  1. Hej and welcome to the Miniverse, mabait! I'm not sooo into IM, so I don't recognize all of your customs, but I do like them anyway! I really love the two Hulkbuster armors, they are brilliant! Nice idea. But, can you tell me what that little thingy is, above the IronMan 2020?
  2. Congrats and all the best for your little familiy, Sean!
  3. Well, we have known-knowns, that is to say, things that we know that we know; we have known-unknowns, or things that we know that we don't know; and we have unknown-unknowns, or things that we don't know that we don't know. . .uh, what was the question again? who the hell let Dick Cheney on the board? dont you have a friend to shoot in the face, waiting for you someplace, go away old man! That was Rumsfeld, wasn't he? But I thing Cap also mentioned something like that during Civil War, being a basic military strategy: keep the unknown-unknows to a minimum. Am I wrong? Is this some kind of unkown-knowing?
  4. Thanks. The poster does come out pretty well. I mean, it's not that hard to click a few buttons in photohop, but it's effective. Edit: Congratulations to the Black & White winners! Two of those were my choice as well, but I'd like to state that Skull Buster's Jack The Ripper totally blew me away. Very, very well done!
  5. I didn't know anything about Hellboy as well, until I started reading it last spring. And I really do like the way Mignola devolps his narration. It's somehow really slow and calm and the action sequences - which take a much bigger part in the movies - are a pretty counterbalance to that. You have to get used to this kind of reading in the first place, but - to say it with Moore - "Sit down and knock it back in one, then wait for your reading experience to undergo a mystifying and alarming transformation. Hellboy is a passport to a corner of funny-book heaven you may never want to leave. Enter and enjoy." I really like the way Mignola uses myth and legends from all over the world to adapt in his stories. I'd recommand trying to read this one to see if you like it. It gets much better, much deeper and creates its own mood in the following books, but that's were it all begun.
  6. Dio, it actually took me about ten seconds to get it! The first thing I thought was, damn, that's darn nice, but why does he use red color for the S? Didn't he get the rules... then my eyes wandered down to Ivan's trademark... But seriously, I do hope there will be a few more entries!
  7. Just read you're coming back with your "Figuratively Speaking" series. Really liked it so far.
  8. You're way too late, Raider! Waaay too late! I did mention that here like aeons ago! (We call people acting like that "Klugscheißer" in German, which I can't really translate accurately, but it means that I'm a clever shit!)
  9. I'd prefer the comic versions of these characters - in fact, most new costumes are well done interpretations of those, but I don't like Ozymandias' one, because there's nothing left from his delightful, majestic Egyptian and Grecian influences. But I guess, if there'll be some Watchmates in the end, they'll also go with the movie outfits. The chase figure anyway should be !
  10. Sir, with that sentence you officially made my day! I guess the thing is, that the english expression "f*cking" isn't that well known in German-speaking regions for the elder generations. Otherwise there might be a petition to actually change that name. But as I see it, the town got its name from the founder named Focko. Adding the suffix "ing" - as in "ting", an assembly, often used in Germanic societies - just says, that it's kind of a settlement. But it's still pretty funny after all!
  11. This guy is obviously awesome! BUT I just spotted that they use some of the songs Moore introduced in the comic - "Desolation Row" - "At midnight, all the agents" from Chapter I, not by Bob Dylan, but My Chemical Romance, which in my eyes - or ears - will sucks per se - "Unforgettable" - Nat King Cole - the music to a Nostalgia commercial from chapter VII! - "The Times They Are A-Changin’" - this time Bob Dylan, thanks a lot!, again as a Veidt commercial from chapter XI. - "All Along The Watchtower" - Jimi Hendrix, from chapter X. - "You’re My Thrill" - Billie Holiday - Yay, the song Dan plays on the Owl Ship during the fire rescue and love scene! They also added "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen (which is wonderful!), but should have used chapter II's "The Comedians" by Cohen. And they enclosed "Pirate Jenny" interpreted by Nina Simone, the famous song from Brecht's Dreigroschenoper (The Threepenny Opera) as being the end-credits for the Tales From The Black Freighter! (But I have to admit, Hildegard Knef in the original version of "Jenny, die Seeräuberbraut" is by far the better and more energetic artist for that song, but the english version delivers the line "There's a ship, the Black Freighter" in it, the line Moore got his title from, so it's abolutely justified.) I don't need to buy that CD - maybe vinyl, hrum?! - since I do have most of the songs, but I do love the idea to hear all these songs throughout the movie! You can find all songs listed here.
  12. Aren’t you a little short for a stormtrooper? Anyway, live long and prosper, Trekker, and happy birthday to you!
  13. To act on your signature Rheul, this ain't no fooling around, but: nice glider. Very nice glider!
  14. I hope this picture posting isn't regarded as spam, but I just found that here and thought it's a great idea and a pretty darn good executed one as well. A Golden Age Night Owl (I) Comic featuring Minutemen fellows Silk Spectre (I), Cap Metropolis and even Hooded Justice. On the right is the original artwork used as an inspiration featuring Golden Age heroes Falsh, Hawkman and Black Canary.
  15. Just found that and thought you might like it, BHM.
  16. I really like the details on your Toth design, like the burned right hand.
  17. Pretty amusing, no question. What came to mind is, that we do have a larger city called Darmstadt - that'd be Guttown. And I just found out that there is a very tiny village - around 100 people - in Austria named F*cking. No offense, that's the original name, no translation!
  18. Skrullpool is very unique! I do love his green ears! Well done, Glantern! And, while being here, I browsed through your customs and have to say that your Plastic Man is absolutely incredible! (I actually had to go ask wiki who he is, but he looks superb!)
  19. OK, that's funny, I just noticed it's Cyc's birthday and made up a Happy Birthday topic myself just a few seconds ago. Anyway, happy birthday!
  20. In fact, that was my first intention to realize!
  21. I'm a Mulitverse fellow citizen for a few month now and never did that explanation thingy here. Well, my user name is not - as suggested by TBT! and others when I was getting on board - intended to be a reference to the whispering British DJ with the same name, but to the movie character played by outstanding actor Bill Murray* in Lost In Translation. That's what it's like for me sometimes around here, since English isn't my mother-tongue; feeling lost in translation. The avatar however might be regarded as a reference to american author Thomas Pynchon, which I don't admire for his writings in the first place, but for his avoidance of personal publicity and absence in the media - which is hard to manage in these days. The Simpsons did invite him for one of their episodes as a cameo. But it also might be regarded as what ever you like it to be. So, you may call me Bob. ____ * Who also played a bizarre guy called Bob in the wonderful grumpy movie "What About Bob?" Edit: My avatar changed. As you can see.
