  1. Man, Brimstone is pretty awesome. Actually they all are. Keep going with this stuff.
  2. When I got started I wasn't so much a completist as An opportunist. I saw an opportunity to get mate, I took it. Then for a while I bought entire waves as they came because it was just good to have more. Now I'm just buying the things I want, along with a few of the newer lines (specifically Pirates and M.A.X.) because while none of them really scream at me right now, I can see where awesome things can come down the road and I want them to be able to continue on and get to that point. But with Marvel it really is cherry picking and taking the right moment to grab those that I do truly want. Which isn't to say I don't buy a few of the random ones here and there to add my support. That being said, I'm not against there being more Caps and Thors and what have you out there, it's just if you throw one of those guys in with someone we've never seen before, that's where the disdain comes from, I think. Now, I was happy to buy the Cap and Arnim Zola pack back before thanksgiving, and it wasn't actually for Zola. I actually wanted Cap for his Avengers Jacket, but that being said, if you take the jacket off and put on the standard Cap arms, I think that is the most perfect Captain America representation out there. It's simple and precise, which we need some times. So, at this point, I don't feel I need another standard Captain America ever. That said, it's fine with me that there are more out there. My thought really is just, if Caps and Thors and whatnot need to be on the shelves fairly often, maybe the best way to do it would be to always have them in the same packs, so those of us that Don't need them can get away with not feeling like we wasted money on a two pack when we only wanted half of it in the first place, let alone on two of them to get two new guys and two guys we don't see any need for (save the customizers). But then, that's most likely counter-intuitive from a business standpoint as splitting them forces more units to be sold and thus more money to be made. I understand that, I really do. It's just sometimes business is a shitty thing and we just have to surrender because there is no better option to keep the lines going. I dunno. I don't feel like thinking about this anymore. I'll just buy some stuff and not buy some other stuff and wait patiently for whatever's in the pipe.
  3. I am glad for the Ant Men. I'm not such a fan of Ant Man as a character, but since the only real helmeted Pym I have is the super old school Avengers Box, I am enthused to no end for these two. The main reason? For real? I love helmets. They are my favorite piece of anything ever. Every so often I find the minimates with helmets and have a Cool Helmet Parade, you know, because I'm an adult and can do whatever the heck I want. And the avengers movie wave might not be all that NEW new, but Black Widow and Hawkeye in the same pack? That's awesome for me. Now yeah, I don't need more Thors and Iron Men and Spideys and Caps, but hey, some people might. And as long as minimates keep existing and make enough money to keep going with main streamers for those of us "serious collectors" to get at least a few really awesome new mates a year is fine by me. I have spent an insane amount of money on minimates (or so I've been told) and having a few waves where I only have to grab a couple packs instead of entire sets several times a year, well that's alright by me. That being said, if someone over there doesn't get it together that Songbird should be officially released soon so I can have my Thunderbolts done, well I may just smash my face into a wall. Which is no big threat, since I do that pretty much any time something stupid happens to me. So thanks to everyone responsible for keeping minimates going (us here, especially) and here's to another ridiculous decade of some of the coolest little figures on the planet.
  4. The large Batmobile is 14 studs wide by 34 studs long and 10 Lego bricks high (all of these come from the widest parts of the car) My guess would be if using these specs, you'll probably want to add a bit on every side, because if not, the Batmobile would be incredibly snug in there, so better to have some space for maneuvering and all. Hope that helps.
  5. I assume you're talking about having the bigger Minimate Batmobile in there, and not the mini one. And as such I imagine it might be a bit wider than that lower area. I don't have a Batcave myself, but I'm looking at my Batmobile now and comparing them based on peg width of the driveway thing versus the actual Batmobile, it doesn't look like it will fit. I am just eyeballing it from pictures, so I might very well be wrong, but I think it'd would be easy enough to just make a wider lane if needed. Anyways this is really awesome. I've been out of Legos for a long time, but I still respect them and the unbelievable amount of cool stuff that can be done with them. And now that I have a nephew, I'm going to have to get more soon because I think every kid should have Legos to mess around with. I used to have a half dozen five gallon buckets full (probably more) but when my mom sold her house they were all in the basement and were either left behind or thrown out, and that still upsets me to this day. But thank goodness for the C3 Minimate sets. They have very quickly pulled my Lego interests back up and now I'm am buy some sets here and there and just dumping pieces into a bucket. Well, I build the thing first, say "That's neat" and then demolish it and dump it for silliness at a later date, because I have absolutely no place to display Lego things in my little apartment. I do have a small box of Legos left that I found in my basement a while back, and I have a couple of those mountain top pieces you're talking about. They are really neat for stuff and a great idea for a Batcave. I got them from a pirate island Set a long time ago. But that's my two cents. I'm going to keep an eye on this thread because I think some awesome ideas are going to come out of this.
  6. Ah, jokes at Aquaman's Expense. Merry Christmas, Every One.
  7. Good prizes too. Gotta get to work. I like Thanksgiving. Also are we allowed to, ahem, "get the judges Christmas presents"? wink wink nudge nudge and all that
  8. Too right. Of course, mine might not be happy with me with all the time he spent upside down today.
  9. Whew! More challenges done. Finally over halfway finished. Crap. I'm only halfway finished. Better get on that. Side note. After Jeopardy finished, this place is dead. I wonder if this emptiness is how Alex Trebek feels every day when the lights go down.
  10. Is Santa sitting in Darkseid's chair? Well, if anyone could get away with it...
  11. Well, then I'm glad I could be of help. And doing so, my own objective was achieved, so everybody wins.
  12. Prizes? Gasp shock! Wonder if there's a Martian in the Javelin or not. Hmmmmm....
  13. Nice to meet you. Wish I had the Bruce Wayne you're after, but mine is of the Stealth Batwing variety. But anything else you mig need, I'll help where I can. Anyways, good for you for coming back. There's no point in leaving anyways. I think they plant radio trackers in people like us when we sleep.
  14. Did you remember that because I asked you where it was, Luke?
  15. A few new entries up from me today. Really gotta get going on this now. Curse procrastination. Maybe. Tomorrow.
  16. That whole thing I was hearing read out in my head with the guy who does Thor's voice on the Superhero Squad show and I have to say, totally awesome. If DST won't put them out surely Santa and his merry band of elven day laborers would hear the pleas of all. Great comic. This should be some fun Christmas stuff.
  17. So long and thanks for all the fish So sad that it should come to this We tried to warn you all but oh dear... What?
  18. After Effects is kind of a bitch to get the hang of straight away. I spent four years working the sucker in college and sometimes I still don't think I have a clue what I'm doing. But some cool stuff here. I really like the second one, especially the backdrop with the hole in the wall. For whatever reason I find that to be a great touch to it. Just keep plugging away at it. You'll get where you want to be, eventually. I don't necessarily believe that, I just had a professor who said it all the damn time.
  19. Maybe, but you were really convincing in your math attack. I was scared.
  20. Am I supposed to pick? Is Nessex? Who the hell was right? Are we just moving on? Oh my god, the drama! Anyways, if it is to me, the Tis the Season $500. If it isn't then the hell with it.
  21. Hello and welcome. Flea Market From the main page just scroll all the way down to the bottom.
