  1. Yeah, my money's on the "new" character being Female Thor
  2. If we get current Captain Marvel, that would actually excite me quite a bit. I really like her design, and the Legends figure was really cool.
  3. That's kinda how I've started to feel. It's nice to know someone else feels that way. Alien/Aliens is actually one of the licenses that I'm still pretty excited for. Although TRU getting Vasquez and Hudson is causing me a bit of pause. Thanks for the kind words I actually don't have any issue with licenses I'm not personally interested in, as long as others are happy. 60 is cool, especially the Brotherhood. I'd just like to get an equivalent Avengers wave, which seems unlikely. I try to do my best to keep the weariness out of reviews, mostly because I do still really love all of the figures I already have. The sheer number of Minimates I own means that they do turn up for review rather frequently, and even if I stop buying them completely (which I won't) I'd still have a whole lot left. I don't blame DST for making the decisions they do, and I'm happy they're so open with people. But, seeing the product Hasbro is putting out has made it more difficult to deal with not getting the figures I want from Minimates. And thanks for keeping up with the site. That actually means a whole lot to me.
  4. I was just going to use the one that came with Robo Skull, but more cosmic cubes are never a bad thing.
  5. Oh, right. I forgot about those. I just bought the two packs.
  6. That doesn't answer my question....
  7. How is that the olden days of Minimates?
  8. I don’t know how else to say this, but I think Minimates and I may be coming to a cooling point. It’s mostly Marvel, but the brand in general has been exciting me less and less as of late. I just feel too tired to go on. I’ve gotten tired of dealing with TRU’s stupidity with exclusives. Tired of the focus on movies, on the X-Men, on the 90s. Tired of being told of the exciting things to come, only to be let down by the final reveal. At 23, I’m apparently part of a dying breed of fans; the minority of those buying the line. I’ve expressed my frustration more than once, but it all just seems so pointless. Things are how they are, and that’s how they’ll stay. Nothing I say is going to change any of that. It really sucks, because I really like this community and I really like the line. I’ve got just shy of 1000 Minimates, and even with my issues, I know I’m bound to get more. I like being able to talk to others about what’s coming up. I like reviewing the figures I have. I still like getting newer ‘mates. But, I just don’t feel the same spark of excitement that I used to. Anyway, I don’t really have much else to say, I guess. Sorry for the block of text.
  9. Going by the TMNT Minimates, it seems TRU isn't a fan of blind packaging. Of course, it's possible they've changed their mind. If the main Marvel line starts going to blind boxing, I doubt I'll stick around though.
  10. Are you referring to the poll they did for 50? Cuz they didn't even do control art for those guys until after the winners were chosen. They definitely didn't do any sculpting on characters that lost.
  11. I like Skull's alternate look enough that I'll probably track down him and Falcap when these are released. Though he's definitely getting an actual hand in place of the stump.
  12. Oh, yeah, I meant Marvel as a whole, going back to the Golden Age. And no worries, I wasn't offended, just confused. And it seems to me that the pre-90s vs. post-90s is an uphill battle that I'm not going to win, so I guess I'll give up on that front. I could make a few more arguments, but I don't really want to be combative.
  13. ? I don't think I know what your "?" is aimed at.
  14. I'd be fine with that line-up, though I can't help but feel that the percentage of Minimates from the 90s seems really disproportionate for a property that's been around for over 75 years
  15. Around the time of Wave 60's announcement, I was toying around with a Classic Avengers wave done in a similar way. I was thinking either an Under Siege-inspired wave: The Captain (with US Agent Pieces) vs Wrecker Hercules vs Thunder Ball Wasp (with pieces for an extra costume) vs Pile Driver Black Knight (with Nate Garret pieces) vs Bulldozer or, alternatively, a classic Avengers VS Masters of Evil: Iron Man (with both Tony and Rhodey pieces) vs Melter Thor vs Black Knight (With Dane Whitman pieces) Wasp (with pieces for an extra costume) vs Enchantress Safari Wonder Man (with pieces for tank top Wonder Man) vs Executioner
  16. In response to the question about classic Avengers in the Q&A, Chuck said that we'd see "plenty of avengers (62 and 64)". That's what a few of us are referring to. But I guess I can dash my hopes of 64 delivering what I'm looking for. BHM: the original Power Man is more commonly known as Atlas nowadays. He took that identity in Thunderbolts and it's stuck with him
  17. Just some general thoughts: 1) my biggest problem with the "movie 'mates fulfilling the need for Avengers 'mates" is that it generally means we don't get new characters. Look at Age of Ultron. All those new 'mates, and every single one of them (that we've seen) is someone we've gotten before. What's more, just about all of them are characters we've gotten recently. Now, obviously, DST is going to make the characters in the movie, but that doesn't help me fill any holes in my collection. And, in all honesty, I had a similar complaint about the last Avengers comic wave (44), which gave us a whopping two new characters, packed in with characters we'd gotten plenty of times before. I understand the need for movie stuff. I understand the need for heavy hitters. It just doesn't thrill me to see wave after wave of stuff I've already got, so to speak. 2) I really don't consider 62 an Avengers wave. It's an event wave. I've already discussed my issues with it, so I won't retread them. If 64 is Avengers-based, that's cool, but I can't say I'm celebrating just yet. I'm glad the line is still going, and I'm glad that others are still very excited for what's coming up. I certainly haven't given up on the line, but I have cooled off a little bit. But, that's okay, I need the money for Aliens Minimates anyway.
  18. Which probably means they need to be top tier avengers for this to happen - but i'm gonna live in a fantasy world where we can get a WC member with Tigra, Ionic Wonder-Man, Mockingbird & Black Knight I'm cool with that fantasy world
  19. Yeah, I think the chances of the Wrecking Crew getting made will be at least somewhat influenced by the performance of Wave 60. The only way I could see them getting made in one shot is if they were each packed with an Avenger.
  20. I gotta be honest, when I hear the words "flaming xenomorph" my mind jumps to a whole different thing....
  21. My aliens display won't be complete until I get a Van Leuwin and the annoying No Indigenous Life lady two-pack. The sharply dropping IQs have to be represented!
  22. I made it to 500 reviews! To mark the occasion, I've written a (surprisingly long) review about DST's new Retro Spider-Man figure! Check it out here! Or don't. Thanks for looking!
