I just bought the two 4 packs from ebay (I know I know, I just can't stay away) an absolute steal at £4.99 for both sets. I do like em but I think Danny makes a good point about the use of the 2.5 inch figure. While it looks right as far as the rest of the LOTR line goes it does clash with the rest of the minimate lines. I now have Marvel, DC, SFII and LOTR mini's on display and the LOTR figures do seem a bit jarring on the eye. Of course now I have my first few I've got to get the rest! Oh and Danny... Another great point mate. The Orc that comes in the Saruman set is just fantastic!

Hmmmm, there was an Earth 2 story done by Morrison and Quitely. If you've not read it check it out cos it's well worth a look. I wonder if the second Earth that Flash discovers is intended to make Morrison's Earth 2 canon? I'm only thinking aloud here as I'm not up to speed on DC continuity myself but I know the guy who's writing JLA has included Dark Knight Returns as one of the future scenarios.

Has anyone watched the DVD yet? Any good? I liked the last one, I know I'm in a minority on that but then again only dead fish go with the flow!

I think I ought to point out that I was looking at the protos while at work, and had forgotten that the resolution on my work monitor sucks! I mean seriously, It even makes me look bad in photos and I'm the prettiest bastard on the planet! So yeah, I'm sure the tampo detailing is going to be perfect on the production models. I remain to be convinced on the full face thing, Harley just looks wrong.

Tim, there are people on this board whose customs are far superior (in my opinion) to those protos. I'd be wetting myself if I did a custom that looked as good as them though.

Same here, and it looks the same for Harley Quinn too. I can't understand why they've opted for the slip over headpiece for Bats and Harley when Booster and Beetle both have cutaways? I still think we're looking at protos here. Some of them are nowhere near production quality, look at the paint apps on beetles boots and the thickness of the lines on some of the chest detailing. I'm still looking forward to DC mates, but warily.
