There's definitely some scaling issues in Photoshop, but it may be a necessity of the Minimate body that she's a millimeter shorter than Chun-Li (who has a skirt piece) and Felicia (who has a tail). You can't really put in a spacer to give her height without giving her a giant belt or a bulky torso piece. I can't believe I am saying this, but hopefully they throw in some duck feet. Wait wait wait....are we really concerned about the size of Shulkie and not the size of MODOK?!?!?! In the picture, he doesn't have standard size Minimate arms and legs!!!! (I'm sure he will when he comes out, but still....)

Yup; I never buy Lego at TRU for this reason. Target & Fred Meyer in WA have regular sales, and if I want to pay msrp I am fortunate enough to have a Lego store 5 blocks from the TRU (nice for those TRU and WalMart exclusives). TRU really likes to gouge for the pleasure of having new year sets early.

Sorry, MM, but you are incorrect. Check Lego shop@home website for msrp. If you compare that to Target, they are usually the same (on very few occasions Target has an odd markup). Compare it to TRU, and you will see the insane price hikes. And, some of the new DC sets are actually coming in at the golden price point of 10 cents per piece, despite being a license.

TRU is known for marking up Lego, especially at the Holidays. If you can wait, there will be plenty at other retailers in the new year. I'll be getting the Luthor set and the Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape set. I like the minimate batplane and batmobile designs better than the current Lego sets.

DST would have to make an all-new ultra-mega-Liefeld chest piece for it to work. And new feet. I would expect the feet to be missing.

We used to say Modok would never be made... DST has shown a lot of innovation and growth with making characters from Marvel, Halo, Ghostbusters, etc. I wouldn't put it past them. Especially since you've thrown down the gauntlet.

While I applaud DST for trying something new with their LCS waves to boost sales, I think this wave is going to sell like wheatcakes. My LCS's don't even order minimates anymore, because sales were low. The owners complained that minimates could be purchased "at Target" so why carry them? (clearly he didn't know it was TRU only these days) Story themed waves that don't cross over with TRU is a great idea to try and generate more LCS sales, this just doesn't seem like the right story to start the experiment off with...

I for one will be enjoying these! That's not an official minifig, but it still beats the one I kitbashed in 1979! (though my Iron Man rocked!) They can coexist. I think they have different markets. If anything, some guys in suits with spreadsheets will decide that ROI on the licensing fees isn't working for their cash flow. Money (or the lack thereof) will kill Marvel minimates, not Lego.

I agree with you about the MB figs. How do you keep your MB sets together? My nephew is way into Halo, and I got him the first warthog set and another ship. He never opened the second one because his warthog was always falling apart.

He was a basically a Sentinel from the future (so there might've been more of them in that future, I'm not sure), but yeah, only one came back in time and was in the comics I think. There were a bunch of Nimrods in the recent Second Coming crossover, however, but they looked totally different. Shouldn't Nimrod be pink?
