  1. Okay, good to hear. If I'm totally honest, it'll probably be easier to return the two as a set than just returning one of them, so it works out for every one!
  2. Meh, I can't really say I'm super thrilled. Sony's still handing the standalone films, so that doesn't instill me with hope. Plus, I really liked the focus on less exposed characters in the MCU, and Spider-Man interacting with them worries me that he'll be taking the spotlight in the Avengers films from here out.
  3. Not that I think it's from DST, but as someone from the area, Hunt Valley is 5-10 minutes from Timonium (if that). It wouldn't be much of a stretch for it to be someone who worked in Hunt Valley. But Zach says it's not from DST, so it doesn't really matter.
  4. They now claim they've shipped it, so I'll let you know when it gets here.
  5. Well, Amazon is starting to frustrate me. Machine Man and Hawkeye have been marked "Shipping Today" since Thursday, and they won't let me cancel the order. My Dad stumbled on the whole series at Walmart and got me everyone but Sentry, so I guess I'm going to have duplicates of those two. Anyway, this this is a great series. Machine Man's may favorite just cuz he's freaking Machine Man and I never expected to get him. I'm happy to have a new Scarlet Witch so that I can say goodbye to that hideous ToyBiz version. Captain Marvel is a really solid figure, although the hair takes some getting used to. Hawkeye's a good update on Classic Hawkeye, but I wish his hands were a little better. Thor and Iron Fist surprised me, because they're both really well done and I really wasn't expecting to like them that much. And I really like Odin, even if mine will forever have the wrong left arm (I actually think the metal arm is a little cooler).
  6. This is all I can see when I look at the black costume:
  7. He wasn't. None of them were (aside from Iron Fist for a little while when Fraction was writing). Of the actual Defenders, Dr Strange is getting a movie, Hulk's tied up with the Avengers, Surfer's with Fox, and Namor's in an uncertain place legally. That really just leaves Nighthawk, Hellcat, and Valkyrie, who, while cool, aren't the most bankable names. Marvel's just using the name to do another team up in the vein of Avengers. Though, the Patsy Walker casting indicates that we might at least see some of the Defenders here and there. (Come to think of it, Nighthawk did start as a Daredevil villain...)
  8. I managed to get Machine Man and Hawkeye from Amazon. Now, if I I can get Scarlet Witch for a good price, I should be mostly good to go (unless I decide to finish Odin, which I may)
  9. I regret not getting into this line when Krillin was released. His price is a little prohibitive now...
  10. So, last weekend I took my brother to Magfest and found a pretty good deal on an Android 17. I've only ever been a moderate DBZ fan, but I always liked the Androids, so I caved and got him. Of course, now I want the other two Androids. I've preordered 16 and I managed to get 18 for an okay price using an Amazon gift card I got for Christmas. And then I found out 18 comes with Krillin pieces... I really don't need another line to collect...
  11. This! So much this! I would kill for an Ultraman line
  12. I totally respect that but have to ask; were you a fan of the animated series and how involved was Ramis in that? Because sometimes other writers can meet or surpass the creator. It's all a matter of taste but either way Ramis' presence will be missed. I've only seen bits and pieces of the animated series, though I've never enjoyed it as much as the movies. I see it as a separate entity from the movies, so it's easier to divorce it from them.
  13. I'm not particularly enthused by the new cast or the new movie, but that has less to do with the 'busters being female and more to do with me not being interested in seeing any more Ghostbusters movies following Harold Ramis' death. He was a key piece of the franchise (both in acting and writing) and I just think the franchise should have been laid to rest after his passing. @Zach: I was pleasantly surprised by the Robocop remake. I went into it with no expectations and found it to be quite a well done movie. I especially loved Gary Oldman's performance as Robo's conflicted creator.
  14. Eh, it's not terrible, but there's nothing that dissuades my previous thoughts on the movie.
  15. I'd argue that the same can be said of a complete X-Men team. It just seems to me that there's more effort being put into getting a complete version of what ever X-Team than there is any of the Avengers teams. At the end of the day, you can't please everyone, so I guess I'm just that guy right now.
  16. Zach, I understand why modern characters are made, I really do. And it seems like most people are pleased with that. My problem is that when we do eventually get classic characters, there seems to be a serious X-bias, which sucks if your someone whose enjoyment of the X-Books ends in the mid-80s. I'm glad people like 60, but I couldn't care less about the Lee-costumes, and I wasn't thrilled to see that Banshee, one of the X-Men I've actually wanted for quite some time, was stuck in a costume I don't care about. I do want classic Avengers. The last proper classic Avengers release was back in 2012, and there are some major gaps in my collection. We have complete X-teams from multiple eras, while the only complete Avengers teams we have are the first appearance team and the New Avengers. That doesn't seem right to me.
  17. I'm sure the looks will be sticking around for a little while, but I seriously doubt that all white Iron Man, heroic Sabretooth, and anyone who's not Steve Rogers Cap are in for the long haul. I'll grant you that Hobgoblin and Apocalypse are essentially their classic looks, but I'm pretty worn out on 80s/90s X-Men, so Apocalypse does nothing for me. I understand why you guys make the choices you do, but when the "classic characters" turn out to be pretty much nothing but 90s X-characters, I can't help but feel like the line's heading a direction that isn't for me.
  18. Well, I think these may be a pass for me. Cheers to everyone who wanted them, but I'm finding it harder and harder to get excited about the endless stream of post-90s stuff, not to mention the annoyance of the first non-X-Men comic series since 54 being wasted on a bunch of looks that won't be relevant in five minutes. I guess I'm just not in the target audience for minimates anymore.
