Comics in the US come out on Wednesdays, unless there is a holiday on Monday then it is pushed till Thursday. This is because the major distributor of said vice is Diamond. You can always check what is coming out by checking Diamond's Website. Most LCS's get their toys from Diamond and thus get them on Wednesday. Toys usually do not have a hard street date and thus there are times where you can find the toy at other retailers earlier

So I think both sides are totally valid in this, I know, that is a wafflers stance. But I do believe that Matt actually has the more valid point. Matt entered the contest early and entered the category with least resistance, either by luck or design. Me, I was going to enter the contest but ran out of time and procrastination helped, but I had planned on entering either of the non'original' classes. I wanted to win. I like to win. I like to play when my chances of winning are good, I am not an eternal optomist and my guess is neither is Matt(icouldbewrong). Winning makes a person feel goodPERIOD So here ...who ever gets more votes between Mattalica and BannersID will get a free set of Marvel Zombies from me. I have mentioned and mentioned and screamed how much I love MMMV I guess this is my way of putting my money where my foot where my mouth is.

As much as I am loathe to admit it, I would have to say the Kubrick line is more successful. It started in Japan and Japan loves their small collectables. The Kubrick has covered a far greater number of licenses and been able to produce more popular characters quicker. They have a very simple design which is barely modified for most of their figures. Thus enabling them the ablity to make new lines quicker based on its strength.

Personally I think AA has done an amazing job at conveying real person characters with very simple lines and sculpted pieces. I was just commenting to my wife how much I love the original 3" ST mates, because they basically carry the figure with 3 maybe 4 lines. They found the exact details that would make the perfect characerization of the person. I think DeForest Kelley's normal face is conveyed perfectly with the few details they use even in the 2" version. I will admit I have not checked the BTTF, 24, and FAFDM, mates super close but they seem to have the same amount of simple design with maximum impact. I love the fact that most of the real world characters seem to be expressed through simpler means. Oh so this isn't just a huge thread jump... Make Final Fantasy VII mates I would kill for a Sephoroth and Cloud 2 pack.

So we need to come up with a mascot for our day. You know like Easter has the Easter bunny, Christmas has Santa Clause and Halloween has The Great Pumpkin. This way we can have a "secret (Minimate Day Mascot)" where we all swap gifts.

So one of my LCSs went to the recent Retailer Convention here in Fort Wayne and was able to grab up a bunch of the Hunt Mates. I'm curious if DST made a million of these guys for give aways this year or if they just thought they would need more and now are just giving them away like ice in alaska.
