  1. When Psylocke first joined the X-Men she wore this: As she didn't have physical powers and this is way before she gained her martial arts mastery, she was sort of a liability in battles, so around Uncanny X-Men #232 she donned the suit of armor. In that issue she was thrown out of a window 3 stories up and was relatively unhurt. She wore this outfit almost the entire time that the X-Men were in Australia in the late 1980's. After she went through the Siege Perilous she was kidnapped by Mandarin and changed into the Asian ninja that we know the best.
  2. Showing some more British Betsy luv. Maybe they can repaint Selene's hairpiece lavender and include it?
  3. So sad that lately their TRU waves interest me far more than their regular waves. Now I have to stress about whether I'll ever find these (or pay out the behind on e-bay). Love the line-up though. I'm Iron Manned out, but the Hulkbuster is different enough to warrant a minimate. (I want a new Juggs!) Crimson Dynamo, Betsy Braddock, Lockjaw... all very cool.
  4. Did the Wolverine "Through the Ages" box set sell that well? I could be wrong, but it seems like I read on here that it didn't do as well as they had hoped. I know the Iron Man box set did well... even I got that one. The more I think about it, the more it depresses me to lose the opportunity to have a team of 4 new characters that wouldn't be released otherwise.
  5. I want them to make a Dazzler in this outfit to go with the X-Men. I also like your Psylocke. Her original look was so different from her later version it warrants a minimate, too. Good Job!
  6. A rise in popularity is always a good thing if you want the toy line to continue. If anything, it should make them easier to find as there will be more made. Also, the more that are made the lower the price should become. I think the prices of older minimates are high because they are rarer and not as many people got them back then. My own collection is winding down now that I keep seeing repeats of characters that I already have...I'm considering getting some older ones that I always wanted but passed up to save money. It seems like a positive way to look at this lull in characters that I want being produced. I LOVE my collection even if I haven't been buying lately. If they continue to be more popular, that means more licenses that may interest me... but BEST of all, DC will see the profits they're losing by abandoning us for cheaper, lamer alternatives. Mwahahahahaha!!!!
  7. I already have several Caps that I'm happy with. Another pass for me to go with waves 35, 36 and possibly wave 37. We need NEW characters or else I'm going to completely focus on the 3.75 " MU line which I also collect.
  8. TBT, we think alike! I did this photo last year.
  9. Glad to see Lizard, Professor X in hovercraft might be nice...I'm kinda reserving my judgement for the pics. I just can't help but feel that DST is kinda dropping the ball on these upcoming waves. They seem to be scared that second tier characters like Inhumans, New Mutants, Young Avengers, Alpha Flight won't sell. They also seem to veer away from B-listers like Falcon, Black Knight, Tigra, Dazzler, Sunfire, and Banshee... not to mention all those X-Men bad guys. I'm far more likely to continue getting minimates if they release characters I don't have already. I have no need for ANY more Spideys, Iron Men, Hulks, Wolvies, or Cyclopi... in fact, packaging a new character with one of these almost makes me not want to get it based on principle LOL. At least I'll be saving money this year. Waves 35 & 36 are a pass for me. The horrendous quality control of the Spider friends and foes made it a pass (and I wanted a Doc Ock badly), and I guess we'll see about this wave. Hope to see some pics soon!
  10. Okay, that would just be the coolest base ever! You need to send that suggestion into the DST Q&A page right now! Especially since odds are even that Marvel is about to murder him in X-Men:Second Coming. It could be a tribute to him... and well, the coolest base ever.
  11. Still mad at how Marvel killed Forge off. I know he'll be back (no one stays dead in comics), but it was handled sooo badly. I love the custom, though. He'd look sweet next to all the other 90's X-Men that just came out.
  12. Something about my Jean kept bugging me and I finally realized what it was. The face is painted with a very matte finish. The majority of minimates have very glossy faces. I can't believe that I have gotten that anal-retentive about these toys. That said, Luke's Cyke looks ten times better without the gold visor... I was wondering if he would have looked ok if the entire costume had been gold and blue as well. I think it's definitely the mix of gold and yellow that messes up the aesthetic.
  13. I loved it. Sure it's campy, but if you are a fan of Greek Mythology, The original movie, or the even older Jason and the Argonauts, I think you'll be pleased. I loved seeing all the Mythological creatures recreated in all their computer generated glory. It's very action-packed...one fight leads to another and that's exactly what I was looking for. No provocative, thought inducing drama here. Just good old fashion adventure and I'll probably buy this when it comes out on DVD. It will get horrible reviews by the critics but I don't care. I was very entertained.
  14. Love it. I keep imagining a little kid asking his Mom for a Hitlermate. "But Mooommm....all the kids are getting one." "No, Honey. I will not have that little murderer in my house."
  15. Got the Secret Wars Wave 4 in the mail. The Thing is a more "cheetos" orange, this time. My Storm's eyebrows were painted little too thick for my taste, but her costume looked good. Poor Kurt. Here's a better pic of Nightcrawler. A little disappointing. Doom looks great! Bulldozer.
  16. Lucky... What are your thoughts on the Nightcrawler figure, Groundhog? I felt the tall body mold was an odd choice for him and would make it hard for him to crouch. I also thought that they were pretty lazy not to at least extend the black line in his costume lower...but I'm just going by the pics I've seen. Often, this line looks better in person, and that's what I'm hoping for Kurt. How was Storm's paint job?
  17. I'm not that huge a fan of Ghostbusters, but I do like to get a few 'mates of each liscense for variety in my collection. A few weeks ago I picked up the pack that had Ray and the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man. I thought that would be it, but the day before yesterday, I was out of town and saw the slimed Peter and the clear Slimer w/the food in his stomach and I snatched them up. They are so cool.
  18. My Secret Wars wave 4 has been shipped. Yay! I can't wait until Monday...
  19. I received my 2010 wave 2 figures today. I opted not to get the WWII Captain America and Bucky. I think the Extremis Iron Man is my favorite so far: Here are the Modern Thor, Black Widow (she does not hold that big gun very well so I left it out), and Luke Cage (I'm not using that stupid necklace on him): Let me know if you guys had rather see more action shots. Tonight, it's late and I only took some pics for my inventory.
  20. Here's pics of Storm. I gave her Cable's knife so she can hunt down Callisto in the Morlock tunnels and finish what she started.
  21. Here were all my designs for Dazz:
  22. @ Serge-Havok: That's the Dazzler I want, too. She'd look good w/the other X-Men. I think most people want the cheesy disco outfit, though.
  23. What's even crazier is that I'm not even a fan of War Machine, but both of his figures looked so good, I had to get one..and I had a hard time choosing. Oh, and I got a notification that my first Toy Whiz order has been shipped, a few moments ago, so I'm relieved. That first order is carrying Modern Thor, Black Widow, Luke Cage, & Extremis Iron Man. My pre-order is for the whole Secret Wars wave 4. I just didn't have it in me to go looking for these things as they came out. They take a long time to arrive around here and they go fast.
  24. The Iron Man line fits in well with the MU line. I picked up War Machine and Crimson Dynamo today at Wal-Mart: On a different note though, I ordered some figures from Toy Whiz last week. These figures should be in stock, and yet I haven't heard anything from them. The only e-mail I got was my receipt when I made my purchase. Nothing else about whether it's being processed. Has anyone had dealings with them before? Are they pretty slow? The reason I chose them was because I had two orders..one was a pre-order that I made sure to do separately. Unfortunately, BBTS doesn't let you do pre-orders with just Paypal so I chose Toy Whiz, but that first order should have been sent IMO.
