I've visited many actual Star Wars filming locations - on my last trip to Buttercup Valley, in southeastern California, I was accompanied by journalist Jon Mooallem. He has written an 8 page article about our trip and discusses other Star Wars location hunters, and it appears in the March 2009 issue of Harper's Magazine! http://www.harpers.org/archive/2009/03/0082429 If you don't want to pay the $17 for an online subscription, you can probably find the issue in Barnes & Noble or the like.
