I used a bluntish blade by itself and just scrapped it down the handle, pulling it towards me... i guess you could say i was shaving it really. (the blade was virtually pointed straight down onto the handle not very far off 90 degrees) It took about 5 minutes for each gun, with really thin shavings coming off each time but it was easy enough. This way you can keep checking it with the minimate hand to make sure it fits snug. If you're gonna try this method, be carefull and watch your fingers!!

I only want the Willem Dafoe mate so i can pose him like the picture below... the others aren't important to me. (by the way, is it just me, or is the Willem Dafoe mate really ugly) One thing i've thought of though... With all these moviemates coming out, customizers are gonna have a field day making other movie characters played by the same actors. The list for potentials is huge already!!

I'm just using a little 7 megapixel point and shoot from Pentax. I would say one thing though... Whatever camera anybody uses, irrelevent of price/quality, make sure you light the subject with as much light as you can! I'm not going to go into a load of technical jargon to explain why... but this way you'll get the best results possible from the camera you are using. So do not underestimate the importance of light... it's far more important than the quality of the camera!! A crap camera with good lighting will wipe the floor with a brilliant camera with crap lighting. (I must admit though, i just used my ceiling light for my photo's, but i'm sure i could make them look a hell of a lot better if i did it properly.)

It's probably been mentioned before, but i'm not looking through 15 pages of posts to see if it has... but i'm gonna say Quantum Leap!!

Hey Matt, If you do want to take up Deadpools suggestion of using thumbnails... help is here. I've replied to the question you asked in the support section about how to do it. I've just changed all mine over to thumbnails, it was a bit of a pain to do, but it didn't take as long as i thought it would. Cool Blue Devil by the way... even though i have no idea where it's from... or why it's blue!?

Kind words... thanks guys! Me and you are certainly thinking alike Deadpool, i will be using a drill on one or two of their zombie ass's!! And before anyone says it... No, i'm not giving them arseholes! the punisher=D and buttheadsmate: If you 2 say they're cool as they are, then that's good enough for me... but y'know when an idea enters your head and you have to act on it... well i've got a few ideas and i think i'm gonna roll with them, hopefully they'll look better afterwards!? I'll try not to go too overboard though!

You know what... i'm really glad you brought up them needing to look a bit more zombie-ish. I think i hadn't looked at them with a critical eye since i made my first one. I've been thinking all day and i've got a few really good ideas of what i can do to them and it should be fun tio implement the changes too. Check back every once in a while and hopefully soon, i'll have my changes posted.

The criteria for a Marvel Zombie IMO, is white eyes, shaded faces, black mouth, white pointy teeth and splashes of black. The reason for the black is because it reminds me of Sean Phillips art style and the look of the Marvel Zombies comic. They are basic i admit, but so's my customising talent!! But you are right, they do need something more and i do intend to rough them up a little bit over time... a bit off here, a hole here, a exposed bit of insides here, a flappy dead bit here... you get the picture. Thanks for the comments anyway, you have definatley got me thinking of ways i can improve them. Hmmmm...?

Thanks, not sure i'll ever find hair suitable for Michonne, but i've got her katana on stand by if do. The guvenor is more likely, just need to find a head with hair in a pony tail... any ideas anyone? Apart from the more updated Rick i plan to do, my next TWD custom was just going to be random zombie to put with Rick.

I use Photobucket too, but i couldn't find a way to post thumbnails, which when clicked, open up into full size pictures. I posted the IMG link from Photobucket and it did reduce the size, but only to about 60% of the original picture. I've tried everything on Photobucket, but nothing there seems to work, so instead, i saved the pictures i have on Photobucket to my desktop and used the "attachments section" below where you type when posting. I used the "browse" button to find each picture, "uploaded" it and in the position i wanted to paste it, i simply selected it in the "manage current attachment" bar and hit the "insert" icon. That finally gave me thumbnails, which when clicked... open out to my full picture. Wish i would have known about this when i first started, would have saved me loads of time! Hope that helps and here's an example. One thing i have just noticed though, if you don't paste the pictures link into your text at the position of your choosing, but you still have uploaded it into the attachments section, it displays the picture at the end text automatically.

Rambo (Also posted in this threads first post, so to keep them all my customs in one place) A quick custom here based on... or blatently copied from ersatz Rambo custom. Rocky’s head and body, Ryu’s hair painted black and Blades legs. The guns came from Brick Arms but, I had to shave the handles down to make them fit. James Bond (Also posted in this threads first post, so to keep them all my customs in one place) Again, a quick custom i copied from other MMMV members. I’d previously seen this made with a open jacket, but decided to go with a closed jacket here just to be some what different. I’ve posted 2 pictures, the only difference being the gun. The jacket came from Patch, which i painted it black. The guns came from Brick Arms but, I had to shave the handles down to make them fit. Neo - The Matrix (Also posted in this threads first post, so to keep them all my customs in one place) This was made in about 30 minutes with spare parts from Blade. I removed the stakes strapped to his Jacket, trimmed the point of hair above the glasses and cut a old Dare Devil mask up to use as the back of his hair, because Blade’s original hair only came half way down the back of his head. The guns came from Brick Arms but, I had to shave the handles down to make them fit. The main bulk of it came from the 24 2-pack, Andre Drazen’s legs, Jack’s feet and shirt (painted blue), with Bruce Wayne’s head and Superman’s hair. The belt around his body is just black tape sliced thinly, with silver painted dots and I’ve also added a few cuts and scars. The chainsaw is a Lego chainsaw I bought from a seller on Brick Link. I chopped the body in half added wire for the handle and a old wrist gauntlet so it can be changed easily with the metal hand which is just a hand and wrist gauntlet glued together The gun came from Brick Arms but, I had to shave the handle down to make them fit. Rick Grimes - The Walking Dead (Also posted in this threads first post, so to keep them all my customs in one place) Seein how DST will never be making any "The Walking Dead" mates… i’ll have to do it myself! I’ll have to with till I get a cowboy hat before i’ll call this one completely finished, but it’ll do for now. I’m really happy with this one, even got all the small details such as the bandaged right hand The axe is a Lego chainsaw i bought from a seller on Brick Link and the guns came from Brick Arms but, i had to shave the handles down to make them fit. Here’s a reference pic for anyone who’s never came across Robert Kirkman’s “The Walking Dead”, from Image Comics. Below is the head of my next Rick Grimes custom from later on in the comic after he’s had his hand chopped off and been roughed up a bit, but I’ll have to wait for the Silence of the Lambs set, so i can get a orange prison jump suit. I’m using the same head as i used for the Rick Grimes above, but on the one above i scrapped his stubble off so there’s more of a difference between how they look.

In this update, i've got 2 versions of Spiderman from the Spiderman: Reign comic! (Also posted in the opening post of this thread, along with all my other customs) Not too keen on these two, thought they'd look more interesting than they turned out... you can't win them all. The head i used for 'old man' Spiderman belongs to Andre Drazen from the 24 set and i used the Things hand for the cast on half naked Spiderman. If you haven't read this title... here's a few reference shots from the comic.
