  1. So my Glenn/Rick/Zombie sets were supposed to arrive today via UPS. However, on Monday, UPS dropped them off at a post office about 15 minutes from me, to be handled by USPS. Apparently the United States Postal Service seems to think that the best way of getting the package to me is by sending it to a different post office TWO AND A HALF HOURS AWAY!
  2. I couldn't fathom buying the whole thing at once for the final cost, but spread out over the better part of a year, it's a little easier to handle. I blame my grand-parents for the whole thing. I used to watch reruns of the show every Saturday morning at their house, so the whole thing's just a big chunk of nostalgia for me.
  3. Still waiting on Glenn, but here's a shot of Shane and the Punk Zombie, as well as Shane minus jacket
  4. He does not, unfortunately. I was a little bummed at the loss of the calmer face. If you have the most recent iron fist, I find that his head works pretty well as a substitute.
  5. And because of that discussion, I had the character death in question spoiled for me. I thought perhaps there could be a separate discussion from the main comics discussion because there are a lot of people who aren't caught all the way up with the series. I'll leave it up to the staff. If you guys feel the threads should be joined, that's fine.
  6. Well, my "Jim and Zombie" arrived today. As was pretty much confirmed by Mrtankengine, it was Shane and the punk zombie. Definitely a cool set.
  7. This is my biggest problem with the series now. I feel that as the old, likeable characters are killed off, there are fewer and fewer likeable new characters stepping up to replace them. Yeah, Kirkman's plotting sucks. He also gets stuck in repetative rutts a lot. The whole Negan arc just seems like a rehashing of the Governor, and I actually dropped Invincible following the Viltrimite War because every single issue ended on practically the same cliff hanger. I had actually blocked out the bit with Hershel's daughters, but I took a year off from the series after he killed Lori and the baby, and when I finally picked it up again, I spent something like six month's getting through the volume where the twins die. I'm feeling that with the reveal that Maggie's pregnant, her days are numbered, because "ooh, wouldn't it be edgy if we killed the pregnant chick"
  8. I didn't see a dedicated discussion thread for the walking dead comic, and I didn't want to potentially spoil anything for anyone who's not up to date. I've been a trade waiter on this series so far, but last night I broke down and bought up through 102 on comixology. ISSUE 100 SPOILERS...
  9. Just as a heads up to everyone who ordered on line: Keep an eye on your invoices. Placed an order for the "jim and zombie" set today, and some how between placing the order and getting the confirmation, it switched to overnite shipping, which is an extra 20 bucks. Fortunately I called and got it sorted out, but it would suck if I hadn't caught that. Hopefully this is just a fluke in the system, but I'd hate to see it happen to anyone else.
  10. I don't have a dedicated place for a permanent minimate display currently, but this week, I decided to put all of my 'mates out in honor of breaking 600 minimates. I know that's nothing compared to some people here, but it's farily monumentous to me. Here's some shots of all of my minimates set up on my desk: Here's just the marvel set up: Here's the entire collection: And the rest are some assorted close ups of everbody:
  11. I also ordered the packs. I'm inclined to think that "Morgan & Zombie" is the Shane set, and that the other two are the Glen and Rick sets, which at least make each set half right. But who knows, some stock boy could have seen Shane and said "Oh a sherrif, that must be Rick"
  12. From what I've seen, it's just mine. Fortunately, it doesn't bug me too much. Hopefully it won't prove to be common.
  13. Here's a few pics of my set. Both Colosus layouts shown. It's a tie between him and Longshot for my favorite. Issue with my Wolverine aside, this is a fun wave. Do wish the fastball special hands were a little easier to balance, but if you can get it to work it looks great.
  14. Just got back from getting these from my LCS. Really great set. I'm a bit annoyed though, because my Wolverine is missing the paint for his glove on his left arm. I assume it's just mine. Anybody else notice this on their's? Looks like I breaking out the paint to fix him... On a more positive note, this wave brings my official minimate count to a nice round 600. At least until my TRU 14 order arrives, anyway!
  15. Just got an e-mail from sideshow telling me that my Hawkeye is processing and should be here by the end of the month. Looking forward to him, but it's starting to set in just how long it's going to take to finish the Avengers.
  16. Broke down and signed up for the 2013 sub. Malla and the Brain look really cool, but what closed the deal for me was Elongated Man. Can't wait to have my favorite Justice League-er
  17. My Rescue Cap arrived earlier today. Very excited to get him. It's a great figure, and pictures really don't do it justice. Here's a couple shots of him, as well as my currently somewhat small Marvel HT collection. That'll certainly change in a few months.
  18. Just got an e-mail from Sideshow. My Hawkeye waitlist converted!
  19. My Rescue Cap is supposed to be here Thursday. I can't wait to see this figure in person. It's awesome that there's a whole USO uniform under there. I wasn't even sure there'd be a whole shirt. I was just expecting a blue shirt with a star on it. A very pleasant suprise to say the least. I'm also really excited for the Coulson figure. I honestly didn't think we'd see one. Can't wait to see the whole figure.
  20. Just got back from an advance showing of this. While not my #1 movie of the summer(that still goes to Avengers, although I hardly feel the two can be compared) I enjoyed this movie a whole lot. I think it was a very good ending to the Nolan trilogy, and it was definitely my favorite of the three. Only disapointing thing is that I had a major plot point spoiled for me just hours before seeing the movie. Very annoying!
  21. My love of the Cap movie is two-fold. a) when I was small, my dad bought me the 60s Cap cartoons on VHS, and I spent many a day gleefully watching them. TFA was like those cartoons(and by extension the Lee/Kirby comics) brought to life, which I loved. and b ) My favorite comic movie prior to the "Avengers Initiative" movies was the Rocketeer, which happens to have the same director as Cap. Switching back to general talk of 1/6 scale, I'll most likely be getting my first detolf pretty soon. With the upcoming Avengers from HT, I've finally accumulated enough that they don't just fit on my book shelf any more. And that's a bit scary...
  22. @luke I can definitely see your point. To me it's worth it for the head and shield, but I can see how that wouldn't be the case for others. I realize my comment probably seemed like a reaction to your own, but it was more in response to all the hate going down on the Freaks board. I think your stand point is a perfectly reasonable one. I do have to agree with both you and karmazov, I feel the figure's a bit expensive. USO Cap looks great. I'm quite exited for him too. I can't wait to have all three looks from First Avenger on the shelf. I also love the cue cards on the back of his shield. A brilliant touch that could have been easily overlooked.
