  1. Same here. My comic shop isn't getting it this week either. This sucks since I watched Iron Man on DVD last night and was getting pumped for the Minimates.
  2. Nope. I did not see them over here in San Diego. My store always orders them for me too.
  3. Now you can say you've been in one of those notorious Californian earthquakes! Welcome to the US and California, BHM!
  4. Mine too! I'm located in SD. Apparently it was a 5.8. It was fun. I am on the 4th floor (top floor) and standing talking with someone while the building was swaying. When the shaking happened, I initially didn't notice a thing since guys are up on the roof doing some construction stuff. That guy I was talking with had some weird face and said it was an earthquake. It was long, but fun!
  5. It's a "TBT Dressed as Slave Leia" minimate. Just when you thought that Mary Jane minimate looked ugly...
  6. JadOnTV: I didn't notice in your pic before, but you are missing a repulsor-ray-blasting hand on the top right slot. I have two in mine and both are exactly the same. Show Chuck at DST or Pat at AFX and they may be able to replace the set for you on the spot. battlecat: Yes, the shading is a little off. The arms don't exactly match the torso and helmet. I believe the bottle should be in the bottom left slot but I don't have one either. Maybe they took it out at the last minute since alcohol isn't "kid-friendly". I haven't asked DST or any of the other guys about it yet. Edit: I just noticed a packaging error on the side of the Iron Man Boxed set. The Mark III and the Mark VI armor labels under the pictures are switched around. Or is it the pictures that are switched around? I'm gonna scold DST tomorrow. Well, maybe not until they give me the clear blank of the day first.
  7. I did the panel report last year but none from me this year. G4’s Attack of the Show was after the DST: Minimates panel so people went in the DST panel and filled it up. I was in the Heroes (they showed the first episode of the new season and it was awesome!) and Lost panel in another hall right before the Minimates panel thinking that it wouldn’t fill up and was surprised until I found out what was afterwards. Not sure how many actually got in, though, but I believe some of the others got in and can comment on what went on. Just give them time to unwind since I believe a few of them are all hanging out together right now.
  8. Jad is right with the Minimates at $16. Though I did see the Invaders somewhere at some random booth for $15. For HasbroToyShop: The Fin Fang Foom Box Set = $130 Savage Land Box Set = $31 And for the heck of it: TF Nemesis Prime = $27 TF Skywarp = $22 Star Wars Disturbance in the Force = $16.50 GI Joe Cobra Commander (Blue/Black Suit) = $11 GI Joe Combat Heroes: Snake Eyes and his Wolf Timber = $8.75 Hasbro Designers Sketchbook Vol1 = $11 Mighty Muggs (Star Wars Commander Gree, Iron Man, Indiana Jones Fertility Idol) = $16.50
  9. I'll be there pointing and laughing.
  10. Full programming schedule is up for SDCC. Here's a link to Saturday's offerings, where I got the info blurb below. Saturday, July 26 1:00-2:00 Diamond Select Toys: Minimates— Join Diamond Select Toys’ director Chuck Terceira and the rest of the Minimate creators for a glimpse of what’s to come for the number one block figure brand in the world. Ask you questions, make your requests and get a sneak peek at future Minimate designs! Room 3 Categories: Action Figures, Toys and Collectibles I find it interesting that they will be entertaining our requests. I want more Spidey! Make it happen!
  11. I think you meant to say that the prototype Spymaster has a peg hole. This actually happened before with Luke Cage when he had a peg hole in the middle of his beanie when we first saw him but the final version did not. There was uproar but it was just a simple prototype mistake on DSTs part, I believe. So I wouldn’t be concerned at all.
  12. I’m being cautiously optimistic about this Brand New Classic Spidey Wave. Just the thought of more Spideys makes me jumping up and down like a little kid saying “Spider-Man” nonstop. I was beginning to think that the extra parts would be limited to the boxed sets but I guess they are using it to bring new life into the regular line. I don’t think I care much for the transformation to civilian characters if they use a slip-on full-mask for the costumed look since probably only a handful of characters can pull it off. Maybe pull a Chameleon/JJJ and make the mask the regular head and the civilian face the slip-on mask? Nah. Just give another head? Hmmm… I’d vote for this but probably won’t ever happen again. The last head DST gave was Venom with tongue, if I am not mistaken. We’ll see how it looks. Surprise me, DST!
  13. Hmmm... Saturday. I hope nothing big conflicts with the panel on that day. Saturday is usually the busy day for me but I'm sure that there will be a big crowd that day so it'll be nice to see all the fanatics out there. Maybe we should get a section of the room reserved for the Multiverse?
  14. Thanks Limited Edition for producing these and thanks Shane for handing out these gifts!
  15. I see this as a darned if you do, darned if you don’t type thing. Skip doing a Hulk movie wave and that’ll probably anger a few people (not all). Do them and then, well, this happens. If anything, DST took a chance and put it out there and I guess we’ll see how this ends up. But if this does work out how the Ghost Rider Movie wave worked, I really hope DST can salvage the best figures of both waves and perhaps make one wave out of them? Most likely won’t happen, but I really wanted that stunt rider Johnny Blaze figure... and a shovel.
  16. Actually, Snake’s creator went to Nintendo to get him included. And I think Sonic was the “cool if we could do that” thing. On a side note, I’m almost done with the glass breaking challenges in Brawl. I have all 5 golden hammers which I won’t use and just 4 challenges left…
  17. I realized the no copying thing too this weekend. My friend owns the game but hasn't played much of it yet so I decided to copy my data so there is more unlocked for more multiplayer fun. Sadly, I saw that stupid message and then packed up my Wii. So annoying and disappointing.
  18. You can see how many vs matches you have played (among other statistics) in the records section. I'd be amazed if Sonic is actually achieved through a small number of vs matches but I think some of those methods of achieving characters at online FAQs isn't 100% accurate. So did you actually fight him to get him as a playable character or just appeared?
  19. I don't think he meant games like Dora the Explorer but rather games with cartoon violence. Resident Evil Zombie - scary. Mario Goomba - not so scary. But if both are real, I'd still run away screaming like a girl. I just feel that Nintendo is satisfying a different market than Microsoft and Sony. I can't say that Nintendo is a system for "hardcore" gamers, but it is a system for the family and the casual gamer. They just simplified the market for all ages (DS and Wii) since the market is too dominated by the "hardcore" types nowadays. Just going back to the basics: fun, wholesome entertainment for the masses. And they stick to that rule, from Super Mario Bros. to Super Mario Galaxy. I can't see it being wise to keep catering to the same generation that you got hooked and abandon the younger and newer potential people. They try to keep satisfying everyone. Any game can be someone's first, right? You may say rehash for Nintendo games. But I see it as a young kid's first video game library. Easy to get into for newer people, but deep enough for the more experienced. If anything, Nintendo is an entry point for new, potential gamers to branch out to other systems and games that have something different to offer. And that, I think, is a good thing. And then you can pwn those noobs on your XBox Live.
  20. For your "problem": Hope that helps! I'm more of a casual gamer and other than a Sega Game Gear, I've only owned Nintendo consoles. I'm more than happy with them since other systems games just don't interest me much. It's just a personal preference and I love the old familiar Nintendo franchises.
  21. I've been playing Brawl all day and I was surprised you get something for playing at least 10 hours. I forgot what it was but I thought it was funny. I have only 5 characters left to unlock. Sadly, those 5 will probably take me a while to get. I think Diddy Kong is my favorite of all the new characters so far. That little monkey sure packs a punch and I love that peanut shooter! Sucks that DST was this weekend. I could have used the extra time... So tempted to call in sick for work...
  22. So anybody doing Gamestop's Brawl tournament? I'd doubt I would do it but it may be a last minute decision. I don't know if there's some registration or just show up, though. http://www.gamestop.com/gs/ssbb/tournament/default.asp
  23. I don't know if it will really help much for you, but I took off the attachment of the wing joint back piece from the chest. Then carefully jammed the wings into the ball joint with my thumb under the ball joints for support. Other than that, you may want to try to get a pen or something to slightly open up the cavity in the wings a little bit.
  24. I was playing with my variant Archangel and looking at the images of others modifying theirs with Hawkman wings and then I remembered that Angel was part of the concept poster of many years ago. Here's the link from the Marvel Minimates: The Definitive List thread Minimates Concept Art Poster I think Hawkman's wings were intended for Angel to begin with! On a side note, I can't believe we almost have all the minimates in that poster!
  25. I don't know if this thread is dead yet but I didn't see this posted anywhere. AFX has included Series 19 and 20 as part of the deal to get the WA Spidey. I don't know when this was added, though. http://www.shopafx.com/webarspmisp.html
