hey guys, I think I remember Chuck saying( this is from memory, not an exact quote) this is the only way they were allowed to package them. so this is why everything but the marvel mates is packaged in the window box.

If I ever make another one, I am stealing that idea

Hey guys, here are a few repaints I have had done for ages, but never got around to posting them. My biggest problem I am finding is if I don't post it right away, or have one started and just need to do either a little paint, or make a decal or something that should take me no time at all.......it never seems to get done, and just sits. Do any of you guys have this problem? back to the repaints, sorry about the rest of that :biggrin: The Trapjaw I did a few years ago is still one of my favorites, but seemed a little too thrown together, so just with a little fresh paint, and a head swap(which I am not sure about) he seems a little more finished now. and a Group shot of some pretty cranky looking dudes

Hi guys, I do not post very much in these kinds of threads. I would just rather read them, and have loads of fun doing so. Having said that, I have been a bit disappointed in these last few waves. I think a lot of it is just I think we are seeing these in such an early stage, and in my opinion, they seem rushed. I'd rather wait until some factory produced ones show up for approval, than hand-painted ,almost custom like prototypess are done. I am not saying the don't look good, but I know they will look 100% better. As far as the wave choices go- usually if it is characters I don't know/like/dislike, I still pick them up because they look cool, and if anything, I can use the parts at a later time. However, with figures like Grodd and Clayface, I just think they look ugly, and more like action figures than minimates. When all I see of the actual minimate body are upper arms, and thighs, for me, it is a problem. The best thing about minimates is they are all different, but still very much the same, as all block figures. Different capes, hates, hair, wings, gloves, boots, etc. are cool with me because they are not part of the body, but accessories(which I love!). I know there are exceptions, like The Leader's head (which I feel would look better on Sinestro than Sinestro's new head) but it is still in the same style as a minimate, just longer. With Salakk, even though it is very accurate, the head, just seems too far off from the rest of the minimates, and the simplicity that makes them great. I don't have a problem with his body because it still stays withing the minimates style, just longer with more arms. I think i just feel if I wanted sculpted bodies, I'll just buy sculpted action figures. I am not sure how you can do them different, but I think a big-chest with the torso drawn, rather than sculpted works just as good. Or, for the case of Salakk's head, even a regular head with maybe a slip over sculpted piece(if that makes any sense ) would still retain enough of the style. Sorry for this, but I felt I needed to chime in. I am in complete support for growth and evolution of the product. And I hope I am not overreacting, but I don't want to see minimates evolve into something that do not even resemble minimates anymore. ok, enough of that nonsense, I love the Red Son Superman, and will be in my top ten of all time no doubt. I love that they are opening up elseworlds type stuff especially if I can get a Riddle of the Beast Green Arrow, or a Von Bach and Captain Atom from Kingdom Come

Hey T, who said I left him.....he escaped! and must have been hiding out with all your other mates until I left Not sure if I want to make another set, since they are for charity. If I did, it wouldn't be for awhile after the charity auction, and probably would be a little different than these ones. Ona a side not here are a few new customs. I wouldn't feel right not showing them at the same time. I plan on hooking them up with some swords, but have to find some first Snake Eyes- Storm Shadow-

Hey guys, thanks for the very kind remarks about my customs they are indeed from my lego Batmobile. I did not plan on using them at first, but the other demon wings they make. They seemed a bit too small for this dude, so I went with these bigger ones, hit them with some flat black, and my favorite thing ever -Rub'N Buff. hey Shane, the Spartan liked San Diego so much, he decided to stay, and hang out there.

Hey gang, back again.....all the way from the last thread on the 2nd page :o well, I figured I would post my monster mate entries, and a few other evil dudes while I am at it First my version of a classic vampire. never thought I would reuse Harley Quinns little fluffy cuffs like this. I am going to have trouble letting go of these two guys, but It'll go to a good cause, so I think I will manage(plus I guess I could make another one, but I like the idea of it being a one of a kind). and as I said in the other thread, the thing that I find super cool about vampires is their shapeshifting abilities, so here is one of the many possibilities... and here is a little something I came up with while messing around with photoshop and here are a few of my favorite baddies around my umpteenth attempt at Cobra Commander, with a little help from our pal Fujis, who did made the mask for me. I think I am satisfied...finally Here is Skeletor, who I have been waiting forever to do, just had to wait for a proper hood, thanks Spectre! there is more, but this post is long enough me thinks

Well, I am late to the party.......again very sorry about this. I had a lot more planned for this, but time caught up, and i only got the custom(s) done. I hope you guys like my version of a vampire. I wanted to keep it kind of classic, but hopefully have my own look to it. first up is my vampire- the one thing I love about vampires is the ability to shapeshift into some pretty wicked demons, so I had fun and did my version of what this old pale faced chomper might turn into. Here is the two of them in a makeshift before and after shot. you can see the wings kind of rotate up and down. I hope you guys dig them...I had also planned to do a coffin as well as a little diorama with a few little things in it...maybe next time

Geat quick custom! As much as I hoped and wished and prayed for a Green Arrow to be released, the official version just didn't wow me as much as i thought it would(and I really do love 99% of the minis that come out) But this hood really looks like a perfect fit, and improves on a pretty damn good mate.

Hey Ant, I got them from BBTS, and just about all other online stuff lately, and not a problem ever(knock on wood) I'll try and get some pics later today if possible(maybe a few comparison shots as well), going to the beach tomorrow for the weekend.

Just got my two 5-packs in the mail yesterday, and I gotta say these figures are pretty damn sweet! I am now on the hunt for the single packs, which I hear have been showing up at some Wal-Marts already. Only minor complaint I have so far is some of the hands are sculpted to fit only that person's weapon, but I am one of those guys who only really uses each one's specific weapons anyway, so not that big a deal.

Love the detail in this dude! especially the face. Also love the photo shoot, great poses and angles!

Great custom! I too love the hidden face, very clever I am also glad you didn't have him done for the villain contest..........for personal reasons it would have been a different ballgame altogether
