  1. Nice Tim! What about a black T-shirt with the Vitruvian Minimate on the front with the quote that you have or Primus Inter Pares and the Square globe on the back with the name "Minimate Multiverse" and the url. And if it's made without a date on it we won't need to have new ones made for each con...
  2. I agree. But would the Marvel line have been as successful in the 3" inch scale? What prompted the change I wonder? As I'm writing this I'm thinking it was simply the restrictions of the Marvel license which required them to make figures under 3" tall since another company had the rights to 3" figures already... Can you imagine a 3" Spider-Man? Has anyone customized superheroes in the 3" scale?
  3. Well, for most of us that's exactly what they are! And as promised here's the article on Power Girl: Who's Dr. Fate
  4. There is something quintessential about a 2" Minimate body. Even thought the 3" was the first minimate once they became the more recognizable 2" size they seemed to flourish where the 3" floundered. Whether it was the eclectic choice of licenses or the fact that the 3" body simply didn't captivate people one thing is clear: not one licensed 3" line made it to a second wave. I wonder if these lines would have been more successful if AA had started off with the 2" body? And I wonder, if given the chance, if these licenses could be resurrected if they got the 2" treatment? What do you think?
  5. I'm not going to be at the SDCC but I'd be down for a MMMV T-shirt!
  6. Definitely colorful characters but I for one am glad that this board is Trek-free. "It's not the band I hate, it's their fans" - that's how I've always felt about Trek and Trekkies/Trekkers. Exactly. 'Cause it's Picard.
  7. Ivan, I love that poster! What does it reference? And is it possible to see the image of the minimate without the graffiti?
  8. More than likely they'll be the same size as the LOTR figures which is 2.5" not 3". And you sound like a man that doesn't own any 3" minimates. I just bought a whole shwack of 'em from Shanester and I love 'em! I can't believe Trek and CTHD didn't make it to at least the 2nd wave. And as I said before I love that they are using a larger minimate for larger characters. I wish it was in DST's license to do this Marvel but alas...
  9. That's why it's called Control Art and not "Here's a general idea" Art. Little things might change but I doubt something as unifying the size of all of the characters will happen.
  10. I think the size difference is pretty much a guaranteed thing at least based on what we've seen from the control art.
  11. Did you think I was talking about Translucent Spidey?
  12. That's a great set up Ivan, where is that bus stop from? And I was outbid on that lot by one dollar! I hate when that happens! Although I never thought the price would go that high... How about a shot of the poster inside the bus stop. It looks pretty cool.
  13. A bad response to the Spider-Woman variant?! Are you serious? I'd much rather have another character or different costume than a clear or battle-damaged version as a chase. And technically you should be comparing my Wave 15 choice of variant to Wave 10 since it's actually closer...but you do have a point. I'm just excited about the fact that DC isn't bothering with chase figures (for now at least) and I hope DST follows suit and offers more characters per wave.
  14. Okay, I really wanted to get a full prediction in before SDCC so here goes... Wave 14 Modern Iron Man / Ultron Hawkeye / She-Hulk Scarlet Witch / Dr. Strange Scarlet Witch / Vision (chase) Wave 15 Gambit / Psylocke X-23 / Deadpool Apocalypse / Angel Apocalypse / Archangel (chase) And I know the chances of a Marvel SDCC exclusive are slim-to-none but I'm predicting an Iron Spider-Man / Aunt May 2-pack.
  15. Welcome back, Vash. Man, this site is pulling everyone out of the woodwork - I love it! Are you planning on posting your old customs as well?
  16. You ain't kidding, Ady. Check out this auction for three bagged '03 promos. I'm pretty sure "brainfjr" jr is a member of this board if not the AA forums. Speaking of which do we need an 'eBay handle list'?
  17. Check out this article about the new Speed Racer on Raving Toy Maniac. There's talk of a live-action Speed Racer film from the Wachowski brothers as well as links to the new Speed Racer website and trailer!
  18. I love the detailing on the inside of her coat!
  19. Fair enough. Just remember that this is a visual medium and it is difficult to understand someone who writes phonetically.
  20. Don't let Rodgers and Hammerstein hear you say that... And come on, no one's spelling is that bad. It's "any" and "there"...maybe slow down a bit.
  21. Good point, Shamrock. I didn't realize that asking two questions was considered making a point now. As far as I know (and people who own these can verify) but these statues are solid pieces that have been sculpted to look like they have joints. Articulating them would most likely involve cutting one up and casting pieces seperately which would be all but impossible.
  22. I'm meant the Fantastic Four boxset and yes, he does have C3 feet, he's right in front of me.
