Just stopped by my local Toys R' Us and they were packed to the brim with new Walking Dead Minimates. To bad I'm tapped out after going to Animazement two weeks ago, but with the huge amount they got in maybe some will be left come pay day. On a side note, from looking at the pegs, Glen seems to be pretty well packed in the case, they had pleanty of him, so maybe we'll be lucky with him this round. By the looks of it, at my store atleast, it looks like they've anticipated the fan demand... Like I said I'm broke until the middle of the month, but I'm still willing to help some of my fellow Minimate enthusists out. If any of you want to work something out where you paypal me for the figs and shipping, I'd be more than happy to pick them up for someone. The peg said $7.99 a fig. and it roughly costs $5 to ship two packs...

Saw the new Trek today, and I was so disappointed... The only redeeming factor was the soundtrack, and that was even meh... Makes me glad that this movie isn't getting that much merchandising. In fact, the only thing I've found recently worth my money are the new Hot Wheels ships coming out, which includes a prime universe U.S.S. Excelsior...

I made a custom Uhura from TWOK using a Kirk jacket, Iron Man 2 Black Widow (because her name eludes me from Iron Man 2) skirt, and the legs, hands, and head from a TOS Uhura. I also made a custom TAS Caitian using the DC cat chick that was packaged with Battle Damage Wonder Woman, and a Yeoman Rand dress... I really need to post these picks some time...

I just got done scrapping my eyes across a cheese grater after seeing those horrible Kre-ons... Also hit myself in the head with a hammer the other day at Toys R' Us when I saw the ridiculously stupid Star Trek Fighter Pods. I thought when Hasbro got the license for Trek toys we'd see some real improvements over Playmates, but I guess it's crap merchandising as usual. I've said it before and I'll say it again, DST KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, because you have the only good collectables coming out on the market right now....

Naruto Minimates, anyone?
Macross-Junkie replied to MisterPL's topic in TV, Movie, & Video Game Minimates
The idea of licensed Anime Minimates isn't such a far fetched idea. Many of the Dragonball Z toys and Naruto toys licensed by Bandai were exclusive to the U.S. market. And lets not forget Toynami with their various Macross and Mospeada (Robotech) toys that were geared towards collectors and exclusive to the U.S. Personally I'd jump at the chance to get some InuYasha Minimates. Plus with all the spikey hair and crazy accessories and outfits, the customs would be sensational... -
I was just browsing the pre-order inventory on the Entertainment Earth website, and they had a listing for THIS... That's right people, the Mirror Mirror version of the ship is a EE Exclusive. My only question is to Zach? Considering we still haven't seen the regular version of the Enterprise, which was supposed to be out last month, how accurate are the release dates of May 2013 for this item going to be, (especially since it has a variant bussard collector, different paint scheme, differnet stickers, and different figure) because DST seems to have a problem with release dates for Star Trek, even in a re-tooling...

So Toy Fair 2013 was here and is now gone, and there has been no discussion on the differences between the Enterprise displayed at Toy Fair and the original prototype we all saw almost a year ago... Proto... Toy Fair 2013 Display... One of the most notable differences are the clear Bussard Collectors on the Nacelles. They look way better than the original painted ones on the prototype. Also the panel line detail on the Saucer Section is now gone on the display model. Looking at this, I like it a lot better. And finally, the windows are painted on in the display model, rather than molded like on the proto. Overall I like the final version better... Zach, can you tell us if that's the exact style stand that we'll be getting for display, because if it is, you just made me a whole lot happier. I hate weak flimsy and wobbly display stands like most of the older DST Starship Legends ships had...

There was a press release on Collider back in Feb. It stated that they had acquired the license after Playmates lost it, and that they would be not only producing the Kre-O line, but also Star Trek roleplaying toys, as well as other unannounced products. It's just been speculated by every toy source that 3 3/4" is a no brainer, its just Hasbro's thing. I think we'll probably see more info once Toy Fair and SDCC rolls around. I also apologize for not posting a link, but I'm using my iPad and I can't get this thing to copy and paste to save my life.

I noticed a page back, several of you wished that Playmates Star Trek had been in the 3 3/4" scale so that you could play with your Star Wars as well. Just thought I'd remind everybody that Hasbro now has the Star Trek line and is planning 3 3/4" scale figures. And if history tells us anything about Hasbro, they'll make figures from other movies or comics (ex. the Wolverine and Iron Man lines with the Comic Versions vs. the Movie Versions)... Just something to think about!

Star Trek: The Official Starships Collection
Macross-Junkie replied to UK Collector's topic in Other Toys & Collectables
First off, I'm pissed that these are European exclusives (atleast that's the only info I've been able to find about them) and second, the sculpts look to be the same as the Hot Wheels ships that came out a year or two back, just with better stands. According to Big Bad Toy Store, the Hot Wheels ships are scheduled to make a return this year sometime during early 2013, and will be including some new ships unseen in previous lines. THe up side, we may get the exact same sculpts as these European counterparts, the downside, I don't see Hot Wheels including cool extras and a Magazine full of specs... -
Pretty excited about wave 3 as well. The only one that I'm not really digging is the Dexter figure, I could care less if they came out with any other prisoners other than Axel. On the bright side, were getting a Hershel, and if you buy an extra rick, you can swap out Hershel's head, and do a "Prison Last Stand" version where he loses his life...

Well, looks like we lost a few pages to this thread in the turmoil, but it seems intact for the most part. So while the site was down, did anybody get to see the new Trek minimates over at StarTrek.com? I can't wait for the KIrk / Khan set, but I will probably end up with quite a few Khans, considering I want atleast five of those coats for movie era away team. I know it's note mate related, but did anyone check out the huge Enterprise cut-away ship being released by Dragon Models???? MUST HAVE!!!!

I don't know what it is about my Toys R' Us, but sometimes they don't have crap, then their game is strong. I went into my TRU last night and they were packed to the teeth with Walking Dead Series 2, Expendables Seies 1 & 2, Halo Series 4 & 5, Universal Monsters, Knight Rider, Minimates Max Vehicles, Warthogs out the bookoo, and Munsters Hurse's. I ended up picking up two extra sets of Morgan and Lori, a clearance Warthog, and the Halo ODST Minimate...

I only read the Walking Dead in the Hardback editions, and #8 was the last one until next year, which stopped at issue 98. So please be kind and don't give us any spoilers, someone already ruined the Glenn incident in issue 100 for me already... As for who we see, I'm really looking forward to an Abraham and Rosita, maybe even the priest (I can't remember his name) with a little bible...

I noticed everyone is in an uproar trying to get Amy and Andrea from the LCS wave. Atomik Toys (http://www.atomiktoys.com/) has them in and is selling individual packs as well as sets! I just ordered my Andrea on Friday, and got my shipping notice on Saturday. I would have ordered Amy to, but funds are running very low after Christmas and I had to choose between Anime or Minimates... Anime won for the most part...
