  1. A lot of people seem to want the same kinds of things I'd like to see. Doctor Who would be fantastic, and potentially long-lived, what with all the Doctors, companions, and monsters. My girlfriend has said several times that she'd be all over video game character Minimates, especially Nintendo stuff, and both of us would really enjoy seeing some Oddworld characters as Minimates (some would be impossible, but an Abe would be darn cute).
  2. The last few designs we've seen illustrate to me why Minimate faces traditionally don't have noses. Everybody's faces look squashed to the side, like they ran into something and got flattened. I'm not sure how it'll look in person, but in these pictures, it's kind of creepy.
  3. I believe the only variants in the 4-packs are Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma. None of the player 2 versions are included.
  4. It's always interesting how things sort of pop up in different locations. As I said above, I've found the Steet Fighter sets in the Northwest, and today I saw the Wolverine/Iceman 2-pack at Target, but I still haven't seen Speed Racer around here. Of course, some of it may have to do with different stores more than different states. The Toys R Us closest to my house doesn't have the Street Fighter sets, and tends to get smaller quantities of various products (or doesn't get them at all, like the new Mortal Kombat action figures), while other TRUs in the area have full pegs of such things. I'm sure things will arrive in most areas, and I'm sure people on here can help each other out if that turns out not to be the case.
  5. I found them at the Bellevue TRU a few days ago. A full peg with plenty of each set in the action figure section near the Marvel stuff. No Speed Racer though, but I wasn't planning on getting them anyway.
  6. For me, I don't see a lack of new product as cause for me to quit collecting them so much as a case of there not being anything for me to buy. I quit collecting things when I don't like what's being put out or if a line loses what made it good in the first place, but a lack of Minimates is more like a forced hiatus on my collecting. Of course, I'm relatively new to Minimates and am still happily filling in gaps, so I'm not as bored as the folks that are all caught up and wondering where those new Marvel waves are. So basically, I'll be happy to buy Minimates when there's something to buy (as long as they're as good as I've come to expect from the line) but if AA's not putting out anything for me to spend money on, that's their loss.
  7. Hey, this is just a little thing, so I won't feel bad if nobody else cares, but I find myself mildly confused by the buttons mentioned in the subject line. There is a white line below each post separating it from its buttons, and this separation makes it look like the "Quote" button for each post is above it, rather than below it. I just made a reply quoting somebody else's post and realized as I previewed it that I had quoted the wrong post entirely because of this. Obviously others are managing fine as things are, but I just thought I'd bring it to your attention that the white lines were confusing me a bit. Maybe I should just post more, then I'd get used to it. Thanks!
  8. I'm mainly trying to complete the Fellowship, so I'm after Merry/Boromir and the set with Frodo. I'm also interested in the set with Aragorn and Twilight Frodo, as that Aragorn has his cloak like the others (I'd switch the head for the other one, though, so he isn't screaming). Back to the topic, does the fact that some sets are still hanging around indicate a relative lack of success for the line? I mean, I guess it didn't do so great since wave 3 didn't happen, so maybe what I'm really asking is why that is. I see people citing the rather late timing of their release, which I can agree with. I think the Saruman set still sits because it's pretty boring compared to the others, plus Saruman's kind of bafflingly designed with those sleeves that require his arms to be at his sides in order to not look silly. I think price may have also been an issue, as Suncoast for one was asking quite a bit for two little figures. I think I'm rambling now. Just going for some discussion in a quiet section, I suppose. I know LOTR Mates are old news, but since I started grabbing them relatively recently, they're sort of new to me. And hey, it's not like there's much going on with the Marvel and DC Mates at the moment (well, I'm still picking up Marvel stuff from Target here and there, but anyway...).
  9. At many Suncoast stores I still see Saruman/Wormtongue sets hanging around at clearance prices, which doesn't help my efforts to get what I'm missing, but I've also managed to find other sets at Suncoast. Just last week I found an Aragorn/Orc set and got it for three dollars and change. I've also recently gotten a couple sets for good prices at a collectible shop, but I suppose that isn't as impressive a find. So are any of you still finding LOTR minimates on the pegs?
  10. I'm on there but haven't seen one arrive. It may very well show up today, but as of now, I'm without. Thanks for all you're doing, guys!
  11. I generally prefer Marvel's characters, but yeah, the Marvel Minimates are getting pretty lackluster. I'm much more interested in the DC stuff at this point.
  12. I was waiting to add my begging until there was a thread like this, so please belatedly add me to the list. Thanks!
  13. I'm all about the Batman stuff for the most part, but specifically looking forward to Harley and classic Robin.
  14. I started buying Minimates when they went on clearance at Toys R Us, so I got some 4-packs there. Since then I've bought most of them at Target, with a good deal on eBay getting me some of the ones I'd missed and wanted.
