  1. From my understanding, the "2-packs" are specialty-market (shops that order through diamond previews)and the "4-packs" were to be a TRU exclusive(at least initially). Why would they sell the 4-packs in the same specialty-market that is carrying 2-packs? That makes no sense what-so-ever! Also, if history repeats itself, the 4-packs should be more economical(like the Marvel sets).
  2. It was originally stated that TRU would be carrying these(back when classic was first followed by modern...for Oct.), but who knows if that's still the plan. Never heard about Target, although seeing how they seem to carry more MMs than TRU lately, it would seem a better possibility. Hopefully we get some "official" news soon.
  3. I do not believe what I read in the press anymore. Therefore, the only logical solution is for Grace Park to personally bring me a set for a "private-viewing". GRRRRRR! Yeah, that would convince me!
  4. Huh, interesting. So the majority would have been equally pleased with a 2" Galactus? Or in the (unlikely)event of a 2" Puck(Alpha Flight)? I'm amazed at how many of you are bothered by a 1/2" difference to reflect the difference in specific character's stature; they're STILL "mini". Sure the graphic nature of Minimates lends itself to more leaniency in scale than a more realistic action figure (Wolverine and others are acceptable), but some characters are drastically larger(or smaller) than others and this is very much an important part of their character's persona. I'm not a huge "scale-nazi" or anything (especially where MMs are concerned), however I do believe that "minor" details(such as height and/or girth:Kingpin, Doc Ock for example) better capture a character's essence where neccessary. If you were to remove the chest-pieces, are they as convincing? I don't think so. So why would you be content with a Hulk(or "sprout" as I like to call him:Green Giant commercial reference) that is the same (actually shorter) height as Electra and Gwen Stacy?
  5. They look the same to me, although the Ares does appear smaller. I hope that it's just an illusion!
  6. That I can understand(although it would have been glorious!), but what exactly (besides the previous contract) is hindering this from happening in the specialty-market Marvel line? Competition(I know that MegaBloks has a license), a pre-set timeline for existing contract, or just an unwillingness to revise a new contract? What makes the other licenses (besides being different contracts with different companies) exceptional?
  7. I totally agree on the "new characters" part, but what if somewhere down the line they could slip-in a 2.5"Hulk with an Abomination, Juggernaut/ classic Beast(or other X-Men), or a new Thanos with say Adam Warlock(or Nova,etc.). Not all at once, but spread-out over a few waves that were completely new. These would themselves be new figures with different paint app.s(not an exact re-issue). Or perhaps as Exclusives of some sort(con, AFX, etc.)? The point being that all larger-sized characters in the near future would (new and a very few old) be appropriately (well, for minimates) scaled.
  8. Ok, we all know that the original contract for DST's minimates were strictly limited to 2" (and NO vehicles). Now that DC mini's have broke the scale-barrier with 2.5", can we expect a revision to the original Marvel contract? This question has been burning in my head since I first saw the promo-art for the new DC line, and I can't believe that no one has addressed this yet(then again, I'm sure that their hands are extremely full at the moment trying to juggle all of these new releases). Does anyone have any info pertaining to this, or how long the original license was for?
  9. I would assume "classic" since he's paired with his old comrade Deadman. Man, this is great news! While I would love to "knock-out" all of Batman's rogue gallery and allies in 1-2 waves (I'm really impatient to fill an Arkham Asylum!), I kind of like how balanced this seems to be; there's a little for everyone(well, maybe not EVERYONE...but a good start!). It may take a little longer before we all have our favorites, but at least they're making an effort to reach everyone unlike the X-tremely unbalanced and X-centric Marvel Mini's(sheesh, what a mess!). If only Marvel's were released in this fashion we might already have a Thor, Dr. Strange, Namor, etc., etc. instead of multiple variations of the same f#@%ing X-Men over, and over, and....ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzz.....
  10. This one screams special box set... and I'd buy this in a heartbeat!!! T. Hell YES!! Especially if it was followed with Dreaming box-set with: Cain, Abel, Mervin, Lucian, Lucifer, Mazikeen, etc. I really wish that they would do more box-sets. In that respect, instead of spreading-out "story-arc-specific" character variations over the course of what 1-2 years, you could get them all at one time(or not if it's not to your liking). For example: "All-Star Comics" golden-age characters or JSA or "Knightfall", "Crisis", etc. Although it may be a liability if there isn't enough interest in a particular series that could cause over-stock and therefore ultimately hurt the line, I think that there are plenty "classics"(old and new) that we would all agree on. I just really get burned-out when I have a favorite figure and I have to wait 2-3 years before I have their counterparts (team-members or villans) IF I ever get them!
  11. Yeah, the GSXM cases finally appeared in Missouri (still haven't seen Wolv./ Iceman or new 4-packs). I only grabbed one Prof. X/ D.Phoenix(the wife was with me and I had bought a ton of toys earlier), but there were 2 complete cases (4 Spid. BR/Sand., 3 Cycl./Storm, 3 Colos./N.Crawler, 2 Prof.X/D.Phx. each). I'll try to go back for some more if anybody needs them (when the "boss" isn't watchingLOL). Prof. X is pretty cool, although his suit is a brighter blue (like Cyclops) than I had imagined and the bald-head has a freak'in peg-hole in the top WTF!?! Luckily, I have an extra Prof. X head from the first release to swap-out. D.Phoenix is practically the same(also with a peg-hole despite the fact that neither the hair or Cerebro have pegs), but the way that AA is painting the costumes lately there is a lot of "frozen-joints"(never had this before with MMs) so be VERY careful when first posing. All-in-all I'm pretty satisfied with set and would like to get some more. Prof.X's suit could make for a cool "Clark Kent" custom and the "shiny" wheelchair could go to my Oracle custom(so she no longer has to share Xavier's!!).
  12. Ah yes, the "ceremonial un-masking". Hey, I think I can see the "shadow of the bat"! Damn comics-code.
  13. Yeeeah, not real excited by these. Don't get me wrong, they look great and all(from the back) but I was really hoping for more "comic" minis (preferably non-X men...unless it was a classic beast, angel, etc.). This is great news for everyone that had been wishing for these, but I too fear that this is simply pushing-back the time tables for other Marvel characters and other lines for that matter. This really should have been a separate release and done much earlier imo.
  14. ^But then you'd be missing the variant/chases! Do you really think that you live with yourself if you didn't have a gold commander to lead your troops or a bloody "just-ripped-out-your-heart" Centurian?! C'mon man, that's the whole reason to cave for this marketing ploy! I was originally planning to troop-build with the vehicle/figure asst.(and I'm sure I still will), but "Goldy" is essential!
  15. ...and no mention of the "classic"line? I realize that the plans had changed to release the "new"BSG first (and wisely so based on its current popularity), but they didn't even mention the "classic" series. Not insinuating that the line is in trouble(we all know that we're getting 2 Cylon army-builders) or anything, but I thought that it was odd that they didn't even make a reference to it despite the fact that they listed practically every other license AA has produced.
  16. Are you sure it wasn't the trunk of a "Cappy"? Cappy, you'd better re-count your mini's! How did you know?. Apparently he borrowed TBT's caddy that day. LMAO! You see AA?! THIS is what happens when mini's production is delayed and they can't find good homes...they resort to car-jacking!! BTW, thas'a fly-ride "T-Dawg"; I hope you get it back soon!!

  18. I can vouch for Cornerstore Comics (ordered quite a few C3s with no problems). The best way, really is to simply do a search and compare prices and shipping. Also, splitting the cost with a buddy is a good way to go. As far as LCSs in my area, no one carries MMs unless you specifically pre-order them(by the case) from Previews. I can understand not wanting to sit on over-stock, but it seems unlikely that anyone that isn't already a MM fan will ever know of their existence (sad, sad, sad) unless they are visibly displayed or promoted. With the previous price-hikes (I used to receive a 10% discount in addition to reasonable price without paying any shipping!) and unreliability of Diamond Dist. , I've given-up and only buy sets from on-line stores. I may return to buying cases if DC and BSG ever get released...we'll see.
  19. $10 says there on Brandon's shelf as we speak... $20 says they will find their way to an ebay auction (ala: Palisade's protos.)!! Their promises are meaningless and without shame. Good-Luck with that.
  20. Are you sure it wasn't the trunk of a "Cappy"? Cappy, you'd better re-count your mini's! Originally, I purchased all of mine by the case from the local LCS, however as shipments inflated in price and became unreliable, I've resorted to on-line shops. Occasionally, I pick-up custom-fodder from Target.
  21. In all the protos I've seen of Bats, his cowl has had the face added on for these new DCD mates. The battle damaged Bats has a different face under the cowl than the one painted on the cowl. An interesting take on the mask, but I think I like the three dimensional aspect of having layers with the mask cut out over the face. I like "layered masks" better too. I always thought that it would have been cool if AA painted two faces on each side of the head(like LEGO) to achieve different expressions. But, I guess this is their mandatory-need to differentiate themselves from companies! It's not so bad on Batman, but this new approach really looks odd on characters like Harley Quinn(the head appears bigger than normal).
  22. What I fail to understand is "why has it devalued the original"? Are you all planning to retire on your collections? Who cares?! The "originals" will always be originals based on their production-date and the unique box. It's been done with Rhino, Grey Hulk, etc. before; this is nothing new. The only real complaint that I can find is that it is temporarily delaying the release of new figures(for those up-to-date with their collections); I'm so tired of seeing the same stuff. But honestly, if re-releases are what it takes to keep them in business, then so be it. I'd personally like to see some new face-app.s too (for variety, NOT to ensure the "exclusivity" of my originals...I open mine!), but this is very cost-prohibitive as tampo-molds are not cheap to produce. For those who may have been late-in-the-game and paid too much to acquire their box-sets, I am truly sorry. But patience has always been the name-of-the-game when it comes to collecting anything.
  23. My guess would be: 1 chrome 1 chrome 1 gold 1 bloody 1 stealth 1 bttl. dam. 4 bttl. dam. 4 gun-hand 5 silver 5 slash-hand although it would have been nice to have more damaged "modern" Cylons than just one, as the regular line releases will undoubtedly be plain silver (they'd better come with BOTH sets of hands though!!). It seems that the "chromes" are the superfluous chases that serve no purpose other than to be exclusive, however, I'm kinda' disappointed that the "classic" gold commander is only one per case as it seems that many people (who are interested in this line)would want one. Hopefully, these lists are all wrong and we can get at least 2 (classic) gold, and 2 (modern) battle-damaged. Six figures with a limited-run of 500 each seems a bit extreme. I'm glad I ordered a case of each!
  24. BigBadToyStore.com is already taking pre-orders for each Cylon case (no individuals mentioned). I just ordered one of each for $53.99 per case. Not a huge discount, however, it should cover the shipping ($9.something)cost. I couldn't wait for the Previews solicitation on Wed. (sorry Xy!). Looks like Feb. is the earliest that we can expect these(damn!). Hopefully, the full-line will follow soon after.
  25. Weird, my "B"+) in the post above ^ automatically turned into a "cool" smiley! There is nothing "cool" about Hasbro's business practices! B-zarre
