  1. Completely forgot to post the pic of Benny & roger. (: I think if sculpt Rogers head it wouldn't be on a minimate one but made entirely out of apoxie, otherwise it'd be too wide. I tried my hand at sculpting a pig head Eddie variant but I completely botched it and have to start over. Tmnt was on the back burner because I ran out if apoxie and my hobby shop didn't have the green I wanted. Darkwing duck is an interesting property I want to try next. I've also made the decision to start selling my customs as well so if any of your interested in what you've seen and want one a kind items let me know. Ill be setting up a store either thru etsy or shopify or something similar. Thanks again phiz!
  2. Not sure how many of you here are board game/card game fans, but I do know several of you are Ghostbusters fans. I'm a big YES to both. Anyway, I recently started brainstorming on my new idea for a card game that uses elements from Memory, Guillotine, and High Noon Saloon to name a few. Scroll to the bottom of this link for images and my latest ideas if you're interested- I'd appreciate the feedback. Thanks! http://boardgamegeek.com/article/10941981#10941981
  3. It makes me wonder too how so many of us want 'dream jobs' working at toy companies or what have you and how little of those people actually exist in those positions. "And what do you do for a living?" "Oh, it's nothing much......I make action figures" "Ooh, that sounds so exciting" "Meh. It pays the bills."
  4. I wonder, if at the offices of DST if like us- can't help but take apart minimates and swap out pieces/parts to make new figures. I know Zach posted pics of his pirate Thing not too long ago. What about the rest of the crew? Just curious. Is that how certain figures comes about? Reused parts are so common among figures...hmmm.
  5. Minimates for me is the only toy line that i know of that if you miss a figure, it's guaranteed you can find another version of it........or wait until they make a new wave- and I'm not just talking about the MVP's like Spidey and Wolverine. Look at how many Thing minimates there are. Size is the biggest factor for me. Fit great on my desk at work...despite everyone thinking they are Legos.
  6. It's okay Boyd. I don't like Transformers either. Or Thundercats. GASP!!! TMNT, Ghostbusters, He-Man, Alf, California Raisins- that's my cup of tea. YES, ALF.
  7. Yo Gabba Gabba- the most annoying kids show ever. The voices are all off key, the songs are like nails on a chalk board. DJ Lance? Please. "WATCHING PAINT DRY IS.....AWESOME!!!" Whoops I thought this was the 'Kids TV Shows You Hate Watching" thread.
  8. I never saw 2001 A Space Odyssey. But I do get the references and can't help but think of Michael J Fox whenever I see the movie poster. MCFLY IN SPACE!!
  9. I display all my minimates at once in crystal clear display cases from Hobby Lobby. They're stackable (at most 3 is the highest I'll go- My X-Mansion display has a war room, danger room, and hangar level)and fit under my desk at work. I have 5 total stacks- a Ghostbusters firehouse, the X-Mansion, video games (left 4 dead and konami X-men), Castle Doom, Age of Apocalypse, and Spider-Man. I'm in the process of reorganizing them, waiting for the FF wave and my collection will be complete.........for now.
  10. All the Disney stores I visited as well (Grand Rapids, Milwaukee, Indianapolis) also disappeared. This along with the removal of Waldenbooks, Wizards of the Coast, Kay Bee Toys, and Suncoast....I hate going to the mall nowadays.
  11. I like how nuts we all are trying to figure/reason this out. Once it does get announced, they'll be an all new thread talking about how cool/lame/bizarre it is. Oh forums, you'll never die.
  12. Nope. I think that shot is pre Disney/Pixar. Hence no Toy Story.
  13. For the number of minimates DST has released they really should have dioramas as well. Those are fantastic.
  14. Good call. Maybe that's why the father and sons line got axed so they could use it for pan's shorter kid characters.
  15. And who knows...maybe a second wave would be jake and the never land pirates, which in turn would give us that kid minimate style sculpt.
  16. I think you should do the crocodile with the clock in his belly.
  17. I'm with you- although I thought they made a figure of him for the 94' cartoon......just checked. They didn't. Maybe there's hope we'll get a Willie Lumpkin and Roberta the desk secretary con exclusive two pack....or Herbie, despite 'Ask DST' saying they "have no plans" to make him.
  18. Seems like everyone is on this thread so... HAPPY NEW YEAR!
  19. At this point, it'll be something along the lines of Desperately Seeking Susan. So random and out of the blue. I'd never even heard of that movie until I saw the toys. As mentioned earlier, even if it is something 'meh', I'll still look to it for new sculpts of parts/pieces for customs. Honestly, I'm content with getting the new Fantastic Four wave and calling it good......until another epic wave is revealed of 'must-haves' Marvel characters. It's like Marvel Legends all over again- they've pretty much made all my favorites at this point- and as for the ones they haven't- I'll either make my own or continue to wait and hold out like everybody else. I'm keeping my mouth shut now- one less bottle of Tylenol for Zach.
  20. The only weapon that can defeat Galactus- the ultimate nullifier.
  21. How is that different from the 1st day attendees?
  22. Another glow in the dark hater? It's not like I'm asking for scratch and sniff minimates. That is it, isn't it Zach? The never ending thread. WAIT-A-MINUTE........... Never Ending Story Minimates?!?!
  23. Les Miserable? Do we really need ANOTHER Hugh Jackman minimate??
  24. That pic made me smile. I'd like to think that guy is Zach and the explosions are all our comments/concerns/gripes about minimates. HILARIOUS!!!!!!! That made my day.
  25. But the muppets haven't had an on-screen (tv) presence since the muppet show back in 1970 (I could be off on my date). There was that flopped revamp "Muppets Tonight" but that didn't last long. I'm still waiting for MUPPET BABIES: The complete series to be released on DVD so I can watch them with my daughter.
