Jad
Nice! In honor of ol' Shats, I'm going to play his 2004 album Has Been. If you haven't heard it, it's.. it doesn't really fit into any specific genre. It's more than spoken word, yet it's not really a collection of songs, per se, there's some post-punk, some poetry, a fair dose of humor, well, I don't know how else to put this: it ROCKS. Seriously. Give it a listen if you can and give it a chance. It's unlike anything else. Also, I actually shook his hand! I was in Riverside, Iowa when he was filming the final scenes of the Invasion Iowa reality show. I sadly didn't get an autograph, but it was still a memorable night. MisterPL
Happy Birthday, Bill. (Only because I know he's reading and I'll catch all sorts of shit from him later if I don't at least mention it.)
Rad
Didn't know it was his Birthday. Many Happy Returns Mr Shat Sir! I second Soylent Bean's recommendation of Has Been. It's a great album as only the great man could produce. Worth it for the title track alone.
The_Donster
Sadly, I'm sitting here with the Shat looking at me in TWOK regalia on my desk calender and still seem to have missed this one I used to do something like this on the old AA forum, but got out of the habit of doing this and concentrating more on members birthday's in various forums Bill's too busy saving the universe and practicing law to bother collecting idols with his image on them
Ivan
Has Been is in my regular listening rotation, it comes up once or twice a week. (Although I still skip the track about his wife's drowning.) I listen to The Transformed Man fairly regularly too. MR TAMBOURINE MAN!! Rad
I've got Spaced Out which is a best-of(?) Shatner and Nimoy's recorded works. It is an amazing piece of kitsch and I love it. God bless the Shat, and the bloke with the pointy ears n'all!
Zombieboyfiend
I recommend the Friar's Roast of ol' Billy boy. Happy belated Birthday Captain.
