  1. Which would really make no sense because really has Vulture ever had yellow-green wings versus the green of his costume before in the comics? This is horrible. What the heck happened with this set!? I might still get it, but dang this is disappointing to see such problems after the last few waves of excellence. DST/AA need to release a statement on this as well as the missing stuff on the 90s Jean Grey and wrong color blue on 90s Beast's chest piece.
  2. I already pitched on that fwoosh thread myself with the idea of the Power Pack. Zero-G (Alex Power) Lightspeed (Julie Power) Mass Master (Jack Power) Energizer (Katie Power) I thought given the 'Father's Day' minimates bodies they showed off for kids, it could work for the younger members of the Pack while normal minimates maybe for the older. I think it could work. Add a rainbow flying part for Lightspeed to show off her flying ability, a powerful energy ball for Energizer and cloud base for Mass Master and it'd be a really cool set. Maybe even some kind of power attchment for Zero-G's powers. Power Pack have never gotten toys as far as I recall ever, so it'd be something totally unexpected. I thought I had read they were even planning on bringing them back in the comics here at some point. Julie was featured in that Excelsior team I remember...
  3. The 90s X-Men looks to me are favorites of mine more because of the cartoon series from back then rather then the comics, but that photo of all of them together just shows how much we need a new Professor X and Colossus to go with the others. A new Nightcrawler for Excalibur would be nice too since getting the original is difficult nowadays.
  4. I happened to buy a WW Hulk/Mr. Fantastic along with my Storm/Klaw and Cap/Wolverine sets. I had read somewhere on here that someone had a store that had a ton of the Molecule Man/Spider-Woman 2-packs. I never saw them or the Warpath/Angel sets at my local TRU... I don't suppose anyone would be up for a trade would they?
  5. Glad one of us could show pics of these and also confirm that they did indeed get lazy with Jean Grey on her costume. Oy. Why AA/DST!? You did great on the others for the most part. Now if they'd just give us a new Nightcrawler and Meggan for Excalibur, and Bishop with mullet, a 90s style Colossus, a Jubilee, and Professor X in hoverchair to complete the 90s X-Men...though Forge and Banshee (with a classic Banshee variant) from the 90s would be cool too.
  6. I'd love to show pictures, but I need to find our digital camera and see if it'll work with our new computer as it's been awhile since we had any pictures taken. I have taken the figures out of package now and have to first say...starting with wave 33 (not including Thor/Loki in this since they also came out in TRU newest wave)... The Sentinel/Rachel 2-packs are by far the AWESOMEST minimates 2-packs ever. I also believe they hold the record now for most stuff included in a 2-pack. Both versions include... a Phoenix Raptor base for Rachel, alternate sets of hands and feet for the Sentinel to look more old school, a rocket base to simulate the Sentinel taking off, an alternate clasic Sentinel hand to simulate blasting with it's lasers, an alternate modern Sentinel laser hand (I think that's what it is), and an arm attachment to simulate launching a fist for the Sentinel. The Sentinels just come with TONS of stuff really. And the details on both him and Rachel are amazing. Modern Rachel even has the Phoenix tattoo on her back while classic Rachel has the spikes tampoed on her arms still like shown on the photos shown my AA/DST, which is nice. Menace/Anti-Venom are surprisingly good too. Menace has alternate human hands to go with her blonde hairpiece for her human face under the goblin face piece. Anti-Venom uses pretty much the same construction as the most recent Eddie Venom, except no removeable face mask. Still, it's a pretty cool set. Now for wave 34, the one I'm sure many of us excitedly desired that are fans of the 90s X-Men looks... Beast/Rogue. Beast...is a mixed bag. He comes with normal blue feet and hands as well as clawed hands and large clawed feet, which I think are new. His hairpiece is new but dang is it huge. It would give Wolverine spiky hair envy. He also includes what I think looks WAY too silly.... Arm attachments to simulate fur that the clawed hands plug into. While it was a good idea, the pieces make his arms INSANELY long and unnatural. I think they were really trying to push how gorilla like he was in the 90s, but they could have done a better idea I think similar to the Beast fists they used on the FA and X-Factor Beasts. Maybe make them open clawed hands instead of fists. Aside from that, it's a 90s based Beast, which is nice to see in Minimate form, just a bit flawed. Rogue...is really good. She has a new coat piece with the belt attached at the back to simulate how her belt was always hanging loose at her hips. Her sleeves are actually glove collar pieces (like on Bucky Captain America) pushed up to her elbows and it actually works. She also has a new hairpieces with her headband, though...wasn't her headband green? It's black on the figure. Aside from that, the Southern belle is just how I pictured a minimate version would be like. Cyclops/Jean Grey. Cyclops in all his Jim Lee-ish glory. They actually created a ton of new pieces for him. His straps are part of his belt(they're attached), he has straps on his feet and upper legs, and of course the visor/hairpiece. He also comes with alternate hair for the head underneath which has his ruby quartz glasses on. Aside from my recent pointing out of how I think it looked odd his visor was gold instead of yellow, this is yet another great minimate. Only thing that would be better is if he had an attachable optic blast. Jean Grey... Jean, Jean, Jean... In the one costume that tends to get ignored in previous X-Men related toylines in minimate form and yet...it apparently was rushed from the prototype photos we saw to production version for two reasons... One is the crotch piece in the photos we saw was painted yellow with blue down the center to simulate the costume's look. On my figure, that whole piece is blue now. The other thing is...no tampos on the side of her legs. The prototype showed her having those 'boxes' or whatever they are on the side of her legs like in the comics, but they're not here on the figure I have. Maybe I got a bad one, we'll see when others get theirs but I get the feeling they got cheap with her. Aside from those issues though, she has new shoulder pad pieces and I think new hair and everything else about the figure is really good. Just hate when I see something on the prototype that should have been on the final product (Captain Britain). Black Queen/Hellfire Club Goon The Black Queens both are similar in design with Selene having different boot attachments, a hairpiece and paint job from Jean. They both include black whips (which are actually the Wonder Woman lasso from the DC line). And while both are interesting. They both suffer from one thing. They use Moon Knight's huge cape. As we know with Moon Knight, the cape is HUGE and very hard to mess with the figure with in relation, but the worst part I feel is there's nothing to even hold it in place on the ladies here, so the cape is constantly wobbling around all over the place. I feel without the capes the figure would have been better...make a smaller cape or find one from the line that might have worked a bit better. I dunno. Still, if this starts a Hellfire Club in Minimate for us...bring it on. Hellfire Club Goon. Our troop builder of this wave. He's good. Honestly, I can't really think of much to say as it looks pretty much like its comic counterpart in minimate form and includes a new gun made to look like the ones they use. Otherwise, nothing outstanding about it to say. To sum things up in what turned into a review of wave 33 and 34... 33 has the awesome Sentinel, which despite being a tiny guy is really awesome and turned out to be quite a good wave despite having a few characters people might not care about. And wave 34 fills in more of our 90s X-Men teams, though not without a few flaws in the mix.
  7. Update! They're HEEEE-RE. Looks like all of the them have good tempos from what I've seen. Sentinels have that looking down bit to them though. I haven't taken them out of the packages yet. Both versions of Rachel include the Phoenix base I see though. I didn't know Menace would have her human face underneath the Menace head but obviously does since they include a blonde hairpiece. Only thing I so far feel like nitpicking on is Cyclops' visor being painted gold. I'm used to it being shown as yellow like the rest of his costume in the comics and cartoon. Otherwise, wave 34 looks really good too. Beast looks HUGE.
  8. Well if you have like maybe a TRU around, they sell these flat LEGO sheets (usually green in color) you can buy. I don't know if you could cut them up in individual parts, but it's an idea I guess. That's actually be kinda cool if like toys like G.I.Joe, minimates came with stands with maybe their names on them or something.
  9. I find it odd that Menace can include her glider, yet Hobs and Greens Goblin can not. Is it because of their gliders being bigger? The gliders are an important part of their characters. Just like Professor X has his wheelchair (and hoping at some point a hoverchair in minimate form).
  10. I'll one-up your delivery date - according to UPS, my order is "out for delivery" right now. Wonder if they'll actually show up today... Ditto on the 'out for delivery'. Of course, having chosen UPS and dealing with them in the past, I don't expect to see my package until around 7pm... Like it always seems my stuff is the LAST package the guy delivers. >_O On the holidays they got me my package like at 9am once. Wish that happened more often. Can't wait to put together my 90s X-Men and add Rachel to Excalibur.
  11. If you look at the artwork for the Sentinel though you notice he is looking straight ahead. Due to the tempo apparently being placed lower on the head it now looks like as you say 'down at the mutants'. If anything that really can hurt a minimate it's the tempos being put on too high or too low.
  12. Despite not being a movie based minimate fan (Wolverine ones still sit on TRU shelves)...it's Iron Man and well...I'm a sucker for Iron Man armors. I already broke down and bought Marks I through VI and movie War Machine in the Iron Man 2 line Hasbro put out. I'm so weak. T_T
  13. Dang my order has shipped!? That's a first for me with BBTS to have an order shipped by the next day. Can't wait to have more 90s X-Men. XD Now give us 90s Bishop, Colossus, Banshee, Jubilee, Forge, and Professor X in hoverchair, AA and DST.
  14. Given my really wanting to get wave 34 to build my 90s X-Men I jumped on this. Hopefully it's legit as I've had times in the past where BBTS has claimed to have something in stock but it took forever for it to enter their warehouse as they put it.
  15. Wanna bet they're gonna hold wave 33 back to release at the same time as series 34 next month? I wouldn't put it past them given that Marvel Minimates usually come out in waves of two.
  16. Scored the new TRU wave today. I went in and they were still stocking stuff and when an employee asked if I was looking for anything, I mentioned the new Marvel Minimates. He reached down, looked at a box and opened it, asking me whom I was after. Got the Storm/Klaw and Thor Reborn/Lady Loki sets. Klaw is kinda plain looking, but it's nice to have gotten him in Mate form. Storm is descent. I think an actual sculpted vest woulda been nice rather then a tampo vest, but she's still good...and yes, she has ears on the sides (not sure if that question was answered). Thor and Loki are both really well done up with new parts, but for some reason I really wish the face tampos were a bit higher up on the head like the artwork on the box shows where their headpieces meet up with the tampos. Would love to get some more Asguardians somehow in the future...
  17. Got my wave 31 and 32 sets today. Looking over the photos on here, looks like a few things I noticed on the mates is on all the figures... Yellowjacket's mask detailing being too high up on his mask, Captain Britain's eyes being higher up then originally shown, Shadowcat's low head, and the position of the eyes on the Kree Soldier...which just look a bit off to me...or maybe it's the mask is too high? Anyway, great to start getting members of eXcalibur... Now we just need Meggan and a new Nightcrawler and I'd be happy there.
  18. Hmm... I ordered mine off Sci-Fi Genre today and noticed that they list the FA Angel still as the variant and the blue/white costume Angel as the normal version. Guess I'll see whom I get when they ship, but I'd prefer the FA Angel to go with my FA X-Men. I still haven't bought the X-Factor X-Men because I never found the Angel/Warpath set at TRU. >_>
  19. Well, I see AA answered my question on the hoverchair Professor X... With Marvel Minimates wave 34 being revealed as being a major love of the 90s/Jim Lee X-Men era, would it be possible at some point to see a new Professor X with his hoverchair from that time made at some point or would it not be allowed under the contract with Marvel like the figure height restriction? It is an important part of his character much like the regular version’s wheelchair and just wouldn’t be a complete 90s X-Men grouping with him among a few other characters. DSTChuck: I don’t see a new Prof X in the plans right now but never say never. We’ve not even at this point checked to see if the hoverchair would be allowed. So while a Professor X isn't planned yet, maybe they'll be looking into the idea of being able to make a hoverchair now to make him. I hope so. If we can get a complete 90s X-Men team in minimate form, that would be the greatest thing ever. I'd hope Marvel would allow the hoverchair too since it's not like we ever got it with Marvel Legends and I'm doubting Marvel Universe will make it anytime soon either. Come on AA/DST... Finish the teams up with Jubilee, Bishop, new Colossus, and hoverchair Professor X...and a Forge and Banshee would be cool to is possible.
  20. How do the Jean Grey/Marvel Girls look amongst themselves? Do you have the previous Jeans to maybe show comparsion like you did with the Iceman pics?
  21. An updated Fantastic Four box set would be nice. The ones we got based off the original F4 designs definitely look dated next to a lot of the newer minimates. Doctor Doom got an update, why shouldn't they get one? I'm seriously surprised we haven't gotten redone versions of some characters over other even. Juggernaut being a big example of needing updating. An example of which, it kinda disappointed me to see Armored Daredevil still used the older Daredevil mask piece on it/
  22. I was looking over all my Minimates and have to say, we've gotten almost every big time member of the Avengers with only a few left that are missing really. (Tigra, Mockingbird, Falcon, Black Knight) So it's nice to see some more X-Team love. Jubilee, Banshee, Sunfire, Dazzler, Longshot, Meggan, a new Nightcrawler, Forge, a bigger Juggernaut... And of course, X-Villains... Mr. Sinister, Pyro, Avalanche, Blob, Mastermind, Toad... Of course I'd like to see more villains as well... Iron Man villains would be nice like Living Laser, Crimson Dynamo, Whiplash, Mandarin... Or of course Kang, Baron Zemo... Oh, a MODOK minimate would be interesting... Ugh. So much still would like to see in minimate form.
  23. Hey Minnesotans, as of 10am today, the Northtown TRU still surprisingly has one Silver Surfer/Swordsman set as well as two of almost everyone else. Surprised really to still see them after having bought one of each of them on Monday. No Secret Wars pack yet though... Still love how our TRU skipped over the Angel/Warpath wave. >_>
  24. Well, this was a surprise today. After a crappy doctor visit this morning I headed out to the Northtown TRU near where I live, thinking I'd find nothing to make the day better. Yet there on the shelf was wave 5 of the Marvel Minimates. I couldn't believe it. After what seemed like forever her in Minnesota, and the fact that we didn't seem to get wave 4 (which still bugs me as I need a few of those sets). Anyway, they had two sets of Old Man Logan/Hawkeye and Silver Surfer/Swordsman. I picked up one of the SS/Swordsman sets, Iron Man/Titanium Man, and Captain Marvel/Black Bolt. Found some other stuff I was interested in too. So it made the day better. No Secret Wars set, but they've had a tag on the shelf for quite a while so if these new minimates are any indication, hopefully we'll see more. Just need me an Angel/Warpath and Molecule Man/Spider-Woman. Still had that one MM/SW set with the Spider-Woman switched out... >_>
