  1. I'm all for an updated Elektra. And White Tiger? Niiiiiice...
  2. Tell me about it, it was the perfect set...
  3. Mine got answered! Sadly it was a negative. I so wanted a Rocky 3 minimate...he looked so freaking sweet...
  4. I come up with a good one from time to time... No worries man. I wasn't trying to falsely accuse you of anything, just asking others if the figure looked legit or not as I have read in a few places about people selling bogus Spidey Symbiote minimates. The mini looked legit to me so I chalked the missing hands up to just that, a hand getting lost along the way and replaced with some blank black ones. I didn't know there were some out there that were factory defects sans the white patch. I figured if anyone would know, it would be the folks here and I was right. My apologies about your seller name coming up, I never intended to point any fingers or indicate you by name specifically but some of our fellow members are pretty good at scouring eBay. I appreciate you offering to refund it, but I'm going to hang onto him. As I said earlier, I got him at a great price and even without the hand patches he's in great shape. Thanks again man, sorry for your name getting brought up.
  5. Yeah, that's the problem, the collector in me is coming out and he wants the legit Spidey Variant. I can't help it, the guy wants what he wants! That said, I'm pretty certain the head is legit and it was pretty cheap...Choices... I know, I thought about trying to use my Venom mini's hands but couldn't bear Spidey with claws. In the auction I couldn't see his hands well enough (well played seller) to know they were wrong and since the other auction was for a legit figure I just assumed the other was the same and the guy was just offloading his collection. I know, I ASSumed... That's what I'm debating. I want to return it on the principle of the thing because it isn't what it was advertised to be, but on the other, it was dirt cheap and everything else seems to be legit on him. I think I will end up returning him because now, thanks to Robbie the collector, I'm going to end up buying a SECOND one just to get the right hands. Why have two when I can put the money from this one towards buying a complete one. Man, it isn't easy being this nerdcore.
  6. Hey folks, Hoping some of you can help me with another question. The same eBay seller I got the Spider-Man Back in Black mini from sold me a Wave 2 Symbiote Spidey variant at a steal of a price. I got the mini in and he has the wrong hands. He came in with solid black hands (the stem of the hands are yellow) as opposed to the hands with the white patches and the black dot in the center. That got me to thinking I might have been scammed, but I couldn't tell from looking at him that anything was amiss other than his hands. I contacted the seller and he told me he would give me a full refund but claimed it was a legit figure that he bought from someone he knew in China that had an insider at the manufacturing company. That's a great claim as there is no way to prove it, but I don't want to accuse the guy of anything, especially since I purchased another item from him that was legit. Anyways, I was wondering if you guys could tell anything by looking at some photos of Spidey. I figure it's just a case of the guy losing the hands and hoping it would slide and no one would notice but thought I would ask. I know there have been cases of folks getting scammed in the past and I'm debating getting my refund or holding onto him and hoping I can land a pair of hands somewhere. Thoughts? Legit Spidey?
  7. Thanks guys, I knew you folks would have the answers! I briefly considered the explosives option but decided to go the freezer route instead (I was afraid I would mess up the helmet if it was pliable after boiling). After a few minutes I took Pete's frozen head out and off came the mask! Thanks again, I've never had a mask stick like that, I was starting to resign myself to never seeing his face again!
  8. Do you wonderful minimate guru's have any advice on how to get the mask off? I just got a Spider-Man Back in Black minimate dirt cheap on eBay and he came in yesterday. I took him out and wanted to see him with his mask on so I put it on. It was a little snug going on, but now the thing wont budge and I can't get it off! I'm really hesitant to try inserting something, like an exacto knife, to loosen it up as I'm afraid I will do damage to the head or the mask. Have any of you had this problem? How did you get his mask off? HELP!
  9. If only we got a mate version of stoltz as marty.I think that stoltz and Crispin Glover{george mcfly}Look like they share some dna{we atleast in bttf} Sorry for the double post, but this was just released today http://www.bttf.com/spike-tv-recreates-ori...2010-awards.php FRIKING AWESOME! That is pretty sweet...
  10. Wow, that's looking great man! Your son is going to love it!
  11. QFT The film definitely seems like it would have had a more serious, twilight-zone-esque tone with Stoltz in it. He completely missed the comedic bits but really accentuated the emotional and dramatic undertones and seemed to be trying to capture the surreal vertigo that a normal guy really would be feeling in Marty's shoes. As weird as it was to see, it kind of intrigued me...
  12. A little OT, but still BTTF related...how weird is this? Eric Stoltz as Marty McFly
  13. Is there any real difference in taste between regualr lemonade and the pink version? I've yet to really find any difference. Honestly pink lemonade contains estrogen hence the change of color. Poor Spidey, May just doesn't understand what a good father she has!
  14. The only one I would want is Clank, he suits the minimate form perfectly and looks terrific. The rest of them...meh. The Jax & Daxter/Rachet & Clank games were only so-so, figures their minis would be the same!
  15. I know, it's a great idea isn't it? An AOA Sinister would be nice tho...
  16. It's been mentioned that there will be one or more 2-packs offered to help flesh out the AoA box-sets. I'd be surprised if we didn't see X-Man in one of the 2-packs. I sure hope so, he is one of my favorite all time characters. Wild Child, to go with Sabertooth of course!
  17. I want an AOA X-Man minimate already...He was kind of the crux of the story and he's MIA from both sets...
  18. Shows as out of stock for me, is this true for anyone else? If so I will have to try and snag them elsewhere. Agreed.
  19. Weird, for some reason it popped up as a new strip for me. Sorry about that! Either way, it was hilarious! Actually that strip is almost 2 months old now but glad you enjoyed it. I loved Spidey 2099 a lot but never understood why they played down Miggy being Mexican and Irish. I know they did a lot of Mexican stories due to the big role his mom played int he book but the irish aspects were down played. Then again it was more important who his Dad was when it was revealed rather than his ethnicity. I have an Irish last name and I married an Italian woman and I know Gissepi McDonald would sopund weird.
  20. Dude, that's awesome! Good luck, post some pics!
  21. Love the new Spider-Man strip, especially the jibs at Spider-Man 2099. I loved that comic, but I always thought that was a random name for a guy. Miguel O'Hara...seriously? "Nobody likes the DCU!"   Ahhhhh i needed that today! Glad you enjoyed. Spending hours on writing, photographing, photoshoping and posting is oworrth it to entertain someone and bring them some happiness.
  22. No, sadly not. My wife and I just had our first child this past month and his birth has meant that I've had to put all my pet projects on hold for the time being, one of which was making an Iron Man helmet. This is a photo from a guy who frequents a lot of the pepakura boards showing folks the process. It's actually not that complicated, just time-consuming and can get expensive if you decide to fiberglass your pieces for added strength. When I can finally crank one out I will gladly show it to everyone I can though!
  23. I've actually been thinking of making a minimate costume. I'm really into papercrafts/pepakura and have learned enough that it actually would not be that hard to make a mini costume. Time consuming, but not hard. FWIW, you can actually use pepakura files to make full suits of Halo or Iron Man armor out of cardboard. How hardcore is that?
