Prowl-Ar's Customs: Last and Galactic Avengers

Recommended Posts

Here is the last of the StarHunters team.

Code Name: Doc

Name: Doctor Hans Hawke

Planet of Origin: Earth

Primary Specialty: Chief Medical Officer

Secondary Specialty: Cybernetics

Doc was perhaps the most gifted bio-cybernetics researcher on Earth in his time. His research and experiments was the foundation of the process that created the SilverHawks. Still he had one major character flaw, the fact that he tended to apply his skills and research to "upgrading" test subjects, lab assistants, fellow researchers and even himself with cybernetic components even if they didn't need them. Of course he rationalized that they did need the cybernetic replacement but that was after he had removed their inefficient biological components

Now that he is once again among living individuals he is excited to get back to his research. However nearly everyone has made it clear that they are not test subjects and if he tries to "upgrade" them they will make it impossible for him to ever continue his work. The only ones that haven't been clear on this are Riot, who is considering a more intimate connection with some of his "friends" and Pilotlight, who is actively interested in improving his aging mechanical components.

I forgot about this look! Was it a design, or an animation error?

I'm guessing you're asking about Panthro here. In the first episode with the exception of Jaga all off the Thundercats were basically nude (if a character is covered in fur then he or she isn't really nude) with only a few accessories like belts and boots.

As for the Brock custom the look comes from the episode where he lost his license to kill.

Now for tonight's custom the Neo Olympian Hera.

Codename: Hera

File Name: Taylor, Diana

Day Job: Botanist and Volunteer EMT

Powers: Plant control

Diana didn't really have a choice as to which God she became; her husband was gifted with the aspect of Zeus so naturally she became Hera, queen of the gods. Her new powers gave her complete control over all plant life as well as making her immune to all known poisons. She can also assess a plant's properties and know exactly how it can be used in potions and poultices.

Next up a new recruit for the XL universe.

Codename: Perfection

File Name: Caroline Howlett

Parents: James Howlett and Carol Danvers

Powers: Adamantium Bones, mutant healing factor, enhanced senses, enhanced strength and durability, flight, energy absorption and redirection, photographic reflexes, extensive knowledge of sorcery, teleportation, phasing

Perfection was created to be her Earth's ultimate warrior. With the proliferation of super powered beings being born the myriad galactic powers deemed that it had become to powerful and the only option was to depopulate the planet of all powered individuals as well as those carrying potential mutant genes leaving a remnant population of roughly a million individuals. Naturally humanity disagreed with this decision and all humans took up arms to defend themselves. Anyone with the potential to gain super powers were studied by the planet's greatest scientists, sorcerers, and organizations to discover ways to jumpstart those powers.

As the war ground on heroes fell and were replaced by the next but the attrition slowly but inexorably continued to reduce the ranks. With nearly all other options exhausted it was decided to begin artificially creating new heroes. Using genetic samples from some of the most resilient individuals and using non-powered surrogate mothers Generation Hero was created.

Perfection was one of the first children born in this new generation. The daughter of Wolverine and Captain Marvel she was destined for greatness still until she reached puberty and her mutation could kick in no one knew if she would actually have any powers. So like all the other members of her generation at age one she was injected with a genetic modifier from a randomly selected hero. In Perfection's case the mutant known as Mimic's power mimicry. Each year after that she received another injection in the hope that when she matured she'd develop at least one super power. Most of the children only received three or four injections before their bodies began to react negatively and the scientists could only hope that they would develop something only Perfection received all twelve injections.

When she was thirteen her powers began to manifest, the first was her super strength and invulnerability from her mother's Kree genes. With the development of these powers she was placed in a special school that would train her to use her abilities to their fullest as well as continuing to test to see if she would develop other abilities. At the age of sixteen, Perfection was fully trained and ready to enter battle. Unfortunately her first battle would be her last.

The Galactic Alliance finally agreed that the extinction of the human race was an acceptable loss. In a stunning twist of fate humanity was give one last chance to survive extinction when they were warned by Galactus to escape to any planet, dimension, or other worldly realm. During the evacuation Perfection stood with her fellow Heroes to hold off the final blow for as long as possible. In the end, as the sun went dark, she was the only one left. Using her Asgardian hammer to open a portal to that realm she was sickened to discover that while the heroes had been defending the evacuation the Alliance had committed the bulk of their forces to infiltrating the other realms and completing their agenda. Each successive portal she opened: the Negative Zone, Limbo, and even Mephisto's realm of Hell had been emptied of human souls. In complete despair Perfection turned to the one power that she had never allowed anyone to know she possessed the reality warping abilities she had gained from an infusion of Wiccan's DNA. She erased her entire reality from the multiverse believing, falsely, that in doing so she would be erased as well. Instead she woke up in the XL base infirmary.

While the XL are still mainly focused on returning to their own realities, they are now also searching for gateways that will allow for a planetary evacuation should a similar event take place in their adopted universe.

Now for the newest members of the Soldiers of Horror.

Codename: Junior

File Name: Frankenstein's Monster

Classification: Reanimated Human

Location Discovered: North Sea

Primary Specialty: Medic

Secondary Specialty: Infantry

Of course we'd all heard the story or at least some version of it. Dr. Frankenstein created a monster out of dead humans and brought it back to life. It made for good stories and movies but it just wasn't possibly real. Yeah, I know saying that seems contradictory when I'm surrounded with ghosts, werewolves, and aliens. Still, even if the story could have been true the monster would be, at most, a zombie. At least that is what I thought until we got a call from an icebreaker in the arctic sea. It seemed that they had found a body frozen in a glacier. The body was immediately transferred to our nearest facility were it was defrosted what we found was a complete shock. It was indeed Frankenstein's monster.

While our scientists were literally drooling at the prospect of what we could learn from the body someone, and I'm not going to point fingers, suggested that we hit the body with the defibrillator just to be sure that he was really completely dead. I admit that having the monster sit up and ask for a salad was a bit disturbing even for us. As it turns out his time in the ice had given Junior a new perspective on life and death. After being frozen he found that he couldn't die again instead he existed in a state of limbo until the beginnings of the analog age. The metal implants that had been used to energize his brain also worked as receivers for radio and television waves. His once dead brain was stimulated and filled with information once more.

Though he has no memories of his life before being reanimated he has since given up on seeking revenge on the world for rejecting him instead he feels pity for all of humanity and its unwillingness to accept those who are strange or different. He also regrets his monstrous actions when he was first revived and as committed himself to never taking another life going so far as to only carry weapons with non-lethal ammunition.

During his downtime he sits in his quarters with a low powered analog transmitter uploading or learning new information. Most of that information is on the latest in medical research but he also takes time for an episode or two of "Golden Girls".

Codename: Drac

File Name: Vlad Dracula

Classification: Vampire

Location Discovered: Seattle, Washington

Primary Specialty: Fundraising

Secondary Specialty: Night Operations

With the discovery of Frankenstein's Monster the question of what other supposedly literary monsters might also be real. With that in mind the two teams were dispatched to Romania and Egypt. The Romanian team had the greatest chance of finding something due to the fact that we'd already had encounters with Vampires, all of whom chose to kill themselves rather than be taken into custody. Still they had to have an origin so Transylvania seemed the best place to start our investigation. Within hours of landing the stealth transport in a remote region Brayve had spoken with the locals and they reported that the one we were seeking did indeed still exist but he had long ago moved to America.

We returned to base believing that our mission had ended in failure only to find Drac and The Master waiting for us. It seems that Drac had been part of the organization from the very beginning. In fact, if not for him, there wouldn't even be a Soldiers of Horror. Instead the organization would have fallen under the direct control of another Black Ops department known as A51.

None of us trust Drac due to the fact that he works so closely with The Master. However seeing the two together is enough to rule out the possibility that The Master is a vampire. However the jury is still out as to his possible demonic origins.

Codename: Rags

File Name: Imhotep

Classification: Reanimated Human

Location Discovered: Hamunaptra, Egypt

Primary Specialty: Desert Warfare

Secondary Specialty: Chaplain

How exactly does one go about finding an immortal monster in a lost city in the desert? It starts by doing lost of research, or going to your local alien teammate and asking him to scan Egypt for any paranormal anomalies. So, it didn't take long for the team to arrive at the lost city. As they landed the sand shifted away and out came Rags, as though he had been expecting us. He boarded the shuttle and the team returned to the base here in New Mexico. It was one of the easiest retrievals ever.

Once I'd finished with The Master and Drac, I immediately went in to interview Rags. It seems that, while he hasn't given up on resurrecting his dead girlfriend, he has exhausted all of his resources in Egypt and decided to seek out other avenues. Basically he joined SoH in order to study the other team members to see if they may hold the key to helping him with his quest. When I asked him how he knew about us all he would say is that "the sand told him".

Oh man, Rags is my favorite so far of this series. He looks like he was factory-produced; the design looks somehow inevitable. I dig it! I like the counter-intuitive, understated story, too.

And now I'm wanting to see someone attempt MiniMate customs of Monster High characters.

Well, SoH is completed until I get a new soldier from the NYCC Alpha Flight pack. Unless of course I get around to getting a Bride of Frankenstein. As for Monster High you'll have to look elsewhere since I have absolutely no interest in them.

So moving on to the new A51 characters.

Codename: Sniper

Classification: Robot

The discovery of the robots' scout ship came as quite the surprise, both for us and for the paleontologists studying the site. It was buried, rather close to us in the Badlands, in soil dating to within a few hundred years of the K-T event boundary. When we opened the ship up we found five individuals, all off-line. Naturally everything was transported back to the base for examination. Of the five robots so far we've only been able to activate three of them.

Sniper is the scout group commander and was the first one we activated. We weren't surprised by the fact that we knew more about what has been happening in our surrounding galaxy considering how long he has been off-line. However one thing that is important is the fact that none of our resident aliens have any information about the bots home planet either.

Sniper claims that his primary function was as the group commander and action support cover. Basically he gave the orders and then covered his men from the best vantage point. We've allowed him to continue his role as a sniper due to the fact that he can easily out shoot any other human or alien in A51.

Codename: Hydro

Classification: Robot

Hydro is the second bot we were able to repair. His physical specialty is in exploring liquid and cold environments. He is also adept at using laser weaponry and was the scout group's primary scientific analyst. While his information on the solar system's outer planets and moons during the late Cretaceous is invaluable it really isn't really a big money maker to keep A51 running. To that end most of his assignments have been to study the melting of the Arctic Ice Cap as well as deep-sea exploration.

Haha, you're having too much fun with these.

I should hope so. If it wasn't fun I wouldn't be able to justify buying the fodder needed to keep it up.

Oh and if no one has caught on run a search on the names of the Human A51 agents. Hows that for fun? I alway try and slip little things like that in. ;)

Codename: Thermal

Classification: Robot

Thermal is the last of the robots that we've been able to activate so far. He was built to explore extreme heat and high-pressure locations. While there isn't much call for these abilities in the field he makes up for that fact with his skills in the use of heavy weaponry, especially "The Leveler", his plasma projector cannon. We are also studying his armor and metallic skin elements in the hope that one day we'll be able to sell the technology for such uses as heat shields in spacecraft and nonstick frying pans.

Codename: Agent 13

File Name: Hill, Heaven

Primary Specialty: Biochemist

Secondary Specialty: Medic

Thirteen doesn't interact with the rest of the human population, other than to salute and accept orders. Her files tell us that she is an accomplished medic and herpetologist, the reason she was made an agent, and that her hobbies include injecting herself with low levels of snake venom and outdoor survival. For weapons she carries an injector gun, with several doses of anti-venom from each of the aliens in her unit, and a sonic stunner. Surprisingly since she was given command of the serpent team we haven't had a single problem with them. The group follows orders and hasn't yet botched a single mission. If only more of our agents could be as good, and as quiet, as she is.

Codename: Overbite

Classification: Snake-Man

Calling this group Snake-Men isn't exactly proper as they have more in common with lizards but Lizard or Reptile-Men just doesn't roll of the tongue as well. Not that it matters since none of them have the ability to speak human languages. Instead their preferred form of communication is in scent and thermal signals. They have been able to learn a basic form of sign language to communicate with the rest of the A51 population.

Overbite is the smallest member of the group but he is also the most cunning and performed the function of leader until they were placed under Agent 13's control. Like all the Snakes he relies primarily on his armor for protection and his venom, in his case the closest Earth analog would be rattlesnake venom, for attacks. However he was also the first to start using long-range weapons that we provided. Since starting his training he has become proficient with the rail-gun sniper rifle.

Codename: Thorn

Classification: Snake-Man

Thorn is still resistant to the idea of using long-range weapons though he has upgraded his armor several times to allow him to rapidly get in close to a target in order to go hand to fang. Though he has fangs his poison his more in common with a komodo dragon though the poison can be injected from his fangs or horns. Of all the Snake-Men he's the most likely to break cover or turn on the rest of the group.

Codename: Gaze

Classification: Snake-Man

Gaze is the both the comedian of the group and the most dangerous. He has worked the hardest to fit in with the other aliens of A51. He does most of the speaking for the group since he knows the most signs. He has embraced long-range weapons especially heavy rocket launchers and rocket propelled grenades. Basically the bigger the bang the more Gaze likes it. However his outgoing nature often hides two disturbing facts. The first is that his venom is the most poisonous, being related to the Earth cobra and the second is the fact that he has the ability to hypnotically control most humans that look him in the eyes. We're still not sure how that works considering he isn't able to give direct commands but the best guess is, since he has spent more time around people, he has been able to hone his skills at manipulating pheromones to a greater degree. However it should also be noted that Agent 13 doesn't seem to be affected by his abilities.

Codename: Rex

Classification: Snake-Man

Rex is the largest and most intimidating of all the snake-men however he is the most docile and, despite having fangs, is completely non-poisonous. If given the choice he wouldn't leave the base. Still the intimidation factor alone is enough to send him out into the field even if, so far, we've only been able to convince him to use a sonic stunner as his primary weapon.

Outgoing and nature loving Rose Red is the more adventurous of the two sisters. Even though she is still the perfect loving daughter and wife she is no longer willing to take crap from anyone. If you cross her, or her loved ones you're likely to loose a lot more than a bit of beard.

Love the alternate variatios of Snow White and Cinderella. Rose Red is great. I can't wait for your alternate fairtales to continue, would love to see Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty and maybe Little Mermaid from your alternate universe. The "Glass Slipper Assassin" was a nice touch. Like the "werebear" for Prince Charming, whatever happened to Rose Red in the fairytale?

Also, got to finally say, I loved your take on the Wizard of Oz. Only wish you were able to make the Lion but I thought your backstory for the OtR drug and a world where the characters we all grew-up with were twisted based on the connection to this OtR drugh was great. Sounds like it could be a great adult version of the Oz tale.

Thank you for sharing your love for customizing with all of us.
