It was great. I've said it before & I'll say it again: the Fantastic Four franchise has the potential to outlive X-Men and Spider-Man... A fun "summer action movie"!

Well, they revealed the first statue: Zombie Spider-Man and Mary Jane!

I thought I would dust off this topic to let you guys know (if you didn't already) that this issue has not been fixed by the Minimates' Quality Control department. I had been very hesitant to buy any new Minimates after hearing about all of the Nightcrawler problems, but the exciting news of the Avengers wave convinced me to get back into the fold and catch up before they came out. I bought the Astonishing X-Men 4-pack from TRU & the Beast/Kitty 2-pack from Target. Like a kid on Christmas morning, I was very excited to get some new 'Mates. I opened the 4-pack first and tested each and every joint on each figure. The last one of the pack, Emma Frost, had 2 "frozen" arm connections at the peg. The first jiggled free after a few seconds. The second snapped off immediately. I opened the Target 2-pack next. Beast was fine, but both of Kitty's legs were "frozen" at the peg. Like Emma, the first one jiggled free and the second snapped off. WTF? I give up. I have nearly every Marvel 'Mate ever made up to the AXM/NA waves and have never had anything remotely close to this disappointing ever happen with any of those. Until DST/AA or whoever is responsible gets their act together, I'm done. If you need me, I'll be in the "Other Toys & Collectibles" section...

After hearing about the GR and X3 lines, I had just about given up on Marvel Minimates. This announcement has pulled me right back into the addiction! Everyone is so pumped about Thor, but She-Hulk is the most exciting character selection for me... I do have to agree with Tenime Art- we get Wonder Man before Hawkeye? It boggles the mind how that choice was made!

Namor has been around waaay longer than Hawkeye & Vision. He gets my vote...

Why Minimates? Cuz Kubricks, Stikfas, & Shockinis SUCK!

I'm a carry-over from the old AA boards as well. I am also guilty of stopping by several times a day just to see what's new. Other than GameFaqs (which is about 90% trolls), this is the only message board I frequent and the only one I contribute to. These guys have been very cool to me over the past few years and I am glad they've let me stick around...

I finally picked up a Darktide set tonight and noticed that there were apparently running changes in figures. I found 2 boxes left on a Clearance endcap: one with the original cover and one with the big-chested Juggernaut. I chose the newer one and paid. I opened it before I left the store while I waited on my wife and kid to use the restroom. The DVD was loose in the case and all scratched up, so I immediately exchanged it for the original packaging and opened that one to make sure the DVD was OK. while the figure trays laid side by side, I noticed that the original's Magneto and Wolverine had super-pissed off faces (Wolverine even had bright pink gums showing), while the newer box's had the more mellow faces pictured on both covers. Also, the old version opened from the top, but the new version opened from the side. I know we have some members that collect every variation, so I thought I'd share...

There was some discussion a while back about the different Timber variations (white, gray, & black). I saw one tonight that had a white head, grey body, and black legs. Anybody know anything about that one?

Cool... If I got one, I wouldn't sell it but it's always nice to know something is worth more than you paid for it!

Wow! That Doom is awesome! Since they are limited runs do they retain/increase in value? As cool as they are, I'd hate to buy one and then see it on eBay for a fraction of the purchase price.

I can't believe how big those things are! Dee-zamn! Since we established size, what's the price? ...any Fantastic Four characters? A PF Thing would be sweet! (although I doubt I could afford it!)

Anybody playing Rainbow Six Vegas? I picked it up over the weekend when Best Buy had it on sale for $40 and it's pretty cool. I've only been able to play it for an hour or less at a time- I'm not even in Vegas yet. Mexico is lovely this time of year... If you do have it, how's the online? I haven't tried it yet because I'm still trying to get the hang of it and don't want to be cannon fodder for some little punk... I also saw that the price of Fight Night Round 3 has dropped to $30. That will be my next purchase for my shiny new 360...

I'm assuming that some of the questionable questions were regarding QC. What's really sucky is how much of their product is breaking right out of the package. Are we supposed to ignore that when asking DST? Their lower quality is a BIG topic IMO. So is the problem it that we are calling them out on it, or how we're calling them out on it? I agree with MisterPL- I didn't think anyone was outright rude, but as a consumer we can ask for answers or abandon the line. Which is worse for the future of Minimates?
