  1. They were available as a pre-order for around 70 bucks from some places (like youbuynow.com). I had one pre-ordered, before I realized how ridiculously expensive that was for a few mini-figs, regardless of how cool they are. . .
  2. According to the reviews on Amazon.com, it isn't included due to copyright issues. The movie was released by New Line, whereas the series is released by Paramount.
  3. These are about the best pictures I can get with my camera. Jack has a very small gun in his holster which is sculpted on, and the wheels on the gurney do not move. I really like these figures' facial expressions, and the battle damage on Jack's face. Also, Nina's boobs aren't very pronounced, so you could simply swap heads with Nina to make any caucasion-skinned Minimate an instant criminal! Regarding the shackles, these slide into a hook on Nina's waist, thus, you can remove them and put them on other Minimates if you wanted to. (ok, enough. . .)
  4. You can order from FYE's website, but I don't think that you can order the toys or novelty items that they sell in stores (just DVDs, games, and CDs). http://www.fye.com/
  5. Even if some of you don't have FYE's around, wouldn't you be able to obtain it through eBay or these boards without having to pay much more than it would cost to get it in the store itself? Its not like you have no option whatsoever if you don't have an FYE nearby. . .
  6. Well, that Zelda game was postponed for, like, a year. Only having to wait only a few extra months is not so bad for Nintendo.
  7. When they send you an electronic invoice, make sure that the Web Armor Spidey is there. I'm fairly certain that they haven't run out (or they should, in all good conscience, announce it), but they are mistake-prone. I placed two orders from them, and on one invoice, the WAS was not listed. I e-mailed them about it, and they said that they had made a mistake and contacted the warehouse so that it would be included in that shipment. . .they also send me two orders in one box, so I got a nice 8 dollar shipping refund as well, when I e-mailed them about it. Their customer support has been very excellent in my limited experience. . .but ultimately, if you paid over 25 bucks and got two Defender sets when they were listed as part of the promotion, then you should most likely get your Spidey.
  8. Well, I can at least vouch for Reprolabels producing amazing stickers for Transformers. They are very high quality and look great on my Alts. Regarding labels for Minimates, they have created reproduction labels for Battlebeasts (fairly obscure), and even some stuff for Lego army builders, so they may be willing to at least try something out. The question would then be, what types of Minimate decals could they produce that would sell to a relatively wide audience of Minimate collectors who could make cool custom Minimates with a minimum of hassle (i.e. just put the labels on an existing figure and you have a custom)? Regarding the licensed characters, they produce copy-righted images with no apparent approval from Hasbro et al., so I'm not sure if that would be an issue for them or not (they are probably left alone since they are such a small business, and one that only enhances, rather than competes with, existing toys).
  9. is that the god awful one with the monkey and flying car? uhhhhhh! No, the Real Ghostbusters was the cartoon based on the movie, the one with the Gorilla was just called GhostBusters: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Real_Ghostbusters http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filmation%27s_Ghostbusters
  10. I am a graduate student, and I spend my fellowship money (meant for food, rent, etc.) on toys. I am very poor. .. and so very hungry
  11. I guess they aren't very well known outside of Louisiana. They were an awesome local metal band from the early-mid 1990s. Their lead singer (Dax Riggs) went on to head the band Deadboy and the Elephantmen, and their former guitarist Sammy Duet went on to play with Crowbar for a while (another great New Orleans-based metal group). Its very sick, aggressive stuff (just look them up and look at their album covers to get an idea), but if you are in the mood for it (which, to be honest, I'm not in very often nowadays), there's nothing like it.
  12. I would love to get the original, purple haired Psylocke. But I don't see that ever happening in any toy line.
  13. I would think a Captain Britain/classic Kitty Pryde pack (with Lockheed) would sell very well. It could be released in an X-Men spin-off wave (with X-Factor (classic Beast/Multiple Man. . .though maybe they could release 2 Multiple Men together in a single pack!), X-Force (the Milligan/Allred team!), New Mutants (Sunspot, Cannonball, Warlock, Deadpool), and Excalibur figures). . .I can dream, can't I?
  14. If you let the next video start after that trailer, there is an interesting breakdown of what the game might be like. I really like the idea of keeping it 2-D, but adding complexity to it beyond the stuff from the Marvel vs. Capcom games, in terms of reversals, combos, etc. The old game was limited in many ways, after all. I guess we'll have to wait and see, though. With Resident Evil 5, GTA IV, and now this, color me glad to have a 360
  15. Wow, that looks beyond awesome (I just opened a SOTA Previews Ryu yesterday, so I'm definitely in the retro-Street Fighter vibe). . .the only drawback is that I fear the fighting mechanics will be similar to modern fighting games (Tekken, Soul Caliber, Virtua Fighter, etc.), where its a lot more complex than the original Street Fighter. I've never really gotten far beyond "button-mashing" on these newfangled games, but maybe this will be the impetus for me to really learn how to play one, and then maybe I won't view it as a drawback after all. Any news on if the entire original cast will show up, or if they will do like SF 3 and throw in 3 or 4 originals with a bunch of new characters?
  16. I bet it would be pretty easy to find a scale Gorilla to put in there as Monsieur Mallah. Throw Roadblock's bullet belt over a shoulder (from the Joe 25th line), get a Dragon/BBI scale beret, and you are on your way to having the Brotherhood of Evil.
  17. I thought about modding my MPSS, but it would require that I get a working power drill and, maybe, a dremel. Its just not worth the effort, IMO. I like him how he is, though his face is a little lacking. . .
  18. I feel kind of bad that, now that I have finally found a lot of Joes in the stores, I've become those people that I hated before. I now have about 6 troopers from wave 2. But I really do like having a legion of nameless, faceless evil-doers. Plus, they are just about the coolest looking things around.
  19. Looks great! Did you ever get that table finished, or rather, did you find chairs of the proper scale?
  20. I was just thinking last night about trying to find my old N64 so that I could play some Goldeneye. When I was in college, me and my buddies would spend hours upon hours playing that game.
  21. I can call you Betty, and Betty when you call me you can call me Al. Seriously though, just call me Sam. Kara's a (Super)girl's name.
  22. Its probably best just to keep calling Wal-Mart, Target, Toys R Us, and other stores like Gameware and EB Games every couple of days. Some of them might have an idea when a shipment will arrive, some won't (and some shipments will be stocked when a store opens in the morning, but some others may stock at different times in the day). Since so many people are still trying to get the dang thing, you will have to be persistent if you want to get one. My mom was trying to get one for my nephew, but gave up a couple of weeks ago as she could never get to a store before they sold out (probably by scalpers putting them on eBay). To be safe, though, I would have a back-up plan in case you can't get the Wii. On a related note, I can't believe its been out one year and Nintendo still can't meet demand.
  23. That's a really cool thing to do. Big props Lobsterman!
