Webhead
When I had previously designed decals for my customs I had used Adobe Illustrator CS and photoshop. I need another product to look at some old designs and for some other non minimate related work. I'm hoping to go open source and wondered if anyone has used either of these programs? Lurch77
I use the GIMP and have no complaints on it yet. It does everything I need and probably more (I haven't tested all the filters and scripts yet).
Shamrock
I hate Gimp. Dunno why, maybe I'm just to used to Photoshop. Anyways, I would reccomend trying http://www.pixlr.com/ It's basically Photoshop completely online, and worked pretty well for me when I was without Photoshop
Ivan
Another Gimp fan here. All my image work (apart from 3D) is done with it. If you're used to Photoshop there will be a learning curve, but it's worth the time investment in my opinion.
luke314pi
I used the GIMP a lot in college when I had to use a linux based machine, and like Ivan said, once you get past the learning curve it is an excellent product, and you should be able to design decals with it for sure. Webhead
thanks guys i've installed both GIMP and Inkscape. I did most of my decals in illustrator so I'll give inkscape a try first.
