  1. I think I may rent it when it comes out on DVD... maybe...
  2. I just got mine... every single one of them are in fine shape. Raft Sentry's legs were a tad stiff at the sockets, but nothing at all like Nightcrawler. A little wiggling and they loosened right up. Overall, the quality on these (my set at least) is pretty decent
  3. I'm working on a new special features section that will show how I make the issues... and I was keeping that in mind when I made this week's episode, so when I get that section of the site up and running, you will all be able to see how I did that particular effect. But for now I will tell you that it was sticky tac for a base, touched up via photoshop. And I always say that every time I punch someone in the face ...that was a joke, btw
  4. Issue 80 is up... no special feature this week (sorry. its been a tad hectic. I'll make up for it next week)
  5. As far as the storytelling and pacing and all that, it looks to be amazing. As far as the cgi effects & rendering... ugh. I'm hoping what we see in that new trailer is unfinished. But I doubt it. But alas, I trust Raimi to make this a well told story. Fortunately it's the story that matters and not the cgi
  6. Don't take it super personally. I get attacked for all kinds of stuff, usually whatever I post on my xanga or myspace. I've learned that if you put something out there, it is inevitable that someone is going to jump on you for it. Because no matter how much we as a society try to promote tolerance, we will never truly grasp the idea. The best we can do is try to learn from what we experience But yeah - just like Ady said, most of us are not attacking you at all. It may seem harsher than it really is, mainly because it's in written word and not delivered in person (which is why I dont talk on AIM anymore... it's so easy to misinterpret what is being said when you don't have body language and voice inflection/tone to rely on)... Take it as constructive, cuz that's how we are giving it
  7. Yeah, that's what I was thinking when I made my comment about playing the humor up while you were writing the article... At the very least, if you don't do a humor tag, you will have something that will communicate the non-seriousness of the article...
  8. I think it may not hurt to have a humor tag, but I dont know if it's necessary. Personally, I too was slightly confused by the Dark Angel article... I did catch some humor in it, but I didnt realize it was supposed to be more humorous than I interpreted it to be. But still, I didn't get quite the impression that Captain Concerned had. I think he over reacted a tad bit. If you want to add a humor tag, it may help... but I think it may be wiser to simply communicate the humor aspect a bit more as you're writing the articles... From all I can remember, this is the only article I've read where it was slightly confusing in this regard.
  9. Hot stuff! Welcome aboard, and by all means, feel free to act like you're part of the family! We could use an awesome cool guy to help our image
  10. I did... so I will certainly let you know when I get mine
  11. Quick customs or not, those are pretty spiffy
  12. Thanks guys Fujis... it was a long process involving a Photoshop paintbrush tool, smudge brush tool, hue/saturation tool, and 30+ layers.
  13. Well, I ended up deciding to make it "Captain America playing football" ... cuz as it turns out, I am quite lazy. Especially when it comes to 2:00am and I realize that to make it amazing, I would have to put in at least another 10 hours. I really don't want to do that. So I'm just going to go with the "It's comical... live with it" approach. Thanks for your help, guys. Sorry I didn't use it... blame it on my slackerness
  14. yeah. That's what I keep coming back to ...the difficulty is going to be setting the pic up to really communicate that he's running to throw a bomb. it will take something specific in the background or around him to really sell that... and I have no clue what that might be. But anyway - I appreciate your guys' help. Its cool of you to assist me in a competition that you guys arent even in cheers!
  15. indeed. A big thanks to you and your wife for the effort to make this project happen
  16. Yeah, I had thought of that too. But it would cover too much, and make it look like I was a slacker
  17. The amount of work that would take would be pretty time consuming... its a great idea, but Im afraid that it will take me too long...
  18. ok, check this out... I'm doing a competition where I have to take a source image and turn it into something else via photoshop. The source image is this: And instantly, I had a picture in my head of Captain America: Ok, now this is where I need your guys' help. As you can see, Im not done with it yet. I stopped here because this is the point I was at when I realized that I needed to put something in Cap's hands, and I didnt have the slightest clue what. So I am begging for help - what would make sense in this pic? What would Captain America be running with? Oh, and just so you know, I am almost definitely changing the background. So if you need to have a specific scene for the item he's carrying to make sense, then it's not a problem. Oh, and I kinda need to get this project finished ASAP. These competitions dont have an official end time. It could be over before I go to bed. I'd like to get my entry in as soon as I possibly can... Thanks!
  19. here it is... CLICK ON ME! I'm sorry that it took me so long to get that put together. I had some stuff to take care of before I could get to recreating this sucker. It's in jpeg format, but given its size, you should be able to cut it out and shrink it down and still have it look right (it always seems to work for me, anyway). If you want it in another format (I have it saved on my comp in a layered format, which of course would eliminate having to cut it out... but I can't for the life of me figure out how to host a layered image. Im such a noob), PM me and I'll see what I can do Also, here is a decently large image of the official Minimates logo, if you're wanting to use it as well
  20. Sorry Ady... somehow the original file I had been using got corrupted. I will get to work on remaking that tonight, and post something of really high quality on here for everyone to use.
  21. I got one... and now Im thinking that I didnt make my want list as easy as I could/should have. The list I got is pretty stinkin easy...
  22. I wanted to see how much it would come to to get 300 of those. Ha. I decided to settle for 40. It cost me 40 cents for 40 two-packs, and almost $60.00 for shipping.
