  1. We made it extra-big, just for you! No, I'm sure we asked them to make the change, and maybe they'll even have time to make that change. But we'll see. Luckily, I can think of twelve different substances you can fill a hole with. [Cue quoting with appropriate emoticons.] Bazooka.
  2. Raimi actually jettisoned the impact of Ben's death in the third movie, by changing his killer from the robber Peter didn't stop to the getaway driver outside. Peter never could have prevented Ben's death, even if he'd taken action. "With great power comes great responsibility" became "You can't catch 'em all." It's my main quibble with the film, especially since they only seemed to do it to give Peter an emotional investment in the bad guy, which I imagine they did to give him a reason to get all rage-tastic. Seems like they could have had him turn to the dark side purely from the personal stuff. Anxious to see the new film, not sure when I will. And although I do think Peter's personal life should usually be angsty and troubled, the fight scenes should he Jackie-Chan style laugh-fests, with brilliant dialogue, which I'm not sure I've ever seen in a Raimi Spidey.
  3. It's like Mr. PL says, Marvel sends us Pantone color numbers (from the indexed color system, FYI) whenever they want us to change something. They don't say, "Huh, why'd you give him yellow eyes? That's weird. Oh, well." They tell us to change some pretty small stuff, and I specifically remember them giving us eye colors. I am curious about the difference between the MM eye color (bronze) and the Marvel Select eye color (yellow), but that may have been a case-by-case thing. I like both.
  4. Was CS unable to help? Because I doubt BAM will have it.
  5. He comes with a spare. A lot of them will, we just don't usually make clear prototypes, so it's hard to tell.
  6. We were given specific color notes on the eyes. Yellow, gold... I think it looks cool regardless.
  7. I wanna see these guys working out in a gym full of lollipops.
  8. Oh. Then no, that does not count. Are you not in Canada, pawcanada? Or am I pronouncing that wrong? Not sure they can mail to UK, since we don't sell there, but you can ask.
  9. Yeah, there was no delay, but no rush, either.
  10. I hate it when they do that. No, we'll probably just reveal who won each category with what percentage, and who the variant figure is, if we can figure that part out in the next two weeks. Need to make a Sophie's choice of which runner-up to hold off on in favor of a cool, rare variant. Art won't be done, but maybe we'll have something to show... line-up will be pretty cool, regardless.
  11. I don't say a lot of things. You mean that you are designing them and they are not ready to be shown? Backstage stuff, right? Gotcha I'm going to bring my turtle ban back from the dead (or the storage) I keep my bans in the garage. Every now and then I go out there and forbid the Rock Lords from entering the house. Nobody wants to launch a line with a crummy box set.
  12. We designed other Worthy, not sure who else we designed from the Mighty. We may see others. Fun fact: Iron Man was stuck to my ceiling in his shot, next to a lighting fixture. Thought it looked like a smelting pot. (In the series, he oversees the forging of the weapons by the dwarves himself.)
  13. I don't think anyone told BC that figure was exclusive to the event, and I'm not actually sure they entirely said it, either.
  14. Give it a couple of days, and maybe ask again. How is that not a missing part?
  15. I say a lot of things. I don't say a lot of things. Icon Heroes got the license, AFX is just distributing for them. But AFX is definitely pretty great. Pat is a great dude. I hope the set does well for both companies. It looks like a slam dunk.
  16. To be fair, the Battle Beasts are giants. In the comic book, they mostly tower over the humans, smaller animals aside. I mean, a bear picks up a police car on Luke's cover. The Thundercats were the same height as most humanoids on Third Earth, so I assume most superheroes could stand eye to eye with Panthro or Lion-O, more or less. In the Superman/Thundercats crossover, I think Supes and Lion-O were the same size. So I would not expect any of the 'Cats to be taller than Kingpin, who I always perceived as being tall as well as wide. Interesting, interesting... so this is the same kind of deal as when DCD contracted with you guys to design and produce the DC mates? I believe so. We're doing the designs and the prototyping.
  17. I'm not sure if that leak was approved, but I believe another figure was going to be revealed today. The figures are being released by Icon Heroes, who hold the license, not DST. AFX is distributing this set, and I assume Icon will reveal their full plans for the line when they're ready. I got some production samples, though, and will take some shots when I have a moment. Busy busy busy.
  18. I bet if we gave you guys chocolate Minimates, you'd immediately ask for chocolate Minimates with crispies in them. Ah, the vocal minority at it again....( Sorry Dino) Not everyone Zach , there are many of us quiet folk who appreciate and realize how many chocolate crispies that you already put in our minimates Hey. I wasn't asking if we were getting them. Zach said that they liked the designs. I was just wondering how much, and what exactly the license covers. This wasn't a complaint, but rather a query for information. Dude, I was just teasin'. I know it wasn't a complaint, I just love how every new character or property mentioned gets Multiversers (not just you) thinking about what might be next, be it DC or Silverhawks or MOTU, none of which I'm going to bother addressing, because each of them is highly unlikely for different reasons. Your suggestion would have been more likely, although I imagine the series getting cancelled bodes ill for that. But I don't know anything -- this is AFX's baby, I'm just happy to be on the Thundertrain. And I agree, this may be the most Minimate-appropriate license ever. Something about the colors and simplicity of 1980s cartoons lends itself well, and having the characters be mostly standard human shapes helps. MOTU, G.I. Joe, Bionic Six... all would make great 'Mates. But Thundercats has just enough physical variety and distinctive coloring to maximize the Minimate design's strengths. But I digress. Enjoy tomorrow...
  19. I bet if we gave you guys chocolate Minimates, you'd immediately ask for chocolate Minimates with crispies in them.
  20. Really? That sucks. I vaguely remember commissioning an Alan Rickman custom for that, but I may be remembering the unproduced prototype.
  21. The new cartoon is definitely good. I actually know one of the writers, but I also legitimately liked it. Not sure I like the new designs more than the classic ones, but they were certainly more practical, and less Zardoz-influenced.
  22. The comic is just black-and-white drawings of a full-color world, so these are actually more accurate. (Thanks, Calvin and Hobbes!) We've discussed b&w versions, not sure if it'll happen.
  23. Last date I saw said July 11. http://www.artasylum.com/blog/category/ship-dates/
  24. That probably wasn't the first time we ran it, either. Mini-Myte, did we see your custom and ask for pictures for a feature or something? I can't remember.
  25. The bolt cutters fit into Glenn's backpack. Kinda neat. Has everyone seen the first TRU assortment? Not sure I ever posted it.
