  1. I went by TRU today and they did have the DVDs in stock: about 10 Iron Man versions and 1 Capt America. I opted not to buy ( :o sorry guys, but I've almost broken free of Timbo's hold (it's been so long since new minis were out, I was almost clean and sober, until the John Stewart nickel bag!) ) Anyway, I did take a good look at Cap's face. His mouth is like Daredevil's, but he's got a little swirl for a chin instead of the curve. With his mask on, that's all I could see of course (thus the mask, duh!) Gonna have to count this as a variant figure.
  2. Ah-hah! Patience is rewarded: happend by the local Fred Meyer (Krogers) today and they happend to have a bunch characters on the pegs. Seeing as this is Monday, I figure they probably had a couple of cases prior to the weekend. My belief that Mattel is cranking these guys out as fast as they can has paid off; with the patience of the spider I don't have to buy off of those irritating eBay scalpers! So I've got about half the charactes I want and my energy is renewed!
  3. And sometimes I am very thankful that I don't own a cell phone...
  4. Heh. Sorry, JL, but some days you just make me feel better. I'm sick, no doubt about it, but you've got it worse! (love ya, man!)
  5. No, but Kubrick has. Well, okay, no playset, but three series of figures, so it's working for them on some level. Compared to, um, four Marvel series? Taken in conjunction with the blind-boxed Street Fighter minis, mayhaps AA is working hard to break into the Asian market. If successful, can you imagine what that might mean for our favorite block figure? Count me in on the Count Chockula set! SO, one other question: does this mean the official AA Forum had breaking news? Or does the fact that it's still officially just rumor not count?
  6. He certainly looks happier in the second and third pictures! (Is that the right response? ) Really, that's a job well done. Thanks for including us, Shanester. LOL at Ady
  7. So how is it this guy isn't spending all his time and money in court? http://www.podbrix.com/ Isn't there some sort of copyright / trademark infringement here? (Yeah, yeah, I just discovered these. So I'm a little slow on the uptake... )

Too kewl! Thanks to you, Mr Shanester, and your secret weapon!
  9. Well, here's wishing them the best of luck. Certainly feels like a corporate vehicle now, if only AA would actually get involved with it. I might cruise by for news... if the new site can get breaking news out of AA. But my registered membership stays right here!
  10. Sweet new icons! And it's good to see Stuckakid around again.
  11. So did you SDCC fellas get Shanester all sent off in proper fashion? Or did you convince him the single life is far better for Minimate collecting? Does he even remember that he was in San Diego?
  12. 2007?!?! Aaagh. The Minimates I want the most are taking forever!! Okay, I'm done with my tantrum.
  13. Thanks for trying, JP! Is it too late to change your mission briefing? Things for Jatta Pake to do on Sunday
  14. Hmm. Whilst I -- er, my kids, own quite a few Galactic Heroes, I've always blamed it on the lack of Star Wars Minimates. These Marvel versions will put that to the test. Given the choice, I'd much prefer they keep Spidey & Friends. *sigh* Probably has something to do price point etc. Of course, I Rescue Heroes have miniaturized, so maybe it's just the way the toy designers think we should be swinging this decade. [edit] WAITAMINUTE! There's no Spdier-Man! :o What the heck? This can't be right... [/edit]
  15. LOL. No fret it, Rad. Your successful use of the Peter Porker smiley clearly overcomes any silly oversights!
  16. Here's a special behind-the-scenes look just for you board members. (It's almost like owning the DVD, ain't it?) For those who are saying "Huh?", the OMRAC appears in a JP-related comic at MMHQ. Crazy White Promomates
  17. So... can any one at SDCC confirm or deny 2-1/2" Minimates in the DC line?
  18. DANG! Just imagine displaying a White Queen mini on a model dressed as White Queen, snapping a pic and getting her to sign that very mini! Done imagining? Now think of what that figure would pull in on eBay.... :o
  19. And a tip for the future: never rotate frozen joints; instead, move the limb perpendicular to the peg's axis first. The peg is stronger in that direction, rather than shearing it with a twisting motion. (Am I making sense?)
  20. Get a booth babe or cheesecake in a costume (but NOT Timbo!) to sign a Minimate blank (got any FCBD blanks left?). And naturally, you must photograph it happening.
  21. The difference I see is that DST was always trying to get into the mass market, whilst DCD is going to be selling via specialty channels (comic store, etc.) For a while, I'm hoping the two attacks will complement each other, mass market brining a larger fan base in, who then seeks out and raves about the better choices in DC. Ultimately, the Marvel will fail or get rethought.
  22. The Spawn Kubs look pretty cool! Having said that, I must admit to owning a few Kubricks. But really it's only because of the licensing -- if Minimates came in all the varieties that Kubricks did, I would own naught but 'mates!
  23. * Bump * Wondering if you had a webcam address before you disappeared on your Big Trip.
  24. Ady, where are these pictures coming from? Are the promo stuff released by AA? Or from a toy show?
