  1. Should my Toys R Us start carrying these, then I should be upon an extra copy of the DVD if anyone else wants just the movie.
  2. All signs point to...giving your minimate collection to drgnrbrn316.
  3. I think the only character from the Giant Sized X-Men we won't ever see again is Thunderbird, the rest were fair game.
  4. Mostly due to the different shade of green for the eyelashes, etc. Its the exact same face, just lighter.
  5. Since my TRU didn't have any in stock, I only got the K-Mart version today, but here's what Hulk boils down to: New Hulk on left, old Hulk on right He looks to be of the same mold and paint detail as the original. Only differences I could spot are a lighter color green in the detailing on his chest and face, different shade of green in his hair, and a different copyright year on his legs. Also, it looks like the white tatters on the back of his pants are slightly different, but this could just as easily be a factory mistake/variation. Not sure if any of that warrants a "variant" status in the official list. Thing I don't get is why these guys didn't at least get C3 feet. I know they used the same molds as before, but there was no special paint applications on the feet that required the original foot mold. Of course, we haven't seen any of the new features from the Indymates incorporated into any other licenses yet, so it could very well have to do with how the figures are produced. Maybe the figure is constructed, then painted, rather than vice versa. Who knows.
  6. Nice work there Ady. Of course, was there ever a white Phoenix?
  7. Spider-Hulk was a first for me, as he was my first use of Sculpey. I used a Thing chest and hands to bulk him up, then slapped a little Sculpey around his face to give him a real brute-ish mug. Paint and details and I got what you see before you. There's many more Spider-men to come too, so stay tuned. Out of all the customs I've done, only one of them has become an official mate, so I'm thinking that if I flood the market with custom Spideys, AA will be forced to give us something else.
  8. Latest custom added, as well as my current theme: the many faces of Spider-Man.
  9. Its getting harder and harder to follow this thread with all the quotes floating around, but I just wanted to say one thing about capes versus cops. Yes, cops wear their name for the world to see, and yes, they make that choice, but you forget that on any given day, you aren't necessarily going to constantly run afoul of the same police officer. With a super hero, it is different. The ratio of heroes versus average people makes it where you are more likely to encounter the same hero should you pursue illegal interests. You'll notice most villains have a set of heroes that they routinely run across. If I got the crap beat out of me and arrested by Officer John Smith on a regular basis, of course I'm going to start resenting John Smith and start plotting on taking him out of the picture. But, as many of these characters that are known to their villains or somehow still manage to get their loved ones involved in their conflicts, the family safety becomes more of a moot point. The thing that worries me most is the Supreme Power scenario, where you have one government controlling all of the major players. If I'm paying every superhero in the world to work for me, then aren't my rules laws to them? How long until I'm sending my forces after Korea instead of the Masters of Evil. And ignoring the family safety and "big brother" arguments, its just like stated above. If you make using your powers illegal, rather than reduce the number of accidents, injuries, and deaths, you only increase them. Making alcohol illegal just increased the number of criminals in the US without really fortifying our "moral values". I think its possible to operate as a hero within the law and be able to be held accountable for your actions without illegalizing the usage of your powers.
  10. And as TBT gloats about his collection, I sneak in and steal the ones I'm lacking.
  11. Ignoring the whole emoticon debate, you have quite the admireable dream there RR. Its not an impossibility to achieve either, as we've seen LEGO come a long ways, even in our lifetimes. It is something to strive for, but if AA/DST ever hope to reach that goal, they'll need to take very careful steps in the near future. Acquiring the right licenses and making the right business decissions are the only way we can see this modest hobby grow into the monumental toy empire of tomorrow. I question some of their current business plans, but no one knows for certain what tomorrow holds. So, despite my misgivings, I am hopeful to see this dream come to fruition one day. :deathstroke:
  12. That's why I drive a Gundam to work everyday. Man its a pain fitting it in the parking space too.
  13. I'm having my minimates melted down into the mold of my coffin. They're coming to the afterlife with me!
  14. Yeah, but as far as collectors goes, it seems they are going from a brand that has a small niche market to one that has an even smaller niche market. Yeah, everyone knows who Tony the Tiger is, and the Trix Rabbit is recognized in most every home in America, but who could forget the scores of shelves devoted to their merchandise at the local toy store...oh wait, there aren't any. It would work as a prize in a box of cereal, but I don't see a monumental success in selling these things. I see hard to find custom-fodder on the horizon here. (imagine what MinimateHQ's Overlord would look like in a Captain Crunch hat!) And, again, I understand that the more licenses that AA finds, the better chances we have of getting their product more mainstream, but they don't seem to be killing themselves bringing in licenses like Lucky Charms. Heck, I imagine even I could get the license for Fruit Loops for something. DST has licenses like Stargate, Buffy, Angel, GI Joe, Transformers, Hellboy, Monty Python, even major brands like Fox and MGM. Why aren't we getting anything from those? I know the major brands have a corner on Star Wars, most Marvel and DC movies, etc, but there are far better licenses than cereal. I'm not trying to sound negative, nor am I down on AA/DST. Yeah, I'm disappointed that Marvel isn't really excelling right now, but that's not the root of my distaste here either. If the line is to grow into something mainstream, its going to take more than a crappy early-Anime show, some sweaty and shirtless Sylvester Stallones, and a couple boxes of cereal to get the brand out there. So, until we get something better, make mine Booberry.
  15. I'm thinking a handheld object that some women use, but modesty forbids me from saying what exactly. Of course, the ultimate Transformer would be a Transformer that transforms into a miniature Transformer. Think of the hours of fun to be had as you desperately try to get it to turn into something else, but it always ends up looking exactly the same.
  16. Does anyone have the blank design template?
  17. I understand trying to get your product out there as much as you can, and new liscenses means more exposure. I also understand that the big liscenses are steps further down the road that we're trying to build to. But minimates based off of cereal?! We're going to see Tony the f-ing Tiger before we see Thor, I just know it. Makes sense to me. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a commercial for Rice Crispys and thought "If only I had my own little Snap, Crackle, and Pop to play with". Cerealmates. That's it for me. You've been great. I'm outta here.
  18. Inspiring use of that set Ady. I used it to make an Oscorp facility. The hanger Reideen mentioned was turned into a warehouse. I really should take pics of all the buildings I've made.
  19. Anyone know if these jokers have C3 feet or the original feet?
  20. I got the idea when I was taking the picture for my Scarlet Spider. I had an extra web sitting near him and when I looked at it, it reminded me of the arms. I flipped open an issue of Spidey and looked at the arms. They had a weblike look to them and the hooks at the end. So, I tried it out and was happy with the results. I look forward to seeing your take on the new Spidey Timbo!
  21. Latest custom added. Upcoming customs: Red Sonja and the Enforcers are still in production.
  22. I'm against the registration act, with Supreme Power as my reasoning. Perhaps its a bit paranoid to think that all super beings being enforcers of the United States government, but I have to agree with what some of the anti-registration heroes have said. How long before the government starts telling the heroes who is good and who is bad? And with computer theft and computer fraud so rampant in today's society, exactly how would the confidential files listing all of the super humans be handled? I agree that the degree of damages done by inexperienced heroes far outweighs any casualties to stabbings, shootings, etc, but the noble effort proposed in the registration act creates more problems than solutions. Should an inexperienced hero turn up, have SHIELD offer them training or appoint them some sort of super mentor. Should a hero cause unnecessary damages, have them all held accountable, be it through some sort of bonds program, or serving time in a SHIELD facility. I agree that they should not be above the law, but at the same time, they should not be hindered by it as well. And I agree with the notion that the hunting of non-registered heroes is wasting valuble resources. But, I don't think Cap and the rest still fighting the good fight is working against them. The "good guys" have practically forgotten about the super criminals while trying to hunt down their own kind, so Cap's secret Avengers actually reminds the people of the good that heroes can do. As for Spidey revealing himself to the world, I'm trying to stay open minded about it. It's something that can never last, but it has opened the door for a lot of his old foes to come back from the dark corners they've been hiding in. I know there has been talks of bringing Spidey back to his "roots" of being an ordinary guy with extraordinary powers, so I'm just waiting to see if anything happens with MJ, Aunt May, or any of Spidey's friends and family. As for Spidey himself, we may see another identity crisis (Richochet, Prodigy, Dusk, etc) where he stops being Spidey for a while. Or we may see the ultimate solution with another clone saga of sorts where all of a sudden Peter Parker is no longer Peter Parker. I'm impressed with the series so far, and I look forward to see where they go with it. It can either pay off in a good way, or it can turn the universe on its head. We shall see.
  23. Another good one! Zebra Batman Or these! Batman Mummy Negative Batman Adam Rainbow
  24. We've played this game for Spiderman and Wolverine, so let's start things up here too. Since Bats and Supes are the two figures we'll likely see many of, what future variants should we see. I vote these!
