  1. LOL. Thanks for the post, Rexx. It brings the fun back into miniMate collecting!
  2. I'm very worried about my LCS. I can understand DST working to get into the mass market, but what really bugs me is the "ship to TRU first". What a BS clause that is -- like any sales via a comic store are really going to hurt TRU's bottom line. It especially pisses me off! because my local TRUs don't have any of the recent releases on the shelves. Seems to me we collectors ought to have the choice of being treated by people who care about us and the toys, even if it does mean a small jump in price. Are you listening DST?
  3. Oh, these are pretty darn cool. I'm thrilled to see DST stepping up to meet the standards set by DC (of course, both series are still vaporware...). Saddened that it's more X-Men, with a Wolverine no less. *sigh* All that said, Storm rocks! If she looks that good in person, she'll be one of my highest rated 'mates. (And the Swordfish relationship doesn't hurt... heh)
  4. I'm gonna side with JL here (as long as we're playing deduction) -- the count of each figure increases as the list progresses, so the last ones (Battle Damaged / Double Canon) are probably supposed to be a larger number, like 6.
  5. Yeah, I'll vouch for the goodness of StuckaSteal... er, -Kid! I've ordered from Xybot and his bunch, they're a great group and as badly addicted to minimates as the rest of us! SO. Anyway want to get just half a case of each flavor? (Hey! Stop laughing -- I know that's a sissy order in this crowd, but one can only do so much...)
  6. Poop on a stick! Nothing, nothing in the Lynnwood/Everett stops. Guess I'll have to travel further south into Seattle. Thanks for your report, Donster, it brings me hope. Hey Bob! Glad to see another PNW face around here!
  7. Wait a minute... George Bush had a Batcopter?
  8. Colossus and Nightcrawler! Now that's a 2-pack worth selling, worth buying multiples of... !
  9. Ah-hah! Well, welcome to the light, you lurker. Thanks for the response.
  10. OFF TOPIC: Hey Lobsterman! Welcome to the board. I didn't see that you introduced yourself over in the appropriate forum, so I'm gonna ask this here: Are you, by chance, in any way associated with a member long missing who went by the handle Crayfish?
  11. Yeah, he sent mine along quite promptly. Must be an oversight, Fujis.
  12. Yeeps -- when you said "Ernie" I was thinking Muppets. Yeah, I'm still not sold on the sculpted heads. If you're gonna go block, stay minimalist, that's my motto.
  13. LOL. Man, I hear you on that. So, anybody in the Pacific NW seen these yet? No new minimates at the two TRU near me (although they did have Darktide...)
  14. Yay! (where's that dancing dagget when you need it?) With those variants and all, I'm betting this is a blind-boxed gambit. Which I will be fine with if the ratios are fairly even (none of this 1:96 bullshit). Timbo's grumbling aside, I think this is neat way to do army building. While splitting out the new and classic versions seems like a lot, it all depends on case size, now doesn't it?
  15. Congrats, Danny! Let it be known that you will always be an indespensable resource. And you'll always be Divebomb to me!
  16. LOL. Thanks for the great pictures, neolego! Of course, now I'm desperately wanting these...
  17. Now that's what I like: concise answers to specific questions. I also appreciate Donna's input. Sadly, this will only rejuvenate Cloneme's infatuation...
  18. Ever since DC set the bar higher by using the 2-1/2" minMate body for larger characters, I've been considering what Marvel characters should receive the same treatment (this assumes we all live in a fantasy land that allows DST to upgrade their license...) Jatta Pake posted a very cool Hulk custom to that effect over at Minimateheadquarters which prompted me to pose this question. So, who should get bigger, whether already produced or not. Keep in mind that at miniMate scale, 2-1/2" is like 8 feet tall. As such, Thing should not be taller, just keep him with the big chest and fists.
  19. Yay, yay! Day after day, I've been staring at my John Stewart minimate, because he's the closest thing to fresh new fix I've got. Now I can go out and get the real deal! Can't wait to see how various mates will look zooming around in the Mach 5.
  20. Hey Nestle! I was in a Target yesterday that had one of those sets, so I examined the back of the box for you. Here's what I've determined: The track has a pair of those rubber wheel things that propel the cars around. It wheels zip them up the central slope, then the spiral down, apparently doing whacky things on the big open curve. Hit the bottom and -zip!- back up they go, as long as the batteries hold out. Off to the right is a lever you can press to "detour" the car. They have to make it throught the spinning wagon wheel (I couldn't determine if that was electrical or kid-powered). If successful, a down-a-vator catches the car and lowers it gently to the floor. There you go, hours of Pixar fun in your very own home!
  21. Okay -- the Sugar Smacks frog is a little creepy. I wish they had sculpted his head like the other mascots -- he just doesn't fit in now.
  22. Hmmm. Hadn't seen this one before. Looks like fun (lotta help, aren't I? heh) It does include a muddy Lightning McQueen which is pretty cool.
  23. Hey Shanester, HobbyLink Japan's pissed at you now... No idea what they look like, but from the description... yuck.
