That bank is pretty cool, but it's WAY TOO SHORT. I'd prefer the 15" NECA marshmallow man from a few years back.

Not to drudge up an old thread, but I've recently finished building my bridge model, and thought I'd share mine too. I only bought the one kit so it doesn't go all the way around, but I decided to construct mine like the TV set to show the port side of the bridge like we always saw on screen. It only took a slight bit of modifying, but it was worth it. I built mine on a piece of black board to fill in for the missing floor and to add stability. This is deffinatley a must for Star Trek Minimates enthusiasts, because it gives the figures an excellent display for your shelf.

I just placed my pre-order. Thankfully, I was planning on getting the game ANYWAY, but the Minimates make the whole thing all the more sweeter. Sure, I wish I didn't have to shell-out the extra scratch just to get the exclusive 'mates (I have no interest in the keychain nor the bust), but I really did want more ghosts to go next to the guys in my display for them. Once I'm done playing the game, I'm sure I'll appreciate these figures even MORE since I'm sure they're featured/key characters in the game's plot.

I could be completely wrong, since I haven't seen the movie for a long time, but I thought only two of them wear those goo guns to coat the Statue of Liberty? Edit: did a very quick Google search and I *may* just be thinking of the poster, which has Ray and Winston with the slime gear and the others wearing proton packs. Also a GID Stay Puft seems really weird to me, since he's solid, and not a ghost... I'm sure the second 4-pack will have a regular version. Ray and Winston were the only two equiped with slime-blowers. I figure it's inevitable that we'll see a full Ghostbusters 2 set. Plenty of room to grow since they all had new uniforms in that movie. Plus, it would make room to maybe give us a Janine figure.

That sounds awesome, I hope it works out for you. While I was looking for research, I came across this guy's website where he documented his building of AMT's Ecto-1A model kit. It shows how he customized his own storage rack, and he gives pretty good instructions on how to do it yourself with paperclips and styrene. I thought about it, but like I said earlier, I didn't think it'd be worth putting back there with the black windows. But if you can get that back door open, it would be a great addition.

I didn't keep mine seperate at all, so I won't be able to put any 'mates back inside. Before I painted it, I did put one in the seat and they do fit perfectly, but I don't want to go through all the hassle of dissmantiling it again to do that. Also, I wouldn't bother trying to add too much detail to the back interior. Once assembled, the overly-tinted back windows completley black-out the back section, even when peering from the front seat (the seperate back window piece surrounds the interior from all four sides). Even when I put a flashlight against it, I can't see any of that detail I bothered putting back there when I painted it. If you were to cut the back window piece at all, the windows might bend inwards from lack of support, and fixing that might be more trouble than it's worth. The Ecto-1 model is best for admiring the exterior, and being in the background for the minimates. Don't worry too much about the interior. I found the JTGraphics sticker sheet at a website called CultTVManShop.com for about eight bucks, and it comes with detailed instructions and additional photo reference to apply the stickers. It really is a great addition, and I wouldn't have been as happy with the overall model without it. I screwed-up the Cadillac logo that was to go on the hood, but everything else turned-out great. The roof equipment especially now has more going for it in the way of danger and warning labels all over the place, and the stripes on the radar dish saved me from having to paint them on myself.

I got my own Polar Lights Ecto-1 model in the mail a few weeks back, and I just finished it today. You should note that the decals I used came from a sheet I found at JTGraphics (because the sticker sheet that comes with the model really sucks). They're water-based slide-ons, but they were worth it. Deffinatley worth the buy, and a pretty good fit. If you do get one, make sure you look at plenty of reference online since the box and instructions are inaccurate as far as color details go.

I have the Ertl Ecto-1 & I have mixed-results. A Minimate sits perfectly well behind the steering-wheel & sits comfortably in the driver's seat & looks the part. The only problem is that when the Minimate is standing next to the Ecto-1 ,the Ecto-1 looks disproportionately large ......huge. With a kubrick standing next to it, the Ecto-1 looks perfectly proportioned but kubricks have no knees & therefore cannot sit....anywhere If you want some pictures I'll sort it but remember my photography is a bit hit or miss . The 1:24 scale DeLorean I got from BTTF.com works pretty well, actually. And they're not very expensive. Plus they're diecast, which means no assembly required!

Anybody have any comparrison pics of Ertl's 1:21 Ecto-1? I'm curious to see how well a 1:21 would fit with minimates (seing as how 1:18 is a bit too big, and 1:24 is almost perfect). Also, any good accessories you guys can think of for the Chef Duff minimate? I'm looking for a kitchen to put him in.

Since they started making movie Minimates, I've always ALWAYS said they should make Ghostbusters. And now, we're getting them! If I can't get my hands on one of NECA's Stay Puft Marshmallow Man 15" figures, then I think I might just settle for that $20 coin bank Diamond's releasing. Also, with the resurgance of Ghostbusters merchandise this summer, I hope someone either comes up with or re-releases the diecast Ecto-1 (going for approx $200 online) to go along with these. The Ertl one was 1:21, which SHOULD be just the right size for Minimates. As far as the figures go, they look spot-on to me (except for the black hands-- I think they should've used Captain America-style gloves painted black). If this series sells well enough, maybe we'll get some Ghostbusters 2 minimates as well? Complete with slime tanks! Here's hoping we see a Bill & Ted series next. . . .

Anybody know of a toyline that would have an appropriatley scaled kitchen for this minimate to be displayed in? I've been looking at the Littlest Pet Shop and Ponyland toys down the pink isles, but they're all too cutesy, even if they were to be repainted. Thoughts?

It took some doing, but I had to pull them from the top (near the elbow) until they popped off. Each time I did this, I was really afraid I was about to break the elbow joint off, but it eventually got the job done.

I've been seeing this thing at my local Toys 'R Us and I keep wondering if you could just reassemble the pieces to look like the colonial vipers and cylon raiders? They are block toys after all, right? Though, I'm not about to spend any money to find out. Upon closer inspection, they do look like they'd be a little on the smallish side.

No new updates since September. One of my favorite Minimates news sources and they've seemingly vanished. Anyone know what's happened over there?

WOW. Way to split hairs, everyone. Maybe it wasn't the BEST choice of words, but I think I managed to get the point across all the same that likeness isn't an issue when it comes to Minimates. Sorry to get your panties in a bunch, ladies. Next time, I'll be sure to consult my dictionary before posting. Sheesh.

If they don't give us Sarah Connor or Arnold, then I'm not that interested. And I don't think likeness issues would apply here since, technically, Minimates are considered a parody, not a true likeness (so Arnold can't complain). Here's hoping we also get Kyle Reese, young John, Salvation John, and maybe even Cameron and/or Derek from the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Yeah, that was revealed in episodes that aired just before the show went into hiatus until next year. In any event; YAY! More skinjobs! I need to buy a few copies of wave 5 to bulk-up my cylon collection.

I vote for a 5-pack of the remaining skin-jobs that haven't made it to MiniMate form yet. That would include Cavil, Simon, Aaron, a better D'Anna (she doesn't walk around in a tanktop, nor does she have brown hair), and another Sharon. A variant set of these could be the same characters in alternate outfits. The best part about buying up Cylons is; no matter how many you get, you can't have too many.
