I love those display cases Tim! I have a few questions: 1) Where did you get them? 2) Is the front closed? 3) Are there mirrors mounted behind them? 4) will 3" Minimates fit? If they don't close (and dusting is a necessity) I might go with what Kirby houses part of his collection in. I'm pretty sure they're from IKEA. 1) I'd need to look it up, I'll PM you later. 2) Yes they have a clear Acrylic door 3) Yes they have mirrored backs ( which makes taking pictures impossible) 4) Some fit... Trek fit fine, but I wasn't even going to try Sauron or the rock mates.... T.

Well, With the drought of Minimates lately I have started to diversify into the occasional Kubrick set to feed my block figure addiction. Today in the post I got a set of 'sex pistols' Kubricks... and they are totally awesome!!!!!! I know that Kubricks normally look chunky and odd but these are simply stunning... From the cool Leather jackets to the snarly near perfect facial expressions there are pretty much perfect. ok so so I took pix.... If you aren't biased totally towards minimates go seek a set of these out they rock... T.

Well the good news is no one's questioned it yet.... I wouldn't worry Danny, people steal logo's and stuff on the web all the time, and without your site considerably fewer people would be buying minimates. T.

Well, technically the image that Tim created is based on AA's design. And we would only get into legal trouble if we were selling the shirts for profit which we won't be. Plus, I doubt they would sue a handful of fan-boys for some free advertising... Tim can you send me a copy of your Vitruvian Minimate so I can get a price for this design? I think that mine in ambigous enough that it's wouldn't be a problem, It's also why I threw the Artasylum.com on the back. Besides for a small company like AA any advertising is good advertising. That and I was planning on talking to Adam before I actually had any made up! The vitruvian I did isn't perfect and would need some work to scale up like that, I didn't fix it at the time cos it's not noticable on a 1/2" version but that size would show the flaws... so nope not yet T.

I'm curious did you check the costs for that one? ( I know it'll have a minimum order of 12 pieces) Also the front image is copyright AA as it's thier actual artwork! - so is probably a no go without asking AA directly if you could use it. Maybe If everyone wants a non SDCC one then we could make a contest to design it? Are we taknig over this thread, should we be split out and made into a seperate thread? T.

I'm probably getting one 'as is' for the show, To me it's an event T-shirt, hence the event & date, I can look into dateless designs later if you guys prefer without. I actually tried a bunch of stuff and the date actually gives the back a draw to the eye, just the URL looks incredibly bland as no one is really drawn to URLS. As for changing the design and colours of the shirt, such as adding the MMMV globe to the back etc all those things push both the cost and the minimum order up (Not to mention is tricky to get a decent resolution image for blowing up to that scale). The current design is about as cheap as it gets in terms of production costs. The good news is that I can order just one if I wanted to & you'll know what to look for if you see me at the show ! T.

I was thinking something like this... They look to be quiet pricey at around $20 each, I can get any number made but if I get 12 or more the printing will be better quality. thoughts? T.

yep Ady right, 3" arent very mini, the two inch seems to be a much better design for its size that the 3". He's also right that DST Helped get these to people that would actually buy them. and Finally... Rock mates... I can see why they failed, how many people out there actually wany Alice Cooper toys? T.

One quick question for those going... Minimatemultiverse T-Shirts? Obviously I need to get Ady's aproval on design etc.. first but I'm toying with the idea of getting a T-shirt madeup for myself and wondered if anyone else is interested? T.

I think Ady still talks to some of them, my guess would be to try trekunited, wasn't that Tim's (picard) trek place? - didn't jules get to be mod there or something? As for hating them, nah individualy they are decent folks it was the "my trek is better than yours..." and this $30 toy isn't screen acurate like a $300 sideshow piece that lacked endearment If you find them tell em we say hi T.

Can I take it you're not an Artic Armor fan? The sentinel derived seems like a cool suit I'll add it to my 'to do' list I knew what you were talking about with the heads and was refering to the fact that there is so far, only one 'african american' ( wow see I can be P.C.) head in miniate form so far, not giving me a lot of choice in parts. With my head comment I meant that the silver centurion helmet is amlost always too short, so I put a red head piece underneath. T. Oops make that two heads but blade is hardly a good match though

I had a couple of Stikfas a few yrs back (2002ish), I thought they were the coolest thing out at the time... Awesome poseability, nice to have the stickers to make differnt 'characters' but ultimately the 'blankness' of them bored me. That was of course before I found minimates and got into customising! maybe I should re-buy into them and make something to see how I get on. T.

Rad & Santos just picked the two box sets from DC that i'd sell my grandma's ashes for.... The Authority.. who doesn't want to see them kicking Marvels namby pamby superhero ass The Endless.... death and delirium as mini mates... do I need to say anymore? T.
