I didn't know where to post this, and I forgot where a topic with this information might be, but I have a question. In one of the few discussion I've had with my girlfriend about wedding and marriage plans, she said she'd like to get minimates made for guests to the wedding as a favor. Ideally, she wants two for each guest, one that looks like me, and one like here. If thats not possible, we'd at least like a blank with some sort of logo or symbol for the day on it, and the baggie would say the date, our names, etc. This is, of course budget permitting. So much question is, does anyone know how much this would, what the minimum order must be, and who could I contact about this? To anyone who can offer me any help, thanks.

I watched a 'Knight's Tale' on satellite for the first time tonight. What a great movie. The new Batman film with Ledger as the Joker has 'cult' already stamped on it however good or bad it turns out to be. I'm not making light of his death,far from it,it's such a shame.

On the DST Web-site it mentions becoming a 'Radical'. Once joined you become a Radical you get the E-Spectrum. If you are in the UK it sometime allows you to see Comic-Con Exclusives which can be bought on-line. It allows you to see them ........but it doesn't allow you to buy them

The current Captain America comic #33 shows Red Skull in a very dapper suit . A simple custom for those capable of doing one (not me) with the Chameleons body(?)

I'd have no problem at all with the red skull in his wwII uniform. The Nazi's were fact, the Holocaust is fact, anyone who tries to deny the evil that was perpetrated is an ignorant bastard or is pursuing a separate agenda. We are talking about a comic-book villain and we need to keep things in context.

I am all for making a red skull figure. But NO WAY would I put him in a Nazi Outfit, no Arm Bands...nothing even close.

While I am ambivalent on having a villian action figure feature a swastika, I personally would probably not buy it, as I would not be comfortable displaying it proudly as part of my collection. But Red Skull is not Captain Nazi-the ultimate symbol of bigotry is not necessary to recognize the character. After all, the most identifiable part of him is, not surprisingly, his head being a red skull.

Unfortunately... 'the most indentifiable part of him is....a red skull. A skull is a death's- head & red is the pre-dominant colour (with black) in any Nazi paraphernalia. During WW2 Hitler's elite personal bodyguard , the Schutzstaffel(SS) ,wore the death's-head insignia. The elite within this elite were the Totenkopfverbande( Death's Head Unit) who had sole reponsibility for running the concentration camps .

The Red Skull character of course personifies this ,that's why he was created in fiction so that normal people(most of us here ) would loathe him. We don't like him,he's evil,so along comes Cap (he's the good guy)& beats the shit out of him.

I agree. Red Skull is just a character, like Galactus. I personally do not advocate the consumption of humans (or other sentient species) as Galactus does. I do, however, applaud the willingness to make a figure (even if it is in MaxiMate form) of a character with such a controversial moral stance.

Seriously, though, ToyBiz was able to make a good Red Skull (Web Trap series?) without causing a stink. A Red Skull/WW2 Cap 2-pack would be much welcome.

This crossed my mind when I first came aboard here. I worked it out for myself. The swastika & Nazis are synonomous with a very dark period in world history & it is perhaps correct that a figure who personifies Nazism should not become a Minimate. My personal opinion is that this is the CORRECT decision for a company such as DST to corporately make . It would however not be the decision I would make & I would love to see a Red Skull 'mate. Ironically we can't have a Red Skull but it's fine & dandy for us all to salivate over the upcoming 'Silence of the Lambs' set which glorifies rapists & serial murderers!

.....& before anyone thinks that I sympathise with anything Nazi,you're wrong. The Red Skull is merely a character in a comic book series that I have been reading for over 40 odd years.
