  1. Day 3's figure is posted. Gotta get working to see if I can stretch this out longer than a week.
  2. Thanks guys... Let's kick this bitch up, and do another Custom Figure A Day Event... I realized I've got enough new stuff to keep you all coming back for a week. Day 2 is posted a bit early, but posted none the less... Feedback is always appreciated. See you all tomorrow.
  3. I was on vacation for a whole week awhile back. In the span of that week, I was able to finish up seven new figures. Today, I'm posting one of the first I got done. (I've still got to shoot the rest of them). Yeah, DC's making him eventually, but I'm very happy with the way that mine turned out. He's in this lovely color. Feedback, as always, is appreciated... I'll be shooting more tonight, so you can expect some more by weeks end.
  4. Jeez... You'd think that maybe he was going to wear a black costume in the movie or something...
  5. There's a big difference between Sculpey and Super Sculpey. Sculpey is (in the big, blocked bricks) white and is aLOT softer than Super. I've never like Sculpey. I had to get some "in a pinch" years ago, and ended up throwing the whole brick out... Crappy stuff. Spend the extra bit and go for the Sculpey, your temper will thank you for it.
  6. I use Super Sculpey. It holds the detail better and is easier to work with than the plain old regular Sculpey. Like TBT! said, wrap the head (or other part) in tin foil before sculpting onto it. I usually will take a 1" strip (for a 2" figure head), and fold that over in two lenght wise. Now I've got a 1/2" strip (about the right height of the head, with a bit to fold over the top. Wrap it around the head two or three times. This will give you enough of a cushion to deal with shrinkage. Sculpt the part. Remove the sculpt and the tin foil. I use a toaster oven to cure everything. Set the heat low. I usually turn the know until the 'oven turns on. I haven't burnt a part in a long while... To avoid fingerprints in the part, I wear latex gloves. Don't get in a hurry. Removable parts take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes pretty easy. The super glue trick also works great. I've saved many a thin part by putting a coating of glue on it. I'm working on a headpiece right now that I've broken about 6 times while cutting and sanding. Once I coated it, it's solid.
  7. I got 'em. The Racer X paint apps are horrendous. I looked through about 10 before I found a couple decent enought to warrant buying. I agree that Speed needs his helmet. It's odd that they didn't include one. Guess I'll have to make my own...
  8. I got a Longshot at Wal-Mart tonight. It's odd that the only figure I wanted out of the line was the only one that they had... I may have to pick up the rest of this series, though... I needs me a giant Mojo figure. I'm less than impressed with the Longshot... His legs are so rubbery that he can barely stand, and his torso joint is really loose... Super nice mullet though...
  9. Just picked up Gojira tonight.... I've always wanted to see the original version. Now I can, in gloriously subtitled Black and white...
  10. Nothing down this way. I went tonight, and all that TRU had was the diecast cars with the preposed figures... I was almost excited until I realized it wasn't the Minimates... I'll check back later this week. My TRU usually gets their trucks on Wednesdays, and have everything put out by Thursday...
  11. K-Mart seems to be the place to get the Sigma 6 around here... All five of my Sky Bats came from different K-Marts. I never even saw that figure anywhere else. I did get the new wave about a week ago... Destro is the stand out star, but I really like the Arctic Duke and the Jungle Snake-eyes... especially the Snake-eyes... There's just something about it that I really like...
  12. I saw the second series at TRU Thursday night... At least a Venom and a Green Hulk. Whose the third figure this wave? As far as wave 1 goes, I've looked everywhere for the fraking regular, masked Cap... No luck. I've passed up about 6 of the unmasked ones, though...
  13. Man, from the title of the thread, I was expecting zombies...
  14. All of them look great as usual Nervous. Love the cake topper figures... My wife wouldn't go for anything that awesome... Your girlfriend's sister is too cool... Majestic... What can I say? One of my favorite comic characters of all time, and you've nailed him perfectly. I'm adding him to my list of most wanted.
  15. Nice work all around, Vash. Your paint apps look nice and clean. Really like the Robin and City of Heroes guy... What's his name? Really, Really like the Captain Marvel... Great idea on dying the clear figure...
  16. Awesome! I wanted to do some Silent Hill figures after I came out of the theater, but gave up on the idea. I'm really digging yours Luke. Makes me want a Pyramid Head even more... Creepy Nurses next? Also, what's the background/base from? Looks cool.
  17. Dark Stalkers had nothing to do with this line failing. The lack of availability at retail doomed this line. These should have been in every GameStop or EB in every mall... They weren't.
  18. Can't say as I'm surprised. Nobody can compete with Best Buy on pricing for CD's... Tower's toy section on the website hasn't been updated in forever, either, so it's not that big of a loss if they go under... I know they were a supporter of the line since way back, but they haven't shown us much love lately...
  19. Infinite Crisis at Zero Hour on Infinite Earths 2: Electric Boogalo
  20. Hell, give it a couple years, and they'll do it again, again...
  21. I think it was a problem with too many Street Fighter lines in general... Other than the SOTA figures, there's a couple of other lines that always seem to have figures in Previews as well. Too many choices as to where to get your next Chun-Li... Plus, to a non-Mini collector, the SOTA figures are a bit more appealing. If I didn't love Mini's, and was looking for a sweet Street Fighter figure, I'd be going with the SOTA figures. Also might be a bit of a problem with finding these... I don't recall seeing them in any of the video game stores around here, other than the Game Crazy / Hollywood Video exclusive "Wave"... If these had been in EB or GameStop, hell, even in Best Buy next to the PS2 accessories, they would have sold a ton more I think... I'm truly sad that we might not see the second wave. I agree with Danny that they're some of the better Minimates, but I'm not sure they're some of the better Street Fighter toys...
  22. Today, I've got 1 brand-spanking new figure done for you all... I've also got a quick up-date to an old figure... They are both in the Marvel section and in this lovely shade of purple. Honestly, I do quicker work than this. It's been over a month since my last update, and I've got more than this done... I really do... I'm just waiting to finish up another figure, then I'll upload a whole group. Also, I've been building parts like a man possessed! I've got three figures built, ready for paint, but the store's out of primer...
  23. That's what I think of everytime I see this thread... It always gets my hopes up... Let's see some pics Chameleon...
  24. Dang! Any demons come crawling out of the hole?
