Agreed on the X-Men Gold, it is really getting good in my opinion and would love to have that Team represented! I agree for me this set is custom fodder but really pretty custom fodder.

If you like digital comics, you can find the issues on Marvel Unlimited and Comixology. Although for comixology I would wait until there is a sale since they price their books ridiculously high.

I am dying for a Vance Astro and have had a head piece and hair picked out for him for years waiting for this. Sadly no one has been able to capture the magic of the New Warriors since that first series.

Agreed. I have mine displayed using a mister negative chest block just to give him something different. Would love to see them redone in their new x-men costumes or with their power switched costumes.

When I was a kid I used to draw and cut out Marvel characters for toys because they didn't have any figures for me to play with. I collected the ToyBiz line but that started at the age taht was probably a little too unacceptable for me to be playing with toys still. The struggle was real. Partially why I love and support this line. If this was out when I was a kid, oh the trees that would have been saved y'all.

Meanwhile... even though I am buying the wave to support, I'm not interested in a single figure but instead am figuring out what parts I can use for other figures. Like Ashley's hair piece will look nice on my Quake custom. Beautiful figures, I just wish that I wanted them more. Well done!

I love my Marvel Unlimited subscription! I hate that it doesn't work on Kindle though since that's what I bought to replace my iPad when it broke. Also Comixology Unlimited is cool.

I don't think all modern comics are bad but I do think that they are overpriced in most instances. In the old days when I bought a crap issue I'd just say meh it was a dollar now if it's a bad issue it's almost 5 bucks and that's a drink at happy hour.

I do not know this as gospel but I have been told and don't necessarily believe it but can see how others do that it is about the Intellectual Property. More characters (even poorly thought out and executed ones) the more IP exists and the more potential for additional revenue (TV, Movies, Merch). TO me, I see the problem being not only the quality of the content being produced but also the price tag associated with it. 4 Bucks for a comic book is a rich man's game. I had a more than generous allowance growing up (AKA I had a job and worked hard for my book money) where I would spend 100 bucks a month and basically owned every DC, Marvel, Image title that got published because the comics were affordable. Now at that budget with the 3.99 price point that's 25 books a month. Not bad but not a way to grow a hobby. Don't get me started on the price points for the digital comics that you actually don't own.

What I did for my Firestar is cut off the mask from Star Sapphire and then painted that. After a few tries I finally landed on the Black Widow hair piece and glued it to that. I also changed the chest and arms/legs from Nova.
