  1. I'm with you, BHM. There's only so much coddling manufacturers can do. At some point consumers have to take responsibility. This is what we get for living in such a litigious society. I blame Battlestar Galactica.
  2. Per safety testing, the country of origin, manufacturer, and other information must be included on the product. I haven't noticed the numbers you mentioned on the heads but that might be the CPSIA number, a code that gives consumers the info they need in the event of an emergency or recall. It's basically a place & time stamp letting you know where and when (down to which shift) the product was made. That way when you collapse after sucking on your 'mates all week, we'll know which batch had too much lead in it. But I don't think discerning the differences between the legs is the problem. It's the coverings. Even collectors don't even see the differences after they've been pointed out. Obviously the folks on the assembly line are having trouble seeing the subtleties as well.
  3. I have no idea what you're talking aboot. (I had that translated into Canadian English just in case.)
  4. If only the bases lit up.
  5. I don't see Carl surviving the show much longer. The actor is growing up noticeably faster than his onscreen counterpart. The best way to address that is to kill him off. But I'll buy every Walking Dead Minimate DST wants to throw at me so I'm not really picky.
  6. Would "of" be used immediately after "could?" Could "of" be used immadiately after "would?" In a couple instances, yes.
  7. And England is located in Canadia, right next to Ireland in Lake Superior.
  8. I just found that set at Kmart for $45. Even though they're currently having a BOGO half off sale on ImagiNext (that Oan Playset is tempting!), I think I'll wait 'til it goes on clearance. I'd want to make a raindy day project out of it and filthy it up. Anyway, I'm sure your son will appreciate the details someday. Always nice to see younger bat-fans out there and I'm glad there's age-appropriate product to help nurture the interest.
  9. I can't help wondering if they'll be offering sets more in the Minimates scale. Various shuttlecraft would be nice and a bridge playset could be cool, too.
  10. Dang. Now I want one. Very cool!
  11. Nice score there! Everything balances out.
  12. New costumes = new toy variants = more money. Personally I'd prefer they go back to their original outfits and concentrate on decent storytelling. That goes for everyone, not just Marvel.
  13. I don't recall ever having a problem with TRU.com shipping. Maybe I'm just lucky. Of course now that I've posted that, my Expendables 4-pack will arrive melted and covered in dog shit.
  14. So this new 616 Nick Fury is a "shoe-horning of an adaptation of a reimagining." Just want to get my geek terminology straight. Glad that's explained.
  15. Yeah, I'm having trouble understanding that as well. Of course it's not my money but I'm curious, too. Bad prior experience with TRU.com? Do they kill puppies? (Because then I'M gonna feel bad.)
  16. Check out Hasbro's Kre-O Enterprise. There's a neat little teaser trailer as well. This isn't my bag but as long as it doesn't interfere with my Trek 'mates, I'll allow it. Otherwise, fear my fanboy wrath!
  17. Five points for Gryffindor! I saw pictures elsewhere of people using this tiny Batsignal with 3 3/4" and even 6" figures but when I saw it, I immediately though of Minmates. It's perfect. And I hear you on a Batcave playset. I'm hopeful that they're calling it a playset because they intend to make it out of less expensive plastic rather than polystone or resin, otherwise they'd split hairs and call it a diorama. Playset implies some play feature. Either way I'm sure they'd do a great job but price vs. value is obviously the deciding factor.
  18. Right. But we covered this. They're not Black Cat predates modern Cat Woman. And Selina Kyle's "The Cat" predates Harvey's "Black Cat." So there. All I'm saying is that MARVEL'S Black Cat owes an awful lot to DC's Catwoman, kinda like Marvel's grinning Green Goblin looks suspiciously like a certain Clown Prince of Crime. Not saying they're identical, of course, but one's clearly inspired by the other.
  19. Actually, yeah, they do blow now. Read on: G4’s “X-Play” got the first look at the new Con Exclusive from DC Collectibles – an all-new Green Lantern two-pack action figure set that will only be available to San Diego Comic-Con attendees. The DC Comics Super Heroes Kyle Rayner & Kilowog Action Figure 2-Pack is the first in an entirely new line of action figures sized at 3.75” from DC Collectibles. This new scale will only be available at conventions. Priced at $25 for the set, the figures are super-poseable and very detailed. Make sure to stop by the Graphitti Designs booth (#2315) during the convention to get your exclusive 2-Pack set and keep an eye out for other 3.75” figure exclusives from DC Collectibles at future conventions! And don’t miss the DC Collectibles panel on Thursday, July 12 from 1:00 – 2:00pm in Room 5AB. Twenty-fives bucks is about what I expected. However, I certainly didn't expect the ENTIRE LINE to be a convention exclusive. That sucks balls, and not in the fun way.
  20. If DC Collectibles ever gets around to making that, it would make a great diorama for DC Minimates.
  21. It looks like he might have a cut joint at the gloves. Harder to tell on his left arm but the right might reveal it. I agree that the ab articulation is a bit much but for some reason it's not bothering me. Geez. And I just inadvertently gave up collecting Star Wars figures in this scale because I haven't been able to find any since January. Maybe the universe was preparing me for this.
  22. You don't get to hate Snarf. People hold you to a higher standard.
  23. I've been waiting years for DC Direct to offer 3 3/4" figures. I knew they had prototypes sitting on their shelves long ago but the powers that be never did anything with them. Now DC Collectibles is offering a 2-pack of fully articulated 3 3/4" scale Green Lantern figures as SDCC exclusives. I can't say I'm thrilled about that part of the news but hopefully they'll be made available after the show through their online venue. Check out the video here. Here's a pic of Kilowog:
  24. And check out this video what DC Collectibles will "hopefully one day will make." At the 1:42 mark Geoff Johns shows a prototype of a light-up Oa Playset that looks a bit wee for the upcoming 3 3/4" line but seems perfect for Minimates. So nice to hear that DCC is willing to try new things. Maybe they can put a bug in WBCP's ear about licensing DC to DST.
