Nervous Rex
hey man, I really like the Ant-Man, especially the helmet! what do you have planned next?
newaddict
My intentions are to attempt both a custom set of Excelsior members (to compliment Darkhawk), as well as a set of Runaways and maybe even the Pride. But so far it is slow going in terms of finding just the right components. Most of the time I just happen to stumble across a part in my bits box and say "Hey that looks just like . . ." and then I'm off and running. Also, thanks again for the feedback everyone. newaddict
Updated: A preview of the "work in progress" Molly from my Runaways. Taller than she should be, but you can't get much smaller than the 2" scale. She still needs a little more detail work and some fine tuning. Any ideas of how to make her better would be great. newaddict
Updated again today: Added the first of my attempts at The Exiles. I know other people have already done some of these characters very well, so I thought I'd try to give my attempts a slightly different flavor. Today, I present my "battle ready" Mimic. Seanus
How about this one? Its cool. Ricochet and Darkhawk is badass!!!!
newaddict
Seanus, that was my attempt at Wonderman, but I wasn't as happy with how it turned out (after seeing the pic I took uploaded I realized the paint wasn't quite even and seemed off balance). I am currently debating reworking it, or just scrapping it since an actual Wonderman release is now on the horizon. And the larger pic was one of the ones I took recently with the intention of showing my growing addiction, er collection. And since you've probably seen this one amongst my online collections, I'll share with everybody else: Blight from Batman Beyond Not yet finished, I have to rework some of the details and even out some of the painting. And once again thanks for the feedback everyone.
Seanus
Sorry, i thought that these had already been posted and id missed it. Sorry! Seanus I want a Nico!!!!!
newaddict
Seanus, no harm done and no need to apologize. I'm glad you liked what you saw and appreciate you supportiveness. Wonderman was done very early on, almost a side project before I began working on the Young Avengers, and everything that came afterward. At the time I was very much a novice (not that I'm much better now) and have learned a lot since then. As to Nico, I really do intend to have a complete set of Runaways, but I'm still trying to think how to execute them properly. If it helps, I'm that much closer to figuring out how to handle Nico's hair after working recently on another custom: Sunfire from the Exiles. I'm finishing her paint job today and should have pics up in the next day or two. I learned what I can and cannot do (thus far) with hair and may have found a way to recreate Nico's unique style. antacost
Looking good there, newaddict. Can't wait to see more of your Runaways. That's a set I've been wanting to do for awhile now, but haven't had the time. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
newaddict
Thanks again for the praise. Well, as promised, I've added Sunfire and Morph from the Exiles, as well as a group shot including Mimic.
Serge_Havok
Great job on all of those. I like the Exiles. How about adding a Psylocke to your Exiles Line up now that she has joined!
Deadpool
Blight looks sweet! Why is it I hated Batman Beyond? All the designs rock!
Jatta Pake
newaddict and/or antacost - Got any links on where to find those clear "flying bases"? They look absolutely terrific. Great work, newaddict. You've got some great customs!
newaddict
Thanks again for all the kindness. Here's a link to the "flying bases" at Games Workshop Online: Large Flying Bases Also any hobby/gaming stores which carry Warhammer products should be able to get them in for you. newaddict
Updated again today: My Exiles version of Sasquatch in 2.5" scale. I had to custom sculpt a hair piece (which was my first attempt at doing such) and I will probably end up reworking it again later with additional sculpting details to further bring out the hairy effect all over the body (i.e., wrist and foot accent pieces), but for where my skill level is right now, she's done for now. As always comments and suggestions are very appreciated.
antacost
Sasquatch looks great, addict. Painting all of that white must have been really fun  I'll confess that I know nothing of this book, but maybe put some little white highlights in the eyes on this one... The big black eyes just look kinda hollow... Can't wait to see it with the new sculpted elements.
Webhead
Your Exiles look great. I especially like Sasquatch and Mimic!
newaddict
Thanks again for the feedback. Antacost, I took your advise and added white to the eyes on Sasquatch, and really liked it. Thanks for the tip. Anyway, that got me thinking about how Sasquatch needed to be bulked up, and so I've been working on that for the last week or so. I'm not done yet, and the paint needs to be adjusted, but I'm going to wait until all the adjustments are done. I added a "modified Sasquatch" link to the front page. Again any insights on how to make her better, please let me know.
