  1. Heheh. Transmet is what started me in comics I have all of the Lucifer, Starman and Fables trades so far (aside from 1,001 Nights of Snowfall - the softback version is out early next year), as well as Sandman Mystery Theatre, Y the Last Man and a couple of other things. I really liked the Otherworld trade, but there doesn't seem to be any more yet. I've been reading a lot of DC the last couple of years - getting pretty much every trade from the last 3-5 years (depends on the series). I particularly love Green Arrow, Green Lantern Corps, Green Lantern (despite my dislike for Hal Jordan), JSA, Blue Beetle and Robin. And no, I don't just pick the ones with colours in the title Hellblazer is something that does interest me, but I'm a little wary of picking up the lot - 'coz there's loads! Does any of it cross over(say with Sandman or Books of Magic - obviously Constantine has appeared in those)? Enough for now - back to work before the boss notices. Jo
  2. Glad to see there's some Wildstorm love here, even if we've had nothing from the Wildcats series I've spent the last six years getting and reading everything Wildstorm I can (I have one of "those" personalities), so feel free to ask me anything about their titles. They seem to go through phases with characters - it was Mr. Majestic a couple of years ago (in his own series, Wildcats Nemesis and... something else) and they've gone a bit Midnighter crazy now. Though he does look a lot more rugged outside his costume than the last time we saw him. It's a pity Stormwatch finished, that was great. How do you think Armageddon and the Prime miniseries will work out? Hopefully it will properly restart the momentum of the universe, and give us creators that actually produce there stuff on time (no offence to Ms. Simone, Mr. Gage, Mr. Azzarello or any of the other fine and reliable creators and artists we've had this past year, I just hope we don't get another Morrison - a big name can't sell a book if he doesn't bother to write it) Omendreamer - as a Vertigo fan, what would you recommend? I have the Sandman, plus the Death and Destiny TPBs, and I'm reading through the Books of Magic. Does Hellblazer fit in with those or not? Probably talking early Hellblazer if it does, Speak to you all soon, Jo
  3. Heh, you look like my boss. Here's one of me and the mrs (well, kinda, we're not married yet) from last summer at my cousin's wedding. I've lost half a stone since then and Charlotte only kept the dreads in for a few weeks - they kept overbalancing her. My name is Joseph, I'm 27 and I live with the lady, 2 dogs, 3 cats, 2 parrots and a parakeet. We both work full time in Derby, though my contract is up at the end of the year (gizza job!). Charlotte is much older than me. A full ten days in fact. Jo
  4. 1 - Green Arrow with Spectre's Hood. It would be Deadpool, but... 2 - News and reviews. Plus it beats working 3 - not so much from this board, but from toy and comic boards in general "this new figure/story/film/t-shirt is raping my childhood" 4 - anything that would not look out of place being worn at the Grand National 5 - DST has announced that minimates will be sold in the UK for the same price they're sold in America 6 - Kudos badge to newaddict - he the man 7 - On a Sunday afternoon, I like to sit down at my desk, painting miniatures (the Tau army is nearly half done!) with Eddie Izzard shows playing on the 'puter 8 - ...I'd devise a death machine and test it at random intervals 9 - If you were a squirrel, what sort of tree would you sit in? And would you be a red or a grey squirrel? 10 - 5.2 seconds. Or less, if it's left-handed
  5. I know I'm a day late to see this, but damn you - I now have "Brimful of Asha" stuck in my head. There are some things that should just have stayed very, very dead. In other news, we turned all the lights off at the front of the house and hid from the neighbour's kids. We were thinking of rigging up the hosepipe through the letterbox, but we got stuck in traffic on the way home. Such is life, Jo
  6. If it helps, I had an item that was sent out first class on the 10th, and arrived saturday (27th). The strikes influence will be fealt for a little longer I fear. Wonder if it will last until the inevitable Christmas postal strike... Jo
  7. That's good. I did get quite frustrated with mine, but it eventually worked. And he does look pretty awesome. Jo
  8. The one complaint I have about the first wave is the height of Savage Dragon. He's supposed to be 6'6" ... including the head fin, making him about 5'8" Not a big problem, but there you go. I'm waiting on my second wave case at the mo, at which point I will be selling on a Judge Death and an O'Brienn - not sure which ones yet, but probably the variant version of Death at least. If anyone wants me to save them for them, let me know. Jo
  9. Don't give up! It took me the best part of an hour to get mine to go together - it's a case of lining up the spring-loaded tabs with the holes, which you can't see while you're doing it. It's a pain in the arse, but it can be done. I believe in you! Jo who's far too tired to be typing that enthusiastically
  10. Thanks, you're a star. Jo *edit* Mods please feel free to merge this now if you want
  11. Does anyone know if the guitar from Guitar Hero on the PS2 can be used on the Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero 3? A friend has the first and is looking to get 3 on his 360 instead, but weighing up the cost of possibly needingto buy a new guitar as well. Any links to somewhere that will know are also appreciated. I really don't know where is good to look for this sort of thing. Thanks folks, Jo
  12. I always see Wolverine as Marvel's Batman - a good character, but so over-used and so "bad-ass" that they're just unkillable and boring now. In the comics, anyway. I'd love to see them do away with both characters for a while and let others shine through. Ah well - I'll download the episodes when they become available, or, if the same happens as with Fantastic Four, watch them before all you Americans. Teehee. I liked Evolution, and this looks to have a similer style. Should be fun. Jo
  13. Well, for Deadpool fans, a keychain Rhino would be great. Or just a Deadpool mate. Jo
  14. Got my first wave set a week or two ago, and they're great fun - Pitt is huge! If anyone wants a variant Superpatriot or standard Savage Dragon, let me know. Jo
  15. I'm not sure how the contracts stand. In the Image days, obviously all the characters were creator-owned. Explains why we don't see Marc Slayton as Backlash in costume (though Jet was wearing a new Backlash costume in Worldstorm 2). There were some Authority figures, and some Planetary ones a few years back. Wildstorm was owned by DC at that point. The figures bombed pretty badly though, and at least the Authority wave didn't get finished. They were pretty crappy. DCD has them listed on their website though, so there's a possibility there. Heh, they could use Apollo and the Midnighter as theire Superman/Batman variations in one wave. I'd prefer to see a seperate sub-line of Wildstorm or Vertigo figures. There's loads of potential. Jo who decided to be a bit more upbeat than in his first post in this thread.
  16. Yeah, and a Spartan Convertible for him to drive. I'd love a full Wetworks team - past as well as current. and Deathblow, of course. You could pack him with Cybernary (version 1 - the version2.0 one was a little weird) or Genevieve Cray. Jo
  17. Personally I loved the trailer. Great fun. From the interviews though, I don't think we see War Machine until the second film. Bit of a shame, but then this film isn't "War Machine" Take care, Jo
  18. I too loved Taskmaster from Agent X. Especially in his hoodie. He could come with swappable t-shirts. Jo
  19. Unfortunately, I think they've already said "no". However, by the recent re-classification of our favourite former Image property as just another universe (something I'm still not keen on, as I feel it could dilute focus - but I'll stop rambling), then that might be enough of a loophole. We're getting Red Son 'mates, so the argument could be made. I don't think we'll be lucky though, unfortunately. Sorry. Jo
  20. Ok killer, you're in - everyone else, please feel free to start poaching! And Soylent, yes, we will all be offended. So offended I will start a vendetta aginst you, your family and your neighbour's dog. Either that or just go "ok" Take care, Jo
  21. Same problem here matey. Pick one of us and join up, then the rest can poach you from their friends list Take care, Jo
  22. I'm a Wildstorm guy through and through, so no contest here. I'd love to see a Fuji minimate. Jo
  23. You're both in. Slowly we shall take over the WORLD!!! Or at least a small corner of Facebook Jo
  24. Ok, so the poor puns is being added to the complaints thread Facebook - I resisted joining for a long time, but It's put me back in touch with some people I thought I'd never see again, and got me talking to my sister a bit more (there's no reason for us not to, we just don't get around to ringing each other) Unfortunately, some of you lot joined up as well Jo
  25. Hi folks. I remember a full page ad from the early days of Image, probably in Youngblood or something similar. It's to advertise Supreme and has the man himself standing there with his arms folded, looking slightly down. The ad incorporates the comic logo and the phrase "nothing less" (or similar) Unfortunately, all my old image stuff is currently in storage, so I can't easily get to it to scan the ad. I've been searching online but haven't found it, just covers to the series. Can one of you guys help me out? A scan would be great, or a heads up to a specific issue number where it appears to save me some time searchingthrough boxes and comics. Thanks in advance, Jo
