  1. Still no sign of mine or my brothers, I'd sent one in to the old address and he sent his to the new one. We've got our fingers crossed for a Jon Stewart and a Starbuck.
  2. Does anyone have any experience with trying to make a mold for the powerhouse chest pieces or other over-chest type accessories? I'm attempting to start a Hawkeye custom, but don't want to strip Green Arrow of his quiver part, any advice for molding a piece like that?
  3. I also have a question for those who've recieved their figure: what'd ya get?
  4. Wow! This is great news, especially since I picked up the Beast/Kitty two pack at the Target in Kzoo for $2.50 this weekend. So yeah, if you're in the Kalamazoo area stop at the West Main Target, they've got Riot Attack Spiderman/Spiderwoman and Wolverine/Colossus two packs on clearance.
  5. My brand new Shi Minimate's leg snapped off the first time I tried moving it! The peg snapped clean off, anyone have any repair tips? I'm afraid to just superglue it.
  6. I hope they'd at least release them as an exclusive to some retailer, TRU and AFX I'm lookin' at you.
  7. Last time I was at the TRU in Kalamazoo their Minimates stock was abysmally low. They had the Astonishing X-Men 4-pack (I passed because the box was mangled, didn't know if someone stole one or what), two Speed Racer sets (both Speed, no Racer X), five or six copies of the Darktide DVD set, and my lucky find: a Street Fighter four pack clearance to $2.99 'cuz someone spilled blue paint on it.
  8. Congratulations to the winners, looking forward to the next contest.
  9. So you have a Beatles week of 8 days? Seriously though, when does your week end? And I take it #45-49 (at least) will be removed from the random number generator for the puprose of selecting winners. Thanks.
  10. Please do! I'd love a chance to win one of these little beauties (uglies?).
  11. I really hope these finally hit stores, it's a cruel joke to offer me a shot at owning my favorite Street Fighter (Guile) and Darkstalkers (Talbain) characters in Minimate form and then just taking it away!
  12. Don't forget the redheaded step-children of the DC movies two pack: Halle Berry Catwoman/Shaquille O'Steel
  13. You sir, are a national treasure of whatever country you happen to be from. The Holocaust figure was awesome, loved the creative solution for making his head. I showed a friend of mine some of your work and he flipped over the Quasar, he thought it was an actual figure AA was releasing! Keep up the good work, and might I suggest a Speedball Minimate? Remember the good times....before Civil War ruined him forever.
  14. Hey guys.....what's goin' on in here? Nice to meet y'all, I'm KG and I'm pretty new to the fun world of Minimates. I plan to expand my collection over time (nearest places that carry them are at least an hour away) with any and all 2" scale figures I can find (sorry, LOTR, CTHD, rock stars, Star Trek, and Dark Angel!). If I ever get doubles or stock up on FCBD blanks I'll try my hand at custom 'Mates. So yeah....HELLO FORUM! ARE YOU ADEQUATELY PREPARED TO ROCK?
  15. Why Minimates? A better question would be why NOT Minimates? Long has man pondered this probing query. I recently started collecting them when I purchased the Darktide set from Target and lucked upon a four pack of Street Fighter Minimates at Toys R Us (on clearance for $3 'cuz someone spilled paint on the box, score one point for Minimates: a great deal I didn't expect to find), a grand yet small start to a collection and bringing about a second point in favor of Minimates: the multiple licenses. Just with the eight figures I have I can re-enact my favorite battles from the Marvel Vs. Capcom series. What other collectible offers characters from Marvel, DC, independent comics, manga/anime(Street Fighter is close enough and Speed Racer definitely counts), the sci-fi of Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica, Lord Of The Rings, and other properties we geeks just love to love? Point #3: Minimates are insanely playable. Add 14 points of articulation packed into two inches of figurine to the (newer) C3 feet offeringcross-playability with Lego and you've got hours upon hours of fun to be had. The figures are also an amazing value for the cost, consider the points I've made (along with your own reasons for liking them) and compare it to the price, $5-7 a two pack (depending if you get them at major retailers or pay a premium at specialty shops), that's a heck of a value compared to pricing on other figures! The design of the figures are also top notch, even the simplest paint app ends up looking great. Not to mention the inifinite customizability (is that a real word?), you can frankenstein together a variation of your favorite character or, if you're feeling saucy, full customize an as-yet-unseen character you want (I plan to do so myself if I can stock up on FCBD blanks). To summarize, Minimates are great because: 1. value! 2. selection! 3. fun! 4. more value! 5. customizability! (new word!) 6. I just wrote a mini thesis on how awesome they are, does that not show you the awesomeness? Thank you and goodday, gentlemen and ladies of the forum. /neatly orders index cards and leaves the podium
