  1. I combined the 2 and used the Eddie Brock (JB) face with the hair from version 2, I think that is the one I am going to use. It has the crazy look I was going for with the first attempt, without looking like a member of Tenacious D. I'll get a picture later when my camera has finished charging.
  2. I'm in the mid-west, and my store still has 12 packs of Series 6 on the shelf, so I'm not anticipating these anytime soon.
  3. Ok, I've opened 3 Stilt-Man packs so far: - 1 Missing shoulder pad on Neo-Classic Iron Man - 1 wrong arm on Stilt-Man DST Quality Control is hard at work as usual. The wrong arms aren't a big deal because they are easy to modify, but the missing parts is frustrating, especially when you want those parts for custom fodder.
  4. Clearance on BSG mates? How much were they?
  5. Yeah, Batman:AA is hands-down the best comicbook game so far. I was just thinking about playing through it again, since the sequel is coming out later this year.
  6. We think along the same lines GH, that's the one I'm using in the 2nd picture!
  7. OK, I need some advice on Toad. I really like both versions, but version 1 looks more and more like Arcade (and Jack Black, although I think the red hair for Arcade will minimize that) and version 2 seems perfect for my upcoming Blob custom, the more I look at it. Are there any other head/hairpiece combos that someone can recommend for Toad?
  8. Thanks for the find Fwooshey! I'm sooo burned out on IM2 'mates right now...I may just try and track these down in-store.
  9. Lol, thanks guys! Yeah, 'Jack Black' Toad was 24 Nina Myers Hair and Wave 24 Eddie Brock (the crazy side). I think Arcade may have to be my next custom. I'm torn between them too, I think the 'goofy' face works for Toad, because who would take him seriously!?! I may make another toad custom with a green/purple color scheme and use them both. Thanks man! Blob is definitely in the planning stages!
  10. LOL, I can totally see what you mean, that head/hair combo does resemble JB! I guess it conveys the 'wrong' kind of crazy! I was also thinking of using that combo, with the hair painted red, for Arcade! Now I'm not so sure, I might have to revisit Toad... OK, 1 quick head/hair swap later, improved?
  11. I was able to finish one more up this weekend after all. Brotherhood of Evil Mutants: The Toad!
  12. This one? It doesn't take too long to get the basics down if you have a good image editing app. I just took Luke's blank chest decal, filled it in red. Then found a Superman shield online, replaced the red with blue, shrunk it down and added it to the chest decal.
  13. I think he looks great Fujis, but I understand your situation since I just started using decals this weekend. Cameras sometime reveal too many details, and it makes you more critical of it when looking at a static picture than you do when you look at it in person.
  14. Thanks! That Nova is the first non-QC I started, so it was nice to finally finish him off! Yeah I got the decal paper from Luke. In person they aren't as glaring as the pix because they don't have bright light shining on them and the camera picks up on every detail. The image program I use is GIMP, and if you've never used it before, it's amazing. Think ALL of the needed Photoshop tools, in a 100% FREE program!!! I think it's mostly my printer. I'm using an HP All-In-One Deskjet, and it's a business model not really designed for this level of detail. I still need to experiment with decals, and figure out the tricks for hiding the edges, etc. I'm not giving up on them yet, I don't have the skill to even attempt something like hand-painting detail at that level. I also need to get a non-gloss acrylic sealer.
  15. Thanks Luke! I wanted to go with a first appearance Mastermind since you already did the Hellfire Club version. Mastermind uses: Hair: Emo Parker Head:Tony Stark head, not sure which one though. I have some AIM army builders coming to me so I plan to swap the head out with Classic Iron Man: Jacket: Old Man Logan from the THrough the Ages box set Chest/Legs are from 24 characters. I'm not happy with the chest, I might create a decal to give better detail. Gotta love that Emo Parker hair, it can make anyone look like an evil douchebag, even Tony Stark! EDIT: The current head is from Mk 1 War Machine from Wave 23
  16. As you can probably tell, I started playing with decals for the first time this weekend. It isn't as difficult as I thought it might be, but I have definitely learned that I need a better quality printer. Here are this weekend's customs: New Warriors Nova: New Warriors Namorita: [still need to do some paint touch-up] Spider-Man Movie Norman Osborn, Thanksgiving Dinner variant [My vision of the variant if DST had done a Spider-Man 1 wave] Modern Iron Fist/Danny Rand [Work in progress] Brotherhood of Evil Mutants - Mastermind Date Night, Pete & MJ [i'm not sure who, but I copied the idea of Pete's jacket from another custom I saw] Tombstone Thanks again to Luke and his Factory for the decals he has posted.
  17. Here are some Iron Fist decals I created. Thanks to Luke for his "blank_chest" decal and Minimate Factory in general. Namorita: Nova: Classic Punisher Skull on Black:
  18. At this point is when you should have asked for the number for his district manager or corporate complaint person, so that person can explain to you why the store manager wants to risk losing a guaranteed sale. That would have gotten the cases unpacked for you in a jiffy.
  19. TRU.com is hit or miss with Minimates. They may show up, if this wave is anything like the Storm/Klaw wave. Just keep checking and post here if you see them, as I'm sure many others will be doing!
  20. She didn't get the codename of Psylocke until after she joined the X-Men, around Mutant Massacre. Before that, she was just Betsy Braddock, sister to Brian. Although this figure IS the X-Men costume she used so...I cleared nothing up.
  21. Not sure, but the paint detail/application on the tie appears to be different too, and obviously 2 different hairpieces. Huh.
