved and satisfaction sets in. For those of us who have TRUs around, but the stores haven't even ordered new 'mates since Wolvie Wave 2, the satisfaction rather sours when paying triple rates on eBay. And I still wonder how many marketing "truths" are really just because that's the way they've done it before.
  13. TRU has a little city block set up in a case... I have to pause and dream every time I go by it. My first thought was "Micro Machines" also. I keep trying to figure out how I can combine this Minimates as a way to justify buying into it. heh
  14. But Luke, you actually have these in stock at the Toy Store, yes? I'm about ready to punt on the LCS and mail order this set...
  15. I'm in! And not too terribly close to the deadline, I hope.
  16. Thanks, eclipse. I see the Wave hit the Lynnwood store on Wednesday... I missed the exclusives because I remembered them getting as shipments on Thursdays. *sigh* Will have to keep on eye them, since the other stores in the area are clogged with older Marvel 'mates, the Lynnwood seems to be the only one moving through stock.
  17. It's a horse-head in the bed. You know, from the original Godfather movie? Once you realize it's what's going on, it's laugh-out-loud funny. Like so many of Max's photos.
  18. Yeah, about that, Matt (and God Magnus): how the devil did you take that picture while traveling at such a speed? I do believe Timbo more than once said something about safety first! heh Hmm. My submission is best viewed in a specific order and the Picasa album is sorting by date or some such. For those who care, either download the pictures then sort by name, or use this hand reference chart for viewing order. If you do so, a story unfolds.
  19. My favorite challenge response from the competitors has been the alien abduction series. That challenge has consistently provided entertaining pictures, from all entrants. heh
  20. Good lord, Ivan, how many days does it take you to set up one picture? heh. Truly lovely work and I wish I was smart enough to get the story behind each one. Still thinking on that eyeball... I'll be begging for a higher-rez version of the Prep picture, that's desktop material, there. And EMP, nice plastic prison rescue scene. And "Coming Soon, Squirrel Girl" -- don't tease me, man!
  21. Hey Storm, if nobody comes through for you, the fix is really fairly easy. Just pull the arm apart and file down, oh-so-slightly, the square corners on his elbow joint. Snap the arm back together and Angel can look normal. Granted, he'll have a double-jointed right arm, but that's better than stuck backwards.
  22. I do remember in the original Armor Wars, Tony felt the need to take out all the Vault Guard armored suits. So, yeah, I guess they count. *waits for Mirymate to correct me*
  23. Eh? Did I misuse that word? Or is BHM at his wordplay again? It's the "unsure" smiley that is throwing me.
  24. Stupid Pacifc Northwest. I hit four, four TRUs and no sign of the new wave. Not that I've missed them, they just haven't gotten here yet. TRU really needs to figure out their distribution system. On the plus side, plenty of Wolverine Origins clogging the pegs...
  25. "minimateize"? Could you conjugate that verb, please? Looks like another one for the official MMMV lexicon. And I, too, would be happy to jump on the Alpha Flight campaign bus. There's a team that need some representation. Although I'm saddened by the lack of love for Marrina.
