  1. Welcome, White Noise. Don't worry about missing the Kubrick train -- once you're hooked on Minimates, the Kubs pale in comparison.
  2. Because 4chan is 100% completely anonymous, many posters forget basic tenants of human decency. There is no moderation, it's internet anarchy. As others have said, the post will fade quickly enough into the morass of sewage people are spewing out there (all in the name of free speech).
  3. I agree with Boyd: if I like the figure, 4, otherwise I can consider 3 to be a bunch. A couple of the ones that don't float my boat survive on just the 2 that come in naturally.
  4. :D You just don't know when to shut up and sit down, do you?
  5. My local TRU put out a case yesterday and, get this: half were actually up front in the huge IM2 display. GO 'MATES! (The other half of the case was back where Marvel 'Mates usually are.)
  6. Updated the checklist. Pretty sure I've got all the Iron Man 2 stuff figured out and correctly listed.
  7. I'm liking this guy's style This is some one we need to suck into the MMMV. As NR says: great style!
  8. I'd take even odds on Falcon showing up in a wave not too far down the road – maybe even a TRU exclusive. I'd like to see someone tackle a Darkhawk custom... Well, there's one silver lining: what with these being crap sets, mayhap they will go on clearance and then we'll have cheap custom fodder.
  9. I do believe T2 Minimates suffered due to the failure of the movie. That and an incredible flood of unwanted T2 toys in the stores, most of which were pure crap. So this excellent little line suffered by association. They really are great science fiction 'Mates; even the "civilians" carry a lot of potential and detail.
  10. How long have you wanted to get to post a disclaimer like this one, Luke? Considering he controls the timestream, I'd say no time at all!
  11. Good golly. He even swapped the left and right views. heh
  12. I think Ivan debunked that one -- I can't see a whole new sculpt coming out for this exclusive. New colorway, yes... and my goodness, it's a distinctly different colorway. Be interesting to see how varied they go... maybe a red Gator for SDCC?
  13. Nobody "deserves" any Minimate, or any other toy at that, nor the privilege of driving. Not even people attending conventions. Nothing wrong with folk desiring a given toy, but how you go about acquiring it, now that's the rub. Some will be polite, and some will feel they deserve it. If you fall in the polite category, you probably know it and you're fine. If you might possibly fall in the "I deserve it" category, I'd suggest carefully reading some of the comments above and considering the point of view of the possible "supplier." And always remember: patience is a virtue.
  14. Wow. Thank you, Timbo, for condensing 31 pages into an entertaining and useful read. Perhaps my biggest regret is having missed interaction time with Shanester (he just doesn't get out like he used to).
  15. My case breakdown matches Groundhog and TTF's. Which I suspect is supposed to be the correct ratios, they have a nice pattern to them. Although one box was incorrectly labeled (I think a Ground was labeled Tactical), the actual figures inside fell into the above pattern.
  16. I believe Danny has hit it on the head. LOL! Okay, I'm a pretty easy-going guy; I make a terrible reviewer because I can never say anything bad about things (blame my mother). Having said that, I strongly, STRONGLY recommend that any one who can avoid buying this set, do so! Cancel your preorders, just say "no" to the LCS clerk. This set is complete trash, honsetly. Seriously, Black Cat and Spidey are going straight into my parts bin and Doc Ock needs some heavy modification. Bacially, you're paying $16+ for Vulture (and even he's not-quite-right).
  17. I can't figure out if the heads are tiny because 1) they're robots or 2) they are sculpted relative to the body size, which is very large. Guess I'll have to wait for the movie to come out. I do think the armor looks very cool when you snap a regular head onto it, and mix-n-matching like Max did helps a lot.
  18. BLASPHEMY! Seriously though, that is blasphemy. I think we're the only ones left in that particular church Sam. I was looking at Civil War Cap recently who is nigh on non-existent these days (ebay) & just marvelled at it's originality......how did we get that one??? Assuming we're actually talking about Wave 5 Captain America, all I can say is: he continues to hold the place on honor on my display shelf. Some of the other Caps are cool, but none top the original.
  19. heh. One acquires them over years (literally, ask Boyd) with this project in mind. Then one spends big bucks to get a couple more to finish things up. Engergized Terror Dog combined with Phasing Kitty Pryde worked, Wave 11 Iceman is absolutely the best, but costs a lot these days. I have great, great hopes for the Ghostbusters Wave 3 just released. Looks like some Goof-Off applied to Titanic Captain and Nunzio Scolari will bring new life to dead ghosts.
  20. Thank you, Timbo. You others, well, now that I've got my formatting back, there will be no rest for the wicked! (or rest homes for the life-experienced) *stupid computers...when did they get so complicated?*
  21. Suddenly, each thread is being displayed with just the post titles all threaded together. I hate that format! Did I hit a switch somewhere? If so, I can't find it and/or how to turn it back. Please help.
  22. Yeah, it's RIT -- powdered in my case, but sources on the web say the fluid stuff works just the same. Ivan, yeah, I'd encourage coating them somehow. The dye is just a surface layer and can be scratched off. Okay, as promised, here are more pics with more colors: (clicky for larger pic) My first creation, Purple Blank, turned out too dark to fit in with the SDCC 'Mates, which was my original intention. Bah, the SDCC were always too light for my taste anyway, so I went about creating a matched, more saturated set. Here's a comparison, with the SDCC counterpart on the left of each pair. Finally, the whole bunch, including those outside of the rainbow: If there's an interest, this weekend I'll post a brief how-to.
  23. Crap! Too rushed, too sloppy. Wolverine is definitely the Best Variant. Guess I was just bamboozled by Jean's looks.
