  1. The Fwoosh guys are okay. Every now and then you get a guy who's there just to comment on how awful a product is, but mostly they seem all right. The Marvel Select guys are VERY particular, more particular than you guys. Haven't gotten the feel for the Minimates board yet. And yes, I'm MSWord. "MS" could stand for Marvel Select or Marketing Supervisor, but I probably should have just gone with DSTZach. I was supposed to be that on here, but I got my fields mixed up. And I have pillowcases with Gideon on them, so I wouldn't use that as an indicator of A-List.
  2. I think that could be the best-selling ten-pack we've ever made! I know the Daughters of the American Revolution would be all over it.
  3. Yeah, I need to figure out a system for revealing design sheets. I may need to go over each and every one to make sure there aren't spoilers on upcoming product in the re-used parts list or disappointments in the costed-out parts breakdown. Parts change all the time. I did not realize! RICHARDS!
  4. from my over obsessive google searching yes it does. Only diff there will be variant covers for #1 Same cover, yes. There will be one incentive cover, which will be sent to retailers with any ten issue purchase, and that's the Ulises Farinas wraparound battle scene. So that one will be more rare. THere will also be an SDCC-exclusive cover by Ulises. Not sure how many they're making.
  5. The "need for parts" argument for Thing makes as little sense to me as the "need for shuriken" argument. Who would you be building with said parts, besides Rocky Thing? Krakoa? A crazy Iceman? ...Never mind, I guess that would be cool. That's because you're not a customizer. Figuring out what you can do with new parts is half the fun of Minimate reveals for us; I can't tell you how excited I was when MAX first debuted and I realized I could use the gasmask to finish my Sandman Mystery Theater Wes Dodds. I almost voted for Ghost Rider so that I could have a new flame head for my Firestorm (and didn't because it's a blue flame head). I don't know what he's planning to make with the Thing, but I can understand the logic behind the vote. I don't customize as much nowadays, and I never did much Minimate customization, but I made a ton of Mego customs in the Twisted ToyFare days, and several of my childhood G.I. Joes are still painted to look like members of WildC.A.T.s. So I certainly get why someone might need a gas mask or a flame hair piece. I just didn't see how Rocky Thing parts -- granted, I haven't seen the parts yet -- could be used for anyone else. But then I corrected myself. Krakoa, Iceman, an Inhumanoid, a Crystar villain, yadda yadda yadda... Could be cool. I just love that version of Thing, so whatever gets it more votes.
  6. Pretty sure there were people on this thread who spoke at length about how uncool that was, but whatever your conscience tells you. See, if you'd organized a little, you could use this power for good. The "need for parts" argument for Thing makes as little sense to me as the "need for shuriken" argument. Who would you be building with said parts, besides Rocky Thing? Krakoa? A crazy Iceman? ...Never mind, I guess that would be cool.
  7. Sorry about that whole "turning brother against brother" thing, guys. Our bad.
  8. You answered your own question. LOGAN = WOLVERINE. It's a subtle distinction. Although your rocky Thing = shuriken idea baffles me. I think we'll look at who else performed well, for sure.
  9. I second this statement. There were several pre-existing minimate clawed hands that could have been used. Any chance you could shed some light Zach as to why that choice was made by DST? No idea.
  10. And while there will be two A-listers and one army-builder, which of the other categories gets two depends on which make the most sense as two-packs and which inspires the best variant. So you may get two villains. or a villain and a variant.
  11. Actually, monkeycrumb, we could fill every slot with the four polls, but rather than make a fan-hoice figure the rare variant, we're gonna come up with a fun varIant.
  12. You're welcome? This particular poll MAY be skewed towards late '80s-early '90s comic readers, so apologies to our more senior and junior members. Luke Cage is not an A-lister. He doesn't even have a costume. Thing has been in three movies, two of them released, and a dozen cartoons. Sorry, McG. Werewolf Captain America is arguably the most famous example of a Marvel event that goes WAY over the top. But that's part of what makes it so great. Also, it's a werewolf Captain America. Remember when DC did the same thing, but with gorillas? Good times. Poll #2 is next week.
  13. Hey, I would LOVE to get any of these guys. No sausage here. It was actually tough to narrow it down, but when given an option, I went with a Cap that was very different from other Caps, and would otherwise never get made. And we've been over Steve Rogers. Commander Rogers is not Captain America. Let's move on. Spider-Man was actually a cyborg once, yes.
  14. THe list randomizes, so 3 and 7 are totally different now. I like Iron Man, although I later realized I was splitting the Iron Man vote. Maybe I should have left one out, but I'm curious to see if his popularity will help him overcome the odds.
  15. Round 1 is up: http://marvel.com/news/story/18697/marvel_minimates_10th_anniversary_fan_polls
  16. These are Minimates. So a lot of the armor is going to be compatible with the humans, and there will be a few humans.
  17. It's a dirt cellar, and there's a stack of old clay pipes down there. I shot some Real Ghostbusters shots down there once. But no, it's not. We almost got the coat in at the last minute, but there just wasn't enough time.
  18. Flash Venom is an interesting concept -- I like seeing someone find a new take on a character, even if it turns out to be a mistake, like angelic Punisher or FrankenPunisher or psychotic Moon Knight. And the execution of the book is actually pretty darn good. I enjoyed the issues I read last week. The character design is pretty boss, as well. But then, I think Anti-Venom has a cool look and a cool power, too.
  19. I agree, a Spidey TTA set is overdue. And I like the line-up ideas. I almost had 2099 in tomorrow's poll, but went with a costume we'd never made.
  20. Meant to post packaging shots today, and shoot sewer shots in my basement. Will try to do it tomorrow.
  21. You should be able to squeeze them into Hulk's hands at their thinnest points.
  22. Hey, I'm not telling you anything -- just that a one-off costume from 40+ years ago, one that never even appeared on a cover, is a tough sell, even if it is Spider-Man in a Fantastic Four uniform (not that you could tell). I can't imagine how we'd package him, and we'll probably never make him. Sorry, the gloves (and bag) are off; I'd personally rather see Forbush Man. And Betsy Braddock was caucasian for a long time -- 14 years or so. Considering how excited everyone is about the Outback X-Men series, one of those white Psylockes is probably highly appreciated right now.
  23. Why? As cool as an Amazing Bagman figure would be, there are still a ton of other people that still need to be made first, IMO. I wasn't going to say anything, but... yeah. There are a dozen Spider-Men or Spider-Man facsimiles, plus another dozen temporary or technical FF members, that appeared in more issues than this outfit, and I think we would literally be making this Minimate for three people. Yes, I could have put him into the Support Team poll to see how he fared, but I think the eight people in that poll are more legitimately deserving, and I think the majority of this board will agree.
  24. So you're saying they didn't send you birthday wishes at Fwoosh? My birthday wasn't compatible with the birthday of a Hasbro employee.
