  1. Continuing with my Swimsuit Avengers customs next up are Captain America: Public Indecency and Hawkeye: Exposed. Swimsuit Avengers 2 by Prowl-Ar, on Flickr
  2. Updated list of possibilities: Jason/Friday the 13th Freddy Kruger/Nightmare on Elm Street Halloween Predator Nightmare Before Christmas Cereal Brand Characters Haunted Mansion Resident Evil Silent Hill Game of Thrones Disney and Marvel's Big Hero 6. Army of Darkness Hercules & Xena Harry Potter Buck Rogers Mystery Science Theater 3000 Disney Villains Golden Girls Casper Metal Gear Elder Scrolls Fallout 30 Rock Parks and Rec. Sherlock Buffy the Vampire Slayer Mortal Kombat War of the Worlds What we know is that one of these is the correct guess. Other companies are, and have been for a number of years, been making products for the license. The license doesn't necessarily compliment any other current line. It line is expected to have mass appeal. The properties that have been flat out rejected include: Planet of the Apes Hellboy Max Zombies DC Dr. Who Grimm's Fairy Tales (new license) Mass Effect (Separate new license)
  3. I don't know as I'll be able to put together twelve for a full calendar but that almost sounds like a challenge I'll try taking on. It was just something that probably shouldn't have ever been contemplated which is why I had to do it. I'm curently working on adding Spider-Man to the group but first I need to get a set of web shooters and more bare legs. If I continue after Coney Island Spider-Man I'll likely move on to Public Indecency Captain America. As for the part choices I only hat the two bare chests in my customs box and the hairy chest just seemed to work best for Stark. As for Thor, well, when one plays with lightning . . .
  4. Just for the hell of it here are a couple of Swimsuit Avengers customs. Tony Stark in Iron Man Heat Armor and Thor: God of the Beach. Swimsuit Avengers by Prowl-Ar, on Flickr
  5. Weapon X Wolverine can be the anchor character with Ka-Zar replacing swimsuit Thor. After all, if a swimsuit edition box set should be devoted to the the Marvel Swimsuit art. My top wants would be: Thor, Black Panther, Colossus, and Dr. Strange.
  6. While I've never read any of the GFT, my only experience is from Previews, I'm actually excited about the possibility of this license. Just based on cover art I'd love to get Masumi Robyn Hood Liesel Van Helsing (probably the closest we'll get to the Steam Punk Lexi Femme Fatale) Thorne (The Lion of Oz) Tin Man The Cheshire Cat Werewolf (Battle Beast sculpted perhaps) As for many of the other female characters, who wouldn't want to put together a full spectrum of Hellfire Club Queens? Oh, and I'm all for a line scantily clad male characters. Bring on the Marvel Swimsuit Edition Box Sets! Unfortunately, without a lot of work, that combination isn't going to work since Grodd uses the 3" body.
  7. Did I hear "Holy Grail"? That's it! The new license must be Monty Python mates.
  8. That makes two of us then, since I currently have no WIPs. Basically I'm letting inspiration take its course here. Unfortunately until I've been able to afford to clear more of the Shanna/Reaper, The Wolverine, Iron Man/Mandarin, and Walking Dead Wave 2 from the shelves it's looking like new parts are going to be a challenge.
  9. Thanks for the compliment but the short answer is no. The only time I even consider selling any of my customs is after I can no longer easily find parts to continue creating new characters. I don't have a problem with others copying my creations and there have been a few very rare occasions when I have created a copy of a character for someone else. However in those cases they have been local to my area and they furnished the parts that needed modification and then assembled and further modified the character to fit their own needs. So, about the only way to get any of my customs would be for minimates to no longer be produced and the market for used parts to become prohibitively expensive for me to continue customizing. Or to track down the parts yourself and build your own version of the character.
  10. The toy release likely had to do with the fact that around that same time both Alien and Aliens were sanitized and shown on TV. That is how I first watched them.
  11. Has Ronan appeared in any of the trailers or any images been published with the hammer in them? I'm just thinking this may just be a case where the movie universe version differs from the comic universe. If it really is an error and it is to late to fix it I'm not going to get upset over it since the comic Ronan will have a correct hammer when he is released with Iron Man, Space Cap, and Thanos in the TRU Infinity Box or a follow up TRU wave.
  12. They haven't been released yet. When announced I figured they would be out prior to Star Wars but it seems that the two series will likely overlap. So far they've shown seven out of twelve planned characters.
  13. Raises paw, yeah I'm a Hot Wheels collector. While no where near obsessive as some, I can live without treasure hunts, if I have money left in my budget after minimates I try to keep up with the Mainline cars. I've also been lucky in being able to get all the DC and Power Rangers character cars, but I skipped the Sponge Bob and Muppet sets. I'm also looking forward to the Star Wars sets as well as the Marvel characters.
  14. Thanks, buttheadsmate. Unfortunately all that work will be out of date in the next couple of weeks since I've got four more customs that I'm working on. Of course that's just using parts I have on hand Once ASM2 and Cap2 start showing up locally there is no telling how many customs I'll have on the burners. Speaking of which I still need to go and singe one of Puppet Master's puppets for that Zombie Survivors Monte custom to put it more in line with the actual individual he is based on.
  15. That's it all 468 customs organized into 69 groups all posted on the first page. It was more work that I though it would be, though I suppose that just makes the feeling of accomplishment that much sweeter.
  16. I'm trademarking 0. With that done, karamozov80 and I now own all computing devices; please shut them down until you've paid up. I only accept cash and minimates as payment. LOL
  17. Just as an update, I've now posted 24 of 69 organizing groupings on page one and I have completed the task of taking pictures of the customs that I've updated.
  18. I hate blind bags, I really do, but considering it will be TMNT and the only reason I plan on getting the line is for custom parts blind bagging actually works in my favor. This way I can easily pick up a pack, or four, and be satisfied. This also answers the question that has been rattling around the back of my mind how a line of nine or ten, not sure if there is one Foot soldier with lots of accessories or a standard trooper and a heavy trooper, into a single wave. Now the only question is which color, translucent blue and clear, will be the standard and the chase figures.
  19. I received mine today and I have to say I was actually conflicted as to whether or not to release it from its bag. This is a first since I always release my toys from their plastic prisons. It didn't take long for that to end and he is now hovering (with a Spider-Man stand) on my computer. Thank you, Shanester, for the Multiverse and the contests that allowed this minimate the freedom to fly.
  20. I can, and have, started creating combined shots of groups but I don't have the patience to do actual "group shots" due to the fact that as soon as I get several figures set up one falls over taking two or three others with him. I admire those that can to that and make the mates look really good but I'm just not one of them. Currently I'm working on my Marvel customs but it may take some time since I have to re-shoot a couple of figures due to upgrades I've made to the original custom. I'm hoping to have those groups done by the end of the week.
  21. Come on it's Halloween so the only thing that fits would be Classic War of the Worlds. Or Hellboy, Hercules & Xena, Harry Potter, Buck Rogers, MST 3000, Disney Villains, Golden Girls?
  22. While a troop builder BB is ideal for collectors and troop builders it isn't very realistic. A BB layout for say Avengers would likely look something like: 4 Captain America 4 Iron Man 4 Thor 4 Hulk 2 Hawkeye 2 Ultron 1 Black Widow 1 Quicksilver 1 Scarlet Witch 1 Ant Man Maybe drop Ant Man and add another Black Widow. Lets face facts here a BB isn't really for us it is more of an impulse buy type item. If a kid begs for one and gets a Troop builder, oh well, but if they don't end up getting a big name hero the second time around the store just lost out on selling any more BBs to that parent and any others she complains to about her kid being so upset about getting a generic no name toy instead of the hero he or she wanted so badly.
  23. I picked up a few more parts and put together another Nova Centurion. This time I went with something a little different and decided that rather than using one of the standard alien races I'd use one that has been around for a while but has never had a member of the Novas. Stal Tyrson found life as a loyal guardsman to be just a bit too hazardous. Of course quiting wasn't exactly an option so he set about getting himself "removed" from duty. Not an easy thing to do considering the harsh penalties levied against most crimes. Worse yet, as the son of the hero Tyr many things were overlooked as nothing more than youthful indiscretion. Eventually, he was forced to turn in his shield and spear and banished from Asgard with only his sword, a "gift" from his father's collection, and his favorite coat of distraction borrowed from Loki's wardrobe he set out to find a better life among the stars. The last thing on his mind was getting mixed up with the Xandarians and becoming another nameless centurion, but life rarely goes the way you want it to. Still, it is unlikely that Stal hasn't already formulated a way keep the Nova powers and get back to his wandering ways. Nova Centurian Asgardian 03 by Prowl-Ar, on Flickr The other custom is one that I've had sitting around waiting for the right cape to come along. I ended up getting tired of waiting so I cut up a bit of cloth and I'm calling it good, at least until an official Dusk comes along. Spider-Man Slingers Dusk by Prowl-Ar, on Flickr
  24. Hmm, I guess Morbius falls into a gray area between hero and villain. It's a good thing I like his new look since I already have customs of the other three and I think I prefer my pantless Kingpin Zombie. Still, I'll likely pick up a couple of sets.
