  1. Your link appears broken Zach, but your reference reminds me of this:
  2. For this poll, we're going back to X. But this time, it'll be classic heroes & allies. Who's at the top of your want list? Instead of an army builder poll, I am posing a question: Who is your favorite Starjammer?
  3. Our champion this round is Deathlok, the Demolisher! Machine Man came in second with a strong showing, and 70s Captain Britain wasn't too far behind.
  4. Prowler / Octopus Rogue / Gambit Iron Man / Iron Doom ?
  5. Unmade vill is a "he" IIRC. A "renaissance" lately. Largely unchanged costume. If Iron Man, could be Ghost. But his costume today is very different that it used to be. If Spidey, could be Tinkerer, Silvermane, Puma, Tombstone... Who's had a dang renaissance? Prowler? Prowler looks mostly the same. My Rogue guess was based on "new hero look that could pass for classic". And it has to be an x-man by process of elimination.
  6. Final victory goes to... Grey Gargoyle Second place goes to the Super Adaptoid! Lost to GG by a single vote! Attuma nabbed third. And finally, by a landslide, your Avengers Army Builder... the Sons of the Serpent! As always, thanks for playing & keep your eyes open for the next poll.
  7. Yeah, Pete was pretty square back then.
  8. This poll's been rambling on for a couple weeks now, I'll give it another nudge to see if we can grab a couple more responses before I call it. Egghead, anyone? anyone? anyone?
  9. I am having a psychic intuition that an Avengers Rogue in a green jumpsuit is in this wave.
  10. I would certainly be interested in Marvel Conan box sets, but DST would have to license them from Dark Horse first (which I hope they do someday).
  11. The 70s were an era of experimentation for Marvel - they branched out into new genres, and tested all sorts of new hero concepts in comics like "Marvel Premiere" and "Marvel Presents." Some characters who are now household names (at least to comic book fans) were born of this era. And there are a lot of great, colorful options here. These characters all had titles or runs of some sort in the 1970s, and all had bitchin' fonts designed for their titles. This poll also marks a break from army builders, for now.
  12. Been a week, time to shake a few more votes loose from this tree. The next poll may be slightly more exciting.
  13. Yeah, we can be pretty harsh (unintentionally) when things don't line up with our personal wants. I see a lot of - and I'm guilty of this too - really wanting the animated line to be an additional outlet for 616 characters whenever possible, when that's not actually the spirit of the line. I'm quietly bummed whenever I can't use a new character like Jackal as a 616 stand-in, because the animated look is just too far off, but I also don't want to condemn the line as teh suxx0rs just because it isn't filling gaps from the main line LCS releases. And yes Zach I'm trying to make you feel better.
  14. 51 votes snuck in, so it changes A LOT! Looks like a fairly massive tie for third now. I'll close the poll and and some pics to the summary post shortly.
  15. We were pretty quick to 40-something votes, but hanging on a couple shy of 50 here. The... anticipation... is... killing... me...
  16. Lava Men & the Sons doing well is not a surprise to me, but Grey Gargoyle is. Very interesting. I wonder if it's partially a function of what Gillbob mentions - we have a weird version of him, and that's created an appetite for a classic version?
  17. Seems like this poll is a healthy mix of "this is my jam!" with "who the heck...?" If you're a very X-focused fan, you're forgiven for not knowing key Avengers villains. Thankfully, everybody gets around at least a little in the 616. There are no wrong answers with army builders - if you don't know or don't care about them, don't worry about skewing the results, just pick the coolest looking one. It'll all come out in the wash, anyway. When we get to the "poll of polls", the best ones will float to the top & win.
  18. I'm with you here. I feel like FF & X villains have received much more love over these 15 years of MiniMates. There are a whopping amount of high-profile Avenger adversaries to be made.
  19. For this sixth poll, it's time to turn to classic Avengers villains. The army builders this time include a couple of left-field choices for depth - I know some of you have expressed that you're less interested in the builders, so feel free to vote on character aesthetics if you don't find yourself compelled by any of the choices. Take a look:
  20. BD, you're psychic! After 10 of these, I'm planning to do a Poll of Polls of all the winners. By the time we get there, it should represent a nice cross-section of the 616.
  21. This round has been pretty fun - there's clearly a lot of desire for supernatural characters, and there has been a great distribution of votes (save for poor Satannish who, as of 48 votes, is another for the no-vote pile). Our winners can be declared - Classic Brother Voodoo, with the Mindless Ones as the winning army builders. Baron Mordo is first runner up, and Classic Dormammu pulled a photo finish for the tie And we finish with a crazy 4-way tie for third place!
